During our recent visit, Sunday 8/11/24, to Loch Bar in Harbor East, we had the pleasure of being served by Dalanie, who provided the best service we've ever experienced at any Atlas restaurant. From the moment we sat down, Dalanie's warm and down-to-earth demeanor made us feel welcome, and her knowledge and passion for the menu were evident in every recommendation she made.
We started with the New Brunswick oysters, a suggestion from Dalanie that hit the mark perfectly. The oysters were small, plump, and sweet—just what I was craving. The mignonette sauce and freshly grated horseradish complemented the oysters beautifully, enhancing their natural flavors without overpowering them.
For my main course, I opted for the lobster salad on Boston bib lettuce, which was the light lunch I had hoped for. The fresh lobster, dressed in a tangy yuzu vinaigrette, paired wonderfully with the thinly sliced radish, red onion, and tomato. The crisp Boston bib lettuce was the perfect base, bringing all the elements together in a refreshing and satisfying dish.
My wife chose the Tenderloin Lettuce Wraps, an appetizer that served as her meal. The tenderloin was cooked to a pull-apart-perfect medium rare and paired excellently with the lettuce cups, thinly sliced kimchi, and the out-of-this-world ssamjang dipping sauce. Every bite was a delightful combination of flavors and textures.
What truly set our experience apart was Dalanie’s exceptional service. She took the time to ensure that all our needs were met, and her genuine enthusiasm for her work was evident throughout our meal. We mentioned that we live out in the Phoenix area and frequently visit Oregon Grille. Dalanie shared that she has requested a transfer to work there, and we believe she would be an incredible addition to the team at Oregon Grille. If she does make the move, we’ll be excited to see her there; if not, we now have a fantastic reason to return to Loch Bar and request her by name.
Overall, our experience at Loch Bar was outstanding, thanks in large part to Dalanie's impeccable service and the delicious food. We highly recommend Loch Bar to anyone looking for a great meal in Harbor East, and if you're lucky enough to be served by Dalanie, you're in...
Read moreI visited on Sunday oct 10 with a group of friends for a birthday celebration. We actually were going to go to capital grill originally but I canceled our reservation there in favor of here because I thought it would be better suited for an enjoyable evening. Overall things were good…. Our server was nice and friendly. The food was great… well except for my meal. I ordered the Chilean sea bass which is one of the most expensive items on the menu at 45 dollars. My meal consisted of literally a very small piece of fish in broth (?) with one stalk of something that was supposed to be asparagus. I was shocked! I’ve had this same dish in many other restaurants including capital grill where we originally were going to dine. I have no problem paying for it a la cart but (1) It should have been advised as such and (2) I was never told to order something else because it would only be a tiny piece of fish. I was extremely disappointed and felt it was a HUGE waste of money! I should have complained but my friends were happy with their food and as it was already late I didn’t want to wait for them to make something else. I wrote to the restaurant immediately via there private social media channels (ig and messenger) thinking they would offer some sort of solution but all I got was a promise of “someone to contact me” on ig and no response at all on messenger….although I can see it was read. It’s a nice enough place but I would NOT recommend ordering the fish. Update: while what I said in my original review is true I would like to say I spoke with management and they offered to make it right. I will try them again and order something else. My friends food looked tasty so I will try one of the dishes they had. I still believe Loch Bar should communicate that this item is served pretty close to a la cart so that on the future their is no dissatisfaction...
Read moreHad a fantastic time at this establishment tonight celebrating one of my colleagues leaving. Loch Bar was her 1 and only request for happy hour and we made it work. I arrived before everyone else about 5:00 p.m.-ish, and this place was packed. I barely got a seat on the corner. The good thing about the bar area here is everyone's coming and going you just my have to wait but you will get a seat. It ended up being a total of 7 of us and we had a great time the bar menu (HH Menu) is pretty fantastic, but small portions. I found more relief in ordering from the regular menu. The beverage specials are on point! They're really good although I personally ordered the wrong drink.
Collectively as a group come we ordered Classic Caesar add Chicken, Arnold Palmer Crush, Bmore Lemon Stick Crush, 1/4 Peel & Eat Shrimp, Brussel Sprouts, Oysters Rockefeller, Frose, Scallop Carpaccio, Moules Frites and Bourbon Slushie. Everything in my opinion was delicious. The only thing someone mentioned was the Oyster Rockefeller and muscles that wasn't too their liking but 2 other individuals volunteered to eat it and loved it. No one else had issue with them!
Zach was our bar person and he was fantastic. He was on the money with coming back to see when we needed stuff as well as make a show he expedited our individual bills, food containers and to go water cups so that we could leave promptly when it was time.
Another thing I like about this place besides the ambience, menu choices and clean environment is is the dress code. After 4:00 p.m. they have a posted a list of things you can not wear on their website and I really appreciate it. I to dress up when I go out and I like where everyone else does the same. It definitely puts a different spin on things and increases the caliber of this establishment visited.
Will I visit this place...
