Hotel seemed amazing at first, but the longer we stayed the weirder it got. First thing we discovered is the continental breakfast is simply a sack lunch with a water bottle and an apple inside. You can then add your choice of granola / nutrigrain bar(s). So the sack lunch is completely sugar with zero other options. Take your bag back to your room, as they're still in full pandemic mode. Secondly, some men walked in and sat down beside the pool where our kids were swimming. The men weren't guests at the hotel, and the front desk later told us they often came inside to hang out. Normally I would never notice this type of thing, except the men were taking pictures / video of my children as they were swimming. They especially followed my 10 year old daughter around. So I evacuated my kids from the pool and we went to our room and called the front desk. They said the men were regulars and they'd look into it. But after an hour the men were still there. So, clearly the hotel did nothing and they don't care. If I were a human trafficker and I knew this hotel allowed outsiders to harass the guests and record young girls, I'd hang out at this hotel pool also. Thirdly, we finally tracked down the maids between our 2nd and 3rd days and asked them about room service. Specifically, our room was missed and when would they take our dirty towels / garbage / etc which is customary in hotel rooms. Staff stated they offer zero service for guests due to covid. They only tend a room after guests leave. So you must vacuum your own room if you need it done. And you must take your garbage or towels or sheets and daily request replacements as needed. If you have small children and need bedding changes, be ready to track down the maid service to get your replacements. Soap, shampoo, toilet paper and other amenities are also to be attained in this fashion. This hotel seemed like such an amazing find, but the fear you get when people are openly recording your kids, and the frustration of getting room service make this hotel a 1 out of 5. Amazing location off the interstate, and hot tub was hot and relaxing, but when the rest starts happening, the stars start dropping from the review. If you expect a cheap room, and you don't mind a kidnapping, perhaps you would rate the room higher.

I wish I would have checked reviews before we booked here. I now see that the mold problems we found this weekend have been prevalent for quite awhile. As we entered the room we immediately stuffed up and one of my daughters started having an asthma attack. We found the heater was full of mold. The font staff gave us cleaner and told us to clean it ourselves. Despite the winter weather advisory we had to sleep with the heat off. We were moved to another room the second night. While this room was remodeled, the bedding was filthy - the inside sheets were covered with something that resembled coffee grounds. The pool was over chlorinated and all of our children broke out in hives after being in there a short time. The ceiling tiles were falling out of the ceiling and looked as if they were covered in mold. The floor had standing water everywhere making it dangerous to allow kids to walk let alone play. I have attempted to attach photos of our heater.

For the rate we paid it was more than we expected...under $100 and we received a large room with 2 queen beds...room for children to play ...refrigerator- freezer was set too high and we had items freezing...we needed extra towels and we received them .spent an extra day but still received clean towels...on site restaurant...only ate breakfast. Swimming pool, child's pool, and hot tub...the only item I didn't like was the length of the hallway with stairs to the main floor ..if you took the wrong door you could end up walking halfway around the long, curved building...the tricky part is there is no identification on the building ..only a sign out by the building...along the walls are signs for "bar"... "Casino" ...nothing that confirms it's the Lodge...next door to big box stores and restaurants.

I was disappointed in the service at the Front Desk, from the minute we walked in. She asked my last name then told me our room wasn't ready so she couldn't check us till 3:00pm, its was 2:15pm. So we left went to Walmart came back, she said it's still not 3:00pm (by my watch it was, but it was 2:56pm by her) Finally she checked us in but didn't know if our room was clean or not, said if it's not you'll just have to leave your room door open till there done !! Excuse me check is 3:00pm, my room better be ready as I need to be get and ready and leave for my event at 4:00pm. Got to our room and they just finished cleaning it..thank goodness!

Our room was clean by the hotel staff, but room was extremely dark, and needs updating bad, like new tile and fresh coat of paint in the bathroom, and some rust removed from the tub.

Our room had an inside and outside door (which personally I hate, for safety reasons). You could see under the outside door and we wondered what critter could come under it. So we put a towel under the door.

The good news about the room was the bed and pillows were great!! Very nice and comfortable, which I guess is the most important, but would have like the room alittle cleaner.

As were getting ready to leave and decide what to eat, I happen to read that there is free continental breakfat, BUT it ended at 9:00am, it was 9:10, when I read it. Really wish that when we checked in the they would have told us about that !! But that would have required "Customer "Service" which the gal at the front counter didn't know the meaning of the word !!!

So if I needed a place to stay and nothing else was available I would stay here again, BUT only if nothing else was...

I'm editing my review. The person helping me to address the issue of one of the clerks checking me into and giving me the room keys to an already occupied room is really nice and helpful. I like staying there whenever I have the money and want a mini vacay. But last night I had to stay there despite being checked into an already occupied room, and the clerk did check me into a vacant room after his mistake of checking me into an already occupied room, But the reason I stayed anyway was because the power on my street went out all the sudden and I wasn't sure if they were going to come back on and I didn't have minutes on my phone so I needed to be connected to WiFi so that I could put minutes on my phone. And I didn't want to stay in my stuffy apartment with no power all night especially in this type of heat, because like I said I wasn't sure if the lights/power on my street was gonna come back. It did but I still stayed at the room just in case. The restaurant was nice. Boss's Pizza! 🍕🤘🏼 Anyway, I don't need a full refund for my stay last night but I'll accept a discount for the next time I want to stay the night which will be Halloween night, Oct 31st, and I want a pool side room. The rooms are affordable btw so don't stop staying at this hotel just because of my angry review if you're reading this. I was just frustrated last night because it was right before my disability came, and I had no minutes on my phone, and the power went out on my street cutting me off from my WiFi. Also, I used to work at that hotel but it was a different name back then. I really like that...
