It still feels surreal to say that—ten million views. I’m so incredibly grateful for the continued love, support, and encouragement from each of you. What started as a small hobby has turned into something I genuinely cherish. Thank you for coming on this journey with me.
Now let’s talk about Azumi—an absolutely phenomenal sushi restaurant located in Baltimore’s prestigious financial district, with sweeping views of the water that will take your breath away.
This past Wednesday, I was invited to lunch, expecting a casual bite—but what I experienced was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I was picked up in a stunning white Corvette (yes, that kind of afternoon!), I knew this wouldn’t be an ordinary day. We parked conveniently in the attached garage, and from there, I was completely swept away.
Azumi is the definition of modern elegance. Sleek interior, calming atmosphere, and panoramic waterfront views that create the perfect setting for any occasion. Although we were originally seated at a lovely table, my companion requested we move to the sushi bar so we could watch the chefs in action—and I’m so glad he did. It added a beautiful, personal touch to the experience.
Our server, Carl, deserves special recognition. His attentiveness, professionalism, and warmth elevated the entire meal. Outstanding customer service makes all the difference, and Carl exceeded expectations in every way.
Now, for my signature drink—sparkling water with a generous serving of lime and 5 to 10 cherries (don’t judge—I love my cherries!). It was crisp, refreshing, and a perfect prelude to an incredible meal. Every bite of sushi was fresh, flavorful, and artfully presented.
While I typically take dozens of photos and videos during my visits, this time I found myself simply soaking it all in. The view, the ambiance, the food, and the company were too good not to be present for.
Azumi is a standout. Whether you’re entertaining clients, planning a romantic date, or simply treating yourself—you’ll be impressed from start to finish. I highly recommend requesting Carl if he’s available. I’ll definitely be returning.
Until next time, with...

Went to VidCon and stayed at Marriott Waterfront. It is conveniently located across from the hotel. The view and the interior were nice. Their Google phone number wasn't working at the time, but the open table for reservations is a must.
The front hostess was nice and prompt. I have 10 and 15-year-old boys who have an exquisite taste in steak. They want to go to hibachi and Azumi is chosen. I asked for hibachi and learned that it was a private room setting with only two grills they called "Flame Room"
The chef was nice. We didn't see any tricks or his skills. It was mainly the chef cooked and we ate. The boys liked their Wagyu and Miyazaki steak, but not so much on the spicy lobster miso soup that was too salty and spicy yet lacked flavors.
I ordered scallops and ribeye with lo mein noodles. As soon as the chef put my noodles, a big fly sat on it. Then the fruit fly was on my edamame that won't fly away. No matter how much I swished, it surfs on my edamame that I had to have it removed. My final draw was when another fly sat on the steak. There are so many flies in that room, that you have to fight to protect your dish rather than enjoy the food and environment.
The manager was nice enough to ask what I wanted. They said they would redo the steak when the chef had already cleaned and left the grill. And I lost my appetite. I had to box the remaining food to get covered by the flies. As you can see in the photo, the manager refunded Ribeye. But charged three people checks for 20% gratitude.
I usually tip more than I should. But, it seems they charge this to cover the refund they issued. Unfortunately, the level of service they provide didn't meet the expectations I had as soon as I entered. The place is beautiful. I don't mind paying more for the level of service, but they were lacking and were petty.
Will I come back, Nah! The food wasn't exceptional for the price point, and my scallops weren't fresh. Although I love to share my food, I don't like to share...

First, let me say that the food here is ALWAYS delicious and fresh. I also want to say both of our servers were FANTASTIC and one was even in training and he was above and beyond as a new employee. Both of these things have always been on point in my experience with Azumi.
I had to take off points for the manager and the chef for the elevation of the Flame Room “experience” vs booking a table in the standard room. I have mystery shopped on occasion (was NOT on assignment for this dinner) so I’m very aware of how management at high-end restaurants are supposed to at least introduce themselves to guests and check-in on how things are going. I’ve been to Azumi several times in the standard room where this has happened. We were the ONLY table in the flame room during our time and he walked by on several instances without as much of a glance or a hello, it felt discriminatory. Not saying that this was the case but because he made no effort to even make eye contact with us, that’s how it came off. I even established that it was my father’s 70th on the reservation so his dismissal of our table was disappointing.
The chef was meh for a Japanese steakhouse experience and barely engaged us, did not make conversation and never did the fire volcano trick that most steakhouses do. It was odd to be in a place called “The Flame Room” when there were no flames or fires presented during the “experience” dinner. He basically just cooked the food in front of us quietly and tossed an egg once or twice but that was the extent of the “experience”. Not worth the price, go to a different Japanese steakhouse for a real Hibachi experience. Save a few dollars and just book a table in the standard room instead because you are able to order the Flame room menu items in the standard room. The Flame room experience is NOT worth it and the fact that the manager on duty was so avoidant when we were the only guests in the Flame Room was a major turn-off. We came here on Wed,...
