Barnstable Recreation Department — Attraction in Barnstable

I had a horrible experience today, I paid them in advanced to rent their place for my daughters birthday party for the whole day. I arrived an hour before the party in order to set up everything, when nobody was there, and the doors were closed. I called them 7 times and nobody answered me. I had to drive from Centerville to Hyannis to go in person, since they didn’t want answer my phone calls. I saw two men sitting on their phones. I explained them the situation, they checked their calendars and my reservation wasn’t there, I had to show them my receipt. One of them was even questioning me. Why do I wanna access so early? like what ? I paid for the whole day I have the right to use it before the party. How am I supposed to set up everything before the party ? Then, they had to call several people and nobody was answering. When finally, one person answered and he gave them authorization to give me the key. It was frustrating, I didn’t have time to set up everything for my daughter’s birthday party. I am so disappointed. I don’t recommend anybody to rent their place . Besides, the tables were old and stained. They didn’t have any brooms or anything to clean after. The beach stickers are a great deal. $50 for 7 days with several beaches to choose from in Barnstable/Hyannis. Of course it's a good idea to get to the beach early if you want a prime parking spot.
