I originally booked the room for two nights while traveling on the coast of Oregon. This is a collection of properties and I stayed in the Courtyard, room 20. The property is a couple of blocks from the main check in area. Check in was fine and May was welcoming and helpful. For that matter, the staff was friendly. I was told that someone would be at the front desk from 8a-10p. I was provided the emergency number, and a map.||The parking lot is small but free. My room was on the 2nd floor and there is no elevator. On entry to the room, my heart sank for over 325+/night. The room is dated but I can deal with that. It had a balcony with chair and the ocean was to the right. There was. a gas fireplace., king bed, seating area, small dining table, and kitchenette w/ dishes and utensils. It was a good size. The. bath had a small shower, single sink, and jetted tub. It just did not seem to be cleaned well. The bed had a comforter on it that was clearly stained. The shower had mildew/mold around it. The jets in the tub were discolored. The carpet clearly needs replacing. ||I called and expressed my concern to Maiya. She apologized and someone was there w/I the hour to change it. I did not like the fact that the person, Sean, I believe, made an excuse about the stains I showed him. Well I settled in for the night and it was quiet. However, I noticed my eyes watering. I started sneezing and my head started hurting. It was a restless night. The next morning I get up and in the bath a find a bug crawling that was it. ||I called at 8am and Pam answered. She immediately asks if I am sick. I told her I felt like I was having an allergic reaction and wanted to check out early. She looked at my reservation and said it was not refundable. I discussed this further and she tried to override it, not successful. I asked for the manager and she said he/she would not be in until 9 or 10am. I asked her to try and reach them and to give me.a call. Pam called me and told me that I would be reimbursed for the night I did not stay. She asked if I was allergic to dogs. I was taken aback. I did not know this was a room where pets were allowed. If it was mentioned I would not have booked it.||Overall, the staff was top notched. The area at the courtyard was good. The location is good. You are steps away from the beach and haystack rock. The room can be dated but cleanliness is tantamount especially if pets are allowed. ||What I appreciate about this place is the staff. I can tell they want the customer to be satisfied and that goes a long way. I think with better housekeeping, this...

The bed was very comfortable. There were even candles on timers that were magically lit when I would come in at night. Corner window and balcony provided viewing of all the going’s on. You are located right next to the beach so there are folks walking down the side street. And shop folks getting things ready for the day. All while you can see the tip of Haystack rock and watch and hear the seagulls. It had a very European small village/ Rear Window vibe about the room and I loved my morning coffee and breakfast watching it all!!! Now let’s talk service!! It was my Birthday Bucket List trip. I made mention of this to Maiya ( Front desk Manager)I booked a month in advance and from then on.. it was a complete four star experience.I was greeted with a beautiful bouquet of flowers,Yummy popcorn, sparkling champagne, which they promptly switched out for cider since I don’t care for alcohol —( I had met two best friends on a girls trip staying below, they gifted the champagne to them from me ! )Now that was a class move. I have traveled the world. Been to many beautiful properties and been treated well. But the genuine care and detail provided by Maiya and the staff was exceptional.I was checked in on via text to make sure my needs were met and if I had questions about local activities. If I did have any requests the response was immediate and professional and friendly. Ashton the Maintenance and I am sure all around do everything gentleman was another stand out with a genuine gracious ease that seems to be the gold standard for this place. My trip was cut short by two days due to family emergency. The sweetness and concern shown by the two mentioned as I was checking out was genuine and kind. This place and its people will forever hold a special place in my heart. I will be back! Thank you Maiya and Cannon Beach Hotel Collection...
