My wife and I purchased a lot of chocolate and fudge from this location and other local businesses (1 lb. assorted homemade chocolates, 1/2 lb. penuche fudge, 1/4 lb. cranberry fudge from this place). There are no signs on the walls for homemade chocolate pricing, but they charge 20-25$/lb. depending on what you get. I'm comparing this place to similarly priced chocolate I can get in Boston for the same price and different fudges I've purchased locally this week. In short, for price this place does not come close.
For 20$+ the chocolate is very grainy and does not come remotely close to mass produced Belgian chocolate you can buy from Costco for much cheaper. The milk chocolate they use for all their products (same chocolate throughout) does not come close to the high end Boston homemade companies or the mass produced Belgian brands you can buy at places like Costco. You can taste the grainy confectioners sugar throughout and can tell they use the same batch of chocolate for all their products (I would normally be more forgiving in comparison but their pricing doesn't warrant). Their fudge is the worst of the 3 local places we've purchased from (one of which did not specialize in candies) and is very grainy. It is average at best. I would rate 3 stars but the fact they don't have any prices AT ALL on the walls and try to price gouge you on truffles to the point that a single small truffle turns out to be near 3$ takes away a star because it does not compete anywhere close to equivalently priced products ANYWHERE else we've been.
I wondered at the time if they might choose pricing based on if you appear to be a tourist. Overall, the quality is okay-good but considering the cost...

On a September 2023 trip a nostalgic trip and walk down memory lane turned sour. I bought some product there and it was stale. I returned moments later, receipt in hand, politely attempting a refund. The clerk apparently didn
t think the refund amount was "worth it" and I should just absorb the cost for the stale product. She refused to refund my credit card. I left slightly shocked as the customer. I re-thought it and returned (receipt in hand) moments later, for the refund, and was again refused till I asked ... Where is the "All sales final" sign posted? She reluctantly processed the return through my cc, all the time bullying and mimicking me about my need to recover such a small refund. She was "REFUND SHAMMING" me and until I left the store, SHE had to continually get in the last word, needle me and laugh at me in front of customers and other staff. That
s the last KANDY KORNER will ever see of me or my charge card after decades of spending there. Also, beware of aggressive pan-handlers and drug addicts soliciting your family and loved one`s while entering/exiting The Kandy...
