Way, say it again, WAY overpriced Mexican food and drinks that are really nothing special, especially to warrant the price. The food quality is fine and good, but again, doesn't deserve the price.
A tip, order their menu items a la carte. They don't have an a la carte menu like most restaurants in the realm --probably to not detract from their exorbitant entree prices -- but will honor it. This will cut down their super pricy ($14 basic burrito) menu a bit, and you'll only miss out on mediocre rice and beans. if you're feeling a Margarita, they are ok, and start at $12 and go up if you want anything fancy. Ouch.
With thier locations in Downtown, Old Mill, Sunriver and now Camp Sherman, it's obvious they are trying to, and are, banking on the tourists. Locals generally know better, but everyone should be aware of high prices for good -- but nothing super unique or special -- Mexican food. The service means well too, but there is always something I leave thinking should have been better.
I go back occasionally because the food is good and it's convenient, but always leave wondering why the prices are so high for what I got.
Dial back the prices a few dollars each for entrees and drinks, and it would...
Read moreI am more than disappointed in the service we received on 08/23/23. We made reservations a week in advance for a party 17 for my parents 50th wedding anniversary. On the day of the dinner we arrived and we’re told that they had repeatedly tried to call us to cancel reservation for Latin night and the person that took our reservation in the first place never should have taken the reservation. The Hola staff never called, or emailed that they couldn’t accommodate the reservation. What the staff did do was accommodate the party of 17 in the hallway (the hallway) where we got to listen to loud Latin music and watch people learn to dance right next to our table. The food…. Was not well made it did not come out within a reasonable amount of time after the first plate was dropped, the Baja burritos were soggy, the cheese enchiladas were cold and the wait staff did not check up on the table, and we had to go looking for the last two meals 15 minutes after the first meal had been dropped. The Hola staff knew this was a 50th wedding anniversary party when the reservation had been made. If I were you I would skip this restaurant all together, the food is not good and the service is...
Read moreHola! Is an amazing restraunt, good food, good service, good vibes. I've been to the one at Metolius river and Mill district previously so I had high expectations when we tried the "Downtown" one. Unfortunately the experience this time wasn't as great as the other locations. We were in a semi large group, 8 of us, seating was cramped and awkward, service was a bit uneven, they would take a few drink orders and then disappear, eventually came back for the food order, we all ordered at the same time and they eventually started bringing out dishes 2 or 3 at a time. Unfortunately one person in our party had to wait another 15 minutes for their food to come out. I ordered my favorite dish, the halibut ceviche, while it was tasty, the tiny portion really doesn't justify the price and when I ordered it at the Mill district Hola! It was about 2x the size. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, so don't be deterred from going here, they are a...
