This hotel is super sketch. At check in I was greeted by Tyle behind bullet proof glass, as he was talking to me, Tyler kept buzzing in non-employees behind the front desk. All these people smelled of marijuana, they were super load and were looking at my guest folio paper and my credit card information. I not only felt unsafe but I felt like my privacy and identity was being compromised. The parking lot was full of people blasting music and smoking weed. Tyler ran my credit card for a $100 deposit, I told Tyler I don’t feel safe staying here and would like a refund. Tyler said no problem, he refunded me my $100, I asked about refund on my pre-paid room and tax. Tyler said no problem call this number. I left that hotel and checked into a different hotel a few miles away. I called the number Tyler gave me and Red Roof customer service said there is nothing they can do, all refunds are handled at the property level. The next morning, I returned to the hotel and spoke to the GM he was complete rude and did not show any concerns about my issues. He said he cannot control the people in his parking lot for it’s a free country and as far as them smoking weed it is legal. My response was “you can control the parking lot, it’s called security and as far as medical marijuana goes it’s is legal to smoke in your home not in public”. And what about all the non-employees you had behind the front desk looking at my personal information. His response was “it’s my hotel and I can do what I want!” I will only refund you $40 because you were in the room for four hours. I showed him a time stamp of the $100 deposit taken and then refund was less than a minute later, so how is that possible if I was in the room four hours. I also showed him my reservation time stamp of the second hotel was made five minutes after I was told it was ok to check out. I never was even given a key to a room? The GM said I don’t care about your evidence I care about what my computer says. Terrible experience and terrible GM, I told the GM is all this negative publicity really worth keeping my $58.00 his response “I care more about that $58.00 than I do my image or your opinion” Not a safe place to spend the...
Read moreI stayed at the Red Roof Inn Plus from September 26th - October 2nd, 2024.
When I was shown my room, I was pleasantly surprised at how clean, modern, and spacious it was...It was obvious that Housekeeping do their jobs very well! I was pleasantly shocked to find a box of treats in my refrigerator... compliments of the hotel.
The young lady who checked me in, Heba, was incredibly sweet, caring, friendly, and professional. I went to the office every day to see her, because her demeanor was so calming and compassionate. Heba is a rare find in the hotel industry - knowledgeable and willing to go out of her way to make every guest feel special.
I was impressed with all but one staff member. The late night clerk, Keisha, was dismissive, rude, and completely lacking in customer service skills.
I only had one negative experience during my stay...a creepy man (who appeared to be inebriated and homeless) knocked on my door late at night, asking to use my cell phone. I allowed him to make 3 calls, and he eventually left.
I was extremely unnerved by this experience, so I made sure to tell Heba - who had already called the police when she saw him acting suspiciously. Heba handled the situation with grace and tact.
The next night, I saw the same creepy man in the parking lot, AFTER Heba had ended her shift at 11:00 pm. I went to the front office to find it empty for an hour and a half.
At 12:30 am, the night clerk, Keisha, arrived. When I attempted to inform her about the previous night's encounter with this man, Keisha told me "I can't do anything about it." When I suggested she notify the police, she rudely told me that "It's not a crime for him to be walking around". I was appalled at her snarky responses - although, maybe I shouldn't have been surprised as Keisha was wearing a t-shirt that read "Not Today".
The location of this hotel, in the woods and off any main streets, had its positives and negatives. Located behind The Greene Turtle bar - the hotel's location was beautiful during the day; a bit dark and spooky after dark.
All in all, if you're looking for a less expensive hotel, you'd be hard pressed to find one that's better than the Red...
Read moreThis is my first time and will be my last time ever staying with a Red Roof Inn. I am pretty sure the glowing reviews must be for another location, because the off the beaten path Red Roof Inn at 415 Stanton can not be the same one. I checked in after spending time with my family around 4 AM. Everything smelled of cigarettes. The lobby was closed off to entry and my check in process was through a window as if I were at a gas station. We were assigned room 202. When we got into our room it smelled like body odor. It smelled as if dry naked people were in our room, although it appeared clean. I Lysol’d ferociously, especially the bed (where I later realized the smell was originating from). Shortly after the Lysol, a roach scurried from under the bed. I haven’t seen a roach in so long and for it to be in a hotel room, I was absolutely amazed. I threw baby powder on it thinking it was slow it down, but it ran under the dresser. It came back out where our then killed it. While my other half was showering before bed, I was being bug slayer/ room disinfectant pro. I was skeptical about the bed after the roach, so I suggested we just sleep with our morning travel clothes on. I realized the bed was made nicely, but the bedding was not fresh. It smelled like the people who slept there last. I found long brunette hairs stuck to the back of the pillow cases and stuck wadded in the sheets once pulled back. This was more than stray shed hairs from the cleaning person. Ironically, there was an envelope left on the dresser for tips to go towards “Patricia“ who was the room service person that apparently tends to the rooms after check out. My experience makes me believe Patricia breezed through room 202 and tidied up, but did not provide fresh linens or real cleaning. I soldiered up that night, but I am actually very disgusted. When checking out, I informed “Jess”, the front desk clerk of my experience. She told me that was weird cause no one had stayed in that room that week. No other considerations were extended by the Red Roof End staff even with my report of such a bad...
