I am really bummed to have to write this review, because I think this place could be so great if they did not treat my friends and I so badly. We called ahead to see if they had space for 3 people to watch the Broncos game. It was already the 3rd quarter of the game and they are having a sour beer festival right now so they said it was crowded but they definitely had a couple of tables. So we showed up minutes later and the hostess sent us immediately to the bar because she said there were not any tables. We walked over to the bar, which was full, but saw a couple of open tables while we were walking over there. We went back and told her the bar was full so she sat us at one of the tables. Already a weird start, but whatever. Then she insisted in seating us at the table with no view of the game even though we were very clear that is why we came in the first place. She said they were keeping the other table in case a large party showed up. She said this even though there was an empty round table in the same room that could fit like 8 people. Just made no sense, so I asked to speak to a manager. She rolled her eyes and went and got a someone else, who gave us the same line, and then walked away shaking her head. So we just sat down at the open table thinking this whole thing was ridiculous. Our waiter came over and was super chill about the whole thing, especially when I said we would move if a big party came and they really needed the table. Although very annoyed, we sat down and tried to enjoy ourselves. A few tables around us cleared, and then there was lots of space. Then the hostess and whomever the other person was that was rude to us walked by again shaking their heads and I said "You guys are in the service industry, you should be nice to people." No apology, just a "I don't want to talk to you anymore" in response and they walked off. So I got up and followed them and said, again, I wanted to speak to a manager. Finally the manager came out and said we had to leave because we were being rude to his staff. What a joke. He wasn't even going to ask for our side of the story until I asked him to listen to it. His response after hearing our side of the story, "it is what it is." And boom, we had to leave. I have to admit, the pizza we took home was great, but we'll never be going back here again, and telling everyone we know how you treated us. I think this is what happens when chill places become too successful. What a disappointment. They won't be successful for long if they treat people like...

We stopped here last week after skiing Eldo expecting great beer and good pizza at a decent rate. The ciders we ordered were delicious, and a reasonable deal for happy hour.
I grossly overspent on my pizza, as I misunderstood the expense of individual toppings (~2$ per). When it came, it was floppy, undercooked, and greasy, and the sausage was mush. Not sure what kind of cheese was used but I wasn’t pleased with the taste or texture. With some nicer ingredients and a bit more finesse with the oven temperature, I think backcountry could return to their past pie quality, but I was underwhelmed for what ended up being about a 30$ pizza. My stomach was wrenching on the way home and ultimately I never ate the leftovers.
Friend ordered tender chickens or whatever they’re called on the menu, and they seemed alright. Tater tots were probably frozen but can’t complain.
I like the classic pub styled interior but it’s definitely dated and a bit grimey for my taste. Some new booths and a good cleaning would go a long way.
Wouldn’t say backcountry is worth skipping for everyone, but I’ll be going to other restaurants when...
Read moreI hate giving a low rating, but unfortunately BCP did not earn anything. Tried to order online for pickup, The Chownow app they use is horrendous! It didn't even have the full offering of specialty pizzas on their menu. Seriously - look into "Owner" restaurant app. Tiffin's across the street has it and we order from there 2x a month with no problem. Tried to call in an order - no one picked up. Walked in, no one at the host stand, finally asked the bartender what's up, he was nice and friendly and said to just sit anywhere. It would have taken them 5 minutes to put up a sign that said this. Sat in the dining room and watched the ONE waiter take orders for 3 tables in a row. There were about 10 tables seated. After waiting for a while, we decided that with the severe understaffing it would be at least an hour before getting food. Left and went to another pizza place. This might be a great bar, but it is almost as if they don't care if they have a restaurant or not. I would love to try this neighborhood place again, but they either need to hire a dozen people, or change their setup to...
