The service is super slow. I see other reviews say the same. Definitely seemed like the waitresses had never worked in service before a day in her life. They automatically put 20% gratuity on all checks so the waitresses don't care about the service they provide because they are getting paid regardless. All drinks including shots are about $13 or more plus the 20% they add on everything. The food is AMAZING and I know someone's mother or grandmother is in that kitchen because every bite was wonderful. I don't mind tipping 20-30% when I have good food like that.
My waitress on Saturday night was named Sweetie. She came around maybe every 30-40 minutes to check on us. We went downstairs to get our own drinks since we could never find her and caught her standing on the side of the bar having a drink herself. She finally came back upstairs to check on us 20 min later after seeing us at the bar. We wanted to order food and she said (and I quote) "Wait, let me get a pen because I am going to forget your order".
First, why are you a waitress without a pen. Second, why cant you remember wings and a veggie pizza. Third, it took her another 20 min to come back to take the order. She got our drink orders wrong twice, still tried to charge us for it, then added other people drinks to our tab. She didnt seem drunk or high but she definitely was moving in super slow motion. Took her forever to get the bill corrected and insisted on keeping my Visa giftcard for some reason.
The owner was super cool and told us when we came in that he would check on us. We told him exactly what happened and he apologized for the service. He didnt offer us anything or even give us a different server but this spot is new so maybe they are still learning and working out the kinks.
You cant hire every big butt and a smile that walks in the door unless they actually want to work and have the experience. If you do, dont put them on your busy shifts or weekends. We had to stop the guy who was helping with hookahs to get our table bussed after we hate and a few rounds. It was 8 of us so we had about 20 cups and glasses on the table after a few rounds. The waitress never came to clean anything.
Once the kitchen and bar closed the server came over every 5 minutes to ask us to close our the check. Too bad she didnt have that same drive and energy when serving us.
Before the end of the evening, a huge fight broke out with some of the staff members. Thank God no one went over the railing or flying down the stairs. There is no security at the door or inside so that's when we knew it was definitely time to go.
I invited 8 people with me and it was everyone's first time. We all felt the same. We would go back just to get the food to go, hookah and atmosphere. NEVER to stay for the evening or past 8pm to be forced to pay for bad service along with fighting by the waitresses.
If you still decided to try this spot here are some things to know:
The parking was next to the building and around $6-8. It was well lit and felt safe.
It has a 30 & up, grown and sexy vibe.
The hookahs are $30 each and are very good. The hookah guy from Saturday was great and came to give us more coals and refills without us even having to chase him down.
Everything on the menu is good but after a certain time (after 9 or 930pm) they only serve wings and pizza so get there early for the better options.
The alcohol selection is small so if you are very specific on what you drink this may not be the spot for you.
The DJ on Saturday is great and they stay open until 3am. The hours are wrong on Google.
There is not a bar upstairs so sit downstairs if you like to drink so you dont have to go up and down the stairs to get beverages.
Ladies, If you wear heels be VERY CAREFUL on the stairs.
The Male staff is very accommodating with helping you...
Read moreI’m a little disappointed to see all of the bad reviews. I was thinking about coming here for brunch with my friend tomorrow but after reading the reviews and the company’s response to the reviews I can’t bring myself to do it.
I’ve been to this location a few times and the food was amazing along with the music. Still had issues getting the food out on time and they messed up my order three times. This is why you are getting three stars. Someone needs to seriously figure out how to efficiently run a kitchen because that seems to be a common complaint according to the reviews but something that should be easy to fix internally.
The staff was friendly so I’m disappointed to see all the reviews about the staff being rude to paying customers. Not a place where I want to come spend money especially when I’m not sure whether my server will be Dr. Jekyll or Mr. Hyde. Take a tip or two from Chic Fil A. They are clearly doing something right when it comes to customer service.
This company has a good thing going. Especially with the food and music. Don’t let poorly trained staff, bad employees, and bad customer service continue to diminish your company’s reputation. Sounds like you all are in need of better management and/or better employees.
Last thing, if you are seeing reviews from customers that are unhappy with their experience, you should try to respond to them. The only responses I see to reviews are the ones where you don’t feel like you are at fault. Don’t skip over the really bad ones. It makes a difference to see that a company cares about its customers experiences both good and bad. Also, please give some thought to who you have responding to these reviews. I find it unprofessional that the company is using words like “mite” and “b4” when responding to customers. This is a public forum and you are running a business.
I hope to try this place out again in the future, but I hope some things have changed by that time. If so, I’ll be updating my review.
I’m saying all of this because I care. I want to see this business do well, but it doesn’t sound like you all have the right people in your ear. I hope this constructive review does some good. I believe in redemption and hope this is a place I could visit again...
Read moreI was invited to the Brklyn Kitchen &Lounge for a surprise birthday party. Upon arriving I really wasn’t sure what to expect as it had been some time since I’ve gone out into that type of atmosphere. The design of the place is really nice, the flooring is nice, I love the accent graffiti wall, chairs and everything was nice. The music was great, some songs I didn’t know but definitely loveddd the throwback songs. The hospitality of everyone was nice, I wasn’t quite sure where the party was sectioned so I stood at the front entrance but the security guard checked on me as well as a few of the servers, asking if I needed anything. Now the best part I have to say was the food, I love food so a great meal is important to me. As I was getting ready earlier I thought it’s better to eat at home to be on the safe side in case the food was... meh. Man! Was I wrong. We had order some wings and pizzas, the crab rounds, fries, and some shrimp. Everything was so tasty, and hot! I also loved the creative combinations they had, like the oxtail pizza! I never would’ve thought to put oxtail on pizza and I definitely never would’ve thought it would taste good, but it’s safe to say it was an amazing combination. The drinks were great though I do wish for a drink menu. I love to drink but I don’t know a bunch of drink names or combinations other than the basics( margarita, rum and coke, cosmopolitan, screwdriver and mimosa). So I really didn’t even know what to order as a drink because usually at restaurants they have their own specialities that I just order. Overall it was a great experience, I was at my tipsiest and I plan to come back for my birthday with friends and family and hopefully...
