I went with 3 other people, party if 4. My order was messed up 4 times. So our waiter told me just eat some of the messed up bag so that way I was eating with my party (didn’t want me to be left out) so I did. and the manager came to my table stared at me for about 2 mins so I asked her could I help her with something and then first thing she said was “are you eating out of the bag” so we told her what happened and she took the 2nd bag away. Then the cook came out told us nothing was wrong with the bag and the server showed him our order and still proceeded to mess it up! By the time they corrected it everyone was done eating and I was ready to go. The food was good but not worth it. 3 year update: I and a party of 6 (4 adults, 2 children) went to your restaurant yesterday for Valentine’s Day and I had almost the exact same experience. The problem started when it came to our food, my husband ordered a seafood bag, with crab meat fries on the side, I ordered a fried fish Po’boy with crab meat fries on the side, and our friends ordered seafood bags and a crab meat Po’boy. All of the seafood bags were watery, no flavor, and the crabs were soggy and slimy. Everyone was eating except for me, and by the time I got my food everyone was done eating. The guy dropping off my food said it was a fried chicken Po’boy when we told him that isn’t what I ordered, he read the receipt attached to it and corrected himself saying it was fried fish. I ate the pickle off of the food getting ready to eat it and the bar tender on the shift asked if my order was correct, I said yes. And she said didn’t you order crab fries? I said yes they are right here, she picked up my food, took it from me, and said he wasn’t supposed to bring it out to me. And I never received anything else. We also never got the side of fries we ordered, or a side of sauce. The manager on duty was very helpful and she took off all the things that were wrong and apologized. As we were leaving the waiter accidentally gave us the wrong bill and we paid someone else’s. Again the manager stepped in to help and voided it out, and gave us the correct bill to pay. I ended up going to McDonald’s to eat afterwards because I was not given any food besides 2 slices of a pickle and some crab meat fries that were cold. Because the experience was almost the exact same, I again will not give this establishment another chance. We spent $188 dollars on food and service that was...
Read moreAmazing!! (I'm so confused by some of the previous ratings on a separate Crab Du Jour Google business page 😕 - I gotta set the record straight) My family and I ate here for the first time about a week ago. The food, service, atmosphere, were all spot on! Even the COVID protocols were well placed: remote temp check & hands sanitized before being seated, physically distanced, plastic one-time-use utensils, and takeout menus instead of the general in-house menus. All of the staff we saw were fully masked. We were there around 3pm. We were seated and waited on quickly. Both hostess and waitress were friendly and polite. The food came out hot and it was DELICIOUS!! 😋 We shared a hush puppy appetizer served with a side of, what I call, a lemon butter sauce (had just a HINT of lemon in it) OMG! They, again, to me, had the SLIGHTEST HINT of crab meat flavor to them. Perfectly cook: Outstanding! I had the fried shrimp basket with cajun fries (The SHRIMP! ... LET ME TELL YOU! 😋❤️ Definitely had the never-frozen FRESH taste! Golden brown, fresh, juicy and a nice size: it can be tricky for restaurants to find the perfect balance between golden brown, fully cooked shrimp and a fried pink "rubber band" ☺️. They found the PERFECT BALANCE!) My husband had the Shrimp Po'Boy - which he loved. Our son had the kid's fried chicken strip basket (they use dark meat for the chicken strips, which were cut to kinda resemble large clam strips). He loved his food too. The prices were TOTALLY fair for FRESH SEAFOOD, and in the portions that they give. We will definitely be back! We're already lookin' at the menu plannin' our next order - I got my eye on da fried oysters 😋 If I had one recommendation for the restaurant manager/owner (and I do 😊): I would LOVE to see the basket of hush puppies as a standard, complementary item presented to the tables upon seating the customers. They are THAT good and the portion is perfect for 2 - 3 people! 🙂 Overall: we have...
Read moreI only gave this place a one because it didn't allow me to put a zero or negative numbers. Rarely have I had the combination of horrible food and horrible service. It literally took three servers and three separate trips to get our first drink order almost right and we only had four people. And after three trips they still didn't get it right we still didn't have water. We made the mistake of ordering raw oysters. The Blue points were dry and we're not cut. You literally could put a fork in them and hold up the shell. After not eating them and putting them aside. Will ordered two of the boil baskets. We tried to order more drinks but the server screwed them up again. We made the mistake of ordering one of their fruit drinks that came in a plastic container that cost $18. We now get our food, which consisted of a half a rack of crab, corn on the cob, potatoes shrimp and clams. It sounds good but it wasn't. The only thing edible was the potato and the half a rack of crab. There was so much butter that we literally couldn't find what little clams there were. We decided not to pay them the extra $3 they wanted to take off the heads of the shrimp . The shrimp was overcooked so much that the heads were just mush and we couldn't get the shells off the shrimp. The majority of the clams shells were empty and we literally could not find the loose clams through the three or four inches of butter. The corn was so saturated with butter that it was not edible and just mush. We had to ask the server for the third time for just utensils and napkins. It really looked like we were the only ones in the world that had ever asked for utensils. But we couldn't figure out how to eat the potato without them. All the servers were nice, but lacked the skills of taking a simple order. It ended up costing $200 for the four of us and all we ate was a half a rack of crab. Horrible service...
