We stay at Best Western often and in several different states. Brigham City’s is by far the worst Best Western we have stayed at. Check in and out is the slowest I’ve ever dealt with. First thing we are told is elevator doesn’t work, nor does the pool, they are both being repaired and should be working soon. Seriously? Elevator has never worked and the pool has been down for months. As we start bringing our luggage in through a back door we are hit with the odor of cigarettes. Someone upstairs is smoking in a smoke free building and our room is at the foot of the stairs. Front desk is aware and will talk to the lady. We were told a few times they would “take care of it”. It reeked of cigarettes the whole time she was there.
We were booked for two nights but got a phone call, while Christmas shopping with our kids, that if we didn’t have our belongings out by 2:00 we would be billed another night. We were already booked for another night. Really?
The room itself was clean and everything worked properly.
When checking out I made sure to take our confirmation emails with our guaranteed prices. We booked through Best Western, not a third party site. Of course we were over charged and the front desk lady (same one we dealt with the day before) couldn’t change it because cards are ran at 3:00am. What if I wanted to pay cash?!
It took 30 minutes to check out. She couldn’t find out reservation for a good 10 minutes, couldn’t fix the fact we had been over charged, but took a personal call from someone in the local jail while checking us out. She first blamed the price mix up on the motels computer because it doesn’t have enough ram. Ram has nothing to do with over charges, that is a software issue. Either there is a glitch that needs to be fixed or it is the way the software is written. Not enough ram will only make the computer slow. It might be why she was so incredibly slow, but I personal feel it was mainly an operator issue. She also blamed the over charged on the grave yard girl stating that she was probably loaded and that they needed to fire her. She also waisted our time with a lengthy explanation about the elevator and bad mouthing the contractor. I finally just walked away. If you want to stay at a very good Best Western try the one on 12th St in Ogden. Canyon Pines, in SE Ogden on the way to Morgan,...
Read moreWe stayed for a softball tournament. We had to call to reserve rooms. Some of us didn't have our room reservations saved on the list so we had to either get separate accommodations or take whatever we could get. I chose to take what I could get. I was asked if a pet-room was okay and I said yes. We have pets so assumed the room just may have some dander in it. We stayed in room 140. The room smelled so horribly we gagged and our items when we returned home had a slight stench to them still. I tried to switch rooms and was not able to. The rooms were dirty, had earwigs in the bathroom and the AC didnt work well/correctly. Either got stuffy and hot or really cold. The fold out bed mattress was not clean (had food crumbs on it) and did not have bedding. The only bedding we got for the 1st night was a sheet set on the fold out bed. The only remedy for the room smell was an offer or sanitizer spray, which was a temp help. The pool was very cold and the ceiling around the hot tub area had mold on it. The staff was in very casual dress and looked unkept but they were very friendly even though nothing was done to make us more comfortable. There were several others in group who had complaints from dirty rooms, clothes in the room, blood in the room, no AC working (95 degrees out) or smell of cigarettes that were given to the staff as well. So far, the fee on my CC has not adjusted either, we checked out early. I hope that I don't have to dispute the fees as well because I am not sure if that will even get remedied. It just felt very stinky and dirty. I cleaned the room myself with cleaning wipes and you can see the dust/dirt on the wipe. I feel like all the do is clean/change bedding & towels. Very disappointing stay. I wish I would have taken some photos. You most definitely get what you pay for, cheap isnt...
Read moreThis hotel is absolutely THE WORST! Do not waste your time and especially your money on this hotel! I tried staying at this hotel 4 years ago. The pool was closed then. I decided there was no way it could possibly be down after all this time. I went on the website to check it out. They website states they have a pool and a hot tub. I went ahead and booked the room for me and my family. My kids (I have 3) were looking forward to swimming, and me and my husband were looking forward to the hot tub. Upon checking in I glanced at the pool and there was algae growing at the bottom of the pool. They informed me that both the pool and hot tub were both closed, and have been for quite sometime. We were very disappointed, but figured we would have to deal with it. Everywhere else was already booked completely. We got our keys and went to our room. When we opened the door, one bed was made but the other was completely unmade. The blankets were bunched at the foot of the bed and the pillows were thrown on a chair next to the bed. I called the front desk and the lady told me that she was completely booked and didn't have another room, so she would have the housekeepers come fix the bed. The house keepers came in and literally just remade the bed with the exact bedding that was already on it! Then to make our stay even worse, when we went to watch the TV in the room, the screen had a message stating that there was no signal from the receiver. I went and talked to the front desk to see if they could help, and I was I formed that all of their tv's are down and they don't know why. So we had absolutely no entertainment for our children while we were there at the hotel, for an entire weekend! Friday to Sunday! If I could give this hotel a negative star...
