My boyfriend and I stayed in the Crown Victorian Suite for a night, we are from South Shore and were dining at the Brazilian Grille. The room was GORGEOUS - beautiful classic furnishings, bed was perhaps my favorite part. Some people I’ve seen have referred to the Plaza as “out of date” but it’s vintage now. Plaza in its prime was high class, time has passed and we considered our stay a classic old money Cape stay. Gorgeous four poster, comfiest mattress I’ve slept on since I stayed at the Regency in Portland. I would say that the Plaza is comparable to the Regency on some levels, in terms of furnishings. Staff did not help us with our bags, but made check in/out quick and painless and everything was neat and clean. The hot tub was a lot of fun as well- the CV Suite has a red heart shaped tub on stone that feels very 70s, the only thing I wish that they would update in regards to the tub would be to add a nozzle hose so that we could rinse out the tub ourselves. The red accents in the room went well with what I had chosen to wear, not intentional but it made our night beautiful. The shower is a little basic compared to the grandness of the bed area, but improvements to be made there would be simple such as an upgraded curtain/door. No water pressure problems. There was nothing abhorrently wrong with our room or the hotel itself, some of the other reviews I feel were a little exaggerated based upon someone’s lack of instant gratification. I am partial to empathize with the gentrification/overwhelm of newcomers of our coast here on Cape Cod - I think a lot of the consequences of that weighs on the older private pillars such as the Plaza. Hyannis now has “Community Safety Officers” roaming, basically a bunch of early twenties kids my age talking to tweakers in the street to keep them docile while families run around. That’s not the fault of the Plaza, thats the fault of violently unchecked gentrification producing drug abuse and homelessness in the local community. IE, summer rich people stressing the working class to the point of homelessness, starvation and substance reliance. My family has lived on the Cape and Islands for nearly two centuries. I don’t know if I will be able to support my own family some day here, we are commercial fishermen. Used to be the golden class standard, we would need to be millionaires to live on our own where we work every single day. Poor travel choices stress out the areas you’re traveling to - make sure to support the community you wish to visit! If you don’t want to learn about the community you’re coming to, there are plenty of other places to travel. Thank you Plaza and Staff!

I stayed at the Hyannis Plaza Hotel from July 1st to July 3rd in the Princess Suite, which cost $670 for two nights. Unfortunately, our experience was deeply disappointing and far from what we expected. From the beginning, several amenities in our room were not functioning — the hairdryer, internet, and telephone were all unusable. On the second night, we discovered a leak in the bathroom that left the toilet seat, bathroom floor, and jacuzzi covered in water. To make matters worse, there was a loud verbal and physical altercation happening in the room above us, including the sound of objects being thrown. My partner went to reception to report these issues. Shockingly, the staff member began laughing at him. When my partner asked what was funny, the man responded, “You’re Irish, right? Let me tell you why I’m laughing — people here in America do not care about anyone else.” This comment was incredibly inappropriate and offensive. I am disgusted by the way my partner was spoken to and fail to see how his nationality was relevant at all. We were eventually downgraded to another room for the night and told a manager wouldn’t be available until the next morning. That new room was right beside the room where the fight had taken place — needless to say, we got no sleep. When we finally spoke with the manager the next morning, we were told to take it up with Booking.com, as we had booked through them. After pushing further, the most they would offer was a $50 check. I later emailed the hotel manager to express how upsetting the entire experience had been, only to be told that I had accepted the $50 and that I had been “clearly told there wouldn’t be any additional discount.” The manager went on to say that if the experience was so terrible, I “should have just left the hotel.” At 10PM, during a holiday week, that’s hardly a realistic option. The hotel is in poor condition, the staff were rude and dismissive, and the management handled the situation incredibly poorly. I urge anyone considering staying here to look elsewhere — this is not a place that values its guests or takes responsibility for serious issues.

Long story short yall they have roaches, rooms are dirty and communication is beyond poor. Don't go here. Find somewhere else and save yourself the frustration.

I made a 3 days reservation from Thursday to Sunday for the Plaza suit because of the tub, the pictures online looked good enough but I wasn't expecting anything great given reviews and this is only a 2 star hotel/motel. Check in was easy and the front desk clerk was friendly enough. As soon as I walked in the room it smelt musty, the room looked dirty but again.. expectations were low and I didn't think it would be great anyhow. Further inspection I realized how dirty it actually was, stains on the couch/chair, toilet paper in the toilet, hair around the toilet and tub, stains all over, what looked like lipstick on the mirror along with fingerprints/streaks. There was even a plastic coffee stirrer along side the tub. I could go on. I was disappointed but the bed looked clean and figured I'd ask the staff to vacuum and grab some cleaning wipes. Easy enough. We arrived around 730pm, hungry, as we're about to go get some food we saw a roach🙃 Thank God we hadn't taken out any of our stuff and everything was sitting on the table. We grabbed our bags and brought it to the car because I'm not about to bring bugs home with me. When asking for a refund there wasn't a manager available or anyone who could help until the next day and was told a refund wasn't guaranteed. I went back up to take pictures and left. I called the following morning and again no manager. Saturday I get ahold of someone who says they'll refund me two nights because I stayed Thursday night.. expect I didn't. She says she'll have to speak to whoever was working that night. It wasn't until today, Tuesday that I finally got in touch with someone who agreed to refund the entire reservation. That process should not have taken 5 days.

Other than all of that, the room was actually decent. It was spacious, much bigger than I thought it would be and it looked like there was a nice restaurant downstairs. I would've dealt with the cleanliness had there not been roaches in the room. What I'm most upset about is the communication and how many hoops I had to jump through to get a refund. This place has potential but unless you're okay with bringing cockroaches home with you,...
