WORST HOTEL ON EARTH. The front desk staff is the rudest, most unfriendly and mean spirited lot I have ever encountered.
I arrived on July 5th after a 9 hour drive with my 8 & 10 y.o. daughters and small dog. We were staying 1 night and catching the Ferry the next morning on our way to Nantucket. I called before booking to get approval to bring our 20lbs dog in a cage. Upon arrival at 7:30 pm, I was abruptly told I couldn't stay at the hotel because of our dog and because my online booking stated 1 child and I had 2 with me. The front desk told me I was lying when I told them I called and got approval to bring our dog. She refused to give us the room and refused to refund the amount ($500). She told me to get off the property and called EXPEDIA to report me and permanently blocked me from the "motel".
Exhausted and defeated, I left and called AMEX TRAVEl and EXPEDIA to help me find another room - it was around 8pm. We drove in circles while I was on hold and working with Expedia. It was 4th of July weekend, everything was sold out within 30 miles. At 10:30 pm, we tearfully resigned ourselves to sleep in the car. I was trying to find the police station to park there, feeling it would be the safest.
Then I thought - hey wait! I paid for the room, I'll just go back and get access to the room, use the bathrooms and let the girls change. We'll all sleep in the car but we'll be safe in the lit parking lot and can use the bathrooms. Wala! I went back into the lobby to ask for the room key, stating that i would be sleeping in the car, in the parking lot with my 2 daughters but wanted access to the bathroom, showers and to change our clothes.
Fulia again denied our family access, knowing we would be sleeping in a car. She told me that she couldn't trust me that I wouldn't sneak my dog into the room. This really happened, couldn't make it up! Mind you, we paid for the room, she refused a refund, refused access and told me to get off her property.
Furthermore, she kept telling me to call EXPEDIA. She was on the phone with them, but wouldn't let me use her line, so she hung up and made me go through the whole "wait" on a holiday weekend to get an agent. So I did. Yes, I was desperate. I finally got an agent on the phone, then Fulia refused to speak to the Expedia Agent using my phone, and insisted that Expedia call at her desk. They did, with me on hold and she refused to answer the phone.
I have video of this event. Fulia also went on to lie to EXPEDIA stating that I insisted on bringing the dog into the room. Flat out lie.
RUN AROUND. RUDE. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. THREW A MOM AND 2 DAUGHTERS ON THE STREETS FOR THE NIGHT, WITH OUR PAID FOR HOTEL ROOM SITTING RIGHT THERE. She wouldn't even allow us to use the facilities in our room. Do not ever go...
Read moreWe stayed for 2 nights over the past weekend and had a terrible experience with the staff at this hotel. We encountered a maintenance issue our first evening, which happens- I get it. Go down to the check in desk and they don’t have any housekeeping or maintenance staff on duty. We are told they will come first thing in the morning to clean the mess. In the morning we leave for breakfast, and when we return we have fresh towels so we assume they must have cleaned as well per our request. We leave again for a few more hours, and when we return I go to the bathroom to take a shower. While I am in the shower housekeeping comes knocking on our door insisting they clean the bathroom “right now because we are leaving”. The person I am staying with tries to tell her “no. Someone is using the bathroom to shower” housekeeping is not taking no for an answer and continues to try and let herself into our room to clean the bathroom. After who I am with says “no” many more times she finally leaves. When I am finished I went down to the front desk to tell them of the situation and that housekeeping could come back. I am told “this is a language barrier and now housekeeping has left for the day”
“No” is a universally understood word and trying to let yourself into our room while someone is in the shower is at the very least, an EXTREME invasion of privacy and inappropriate As the front desk staff told me that housekeeping was gone, the housekeeping staff who tried to let herself into my room was not gone because she walked into office. Front desk staff lied to my face then did not say anything when housekeeping walked in.
This again was all because of a maintenance issue we did not cause. The room itself after that issue was fine, but the staff that works here was unprofessional, not understanding, and did not give much effort for accommodation or trying to help solve the problem. I’d never stay here again for this...
