This place has a lengthy Google map history of horrible service and terrible food that goes back for years.
I honestly think that their success is due to the hundreds of thousands of uninformed, first time, unprepared visitors (like me) that pour into town, very often just to see Cannon Beach's Haystack Rock attraction.
The Seashore Bagel Deli and Espresso lives up to its bad reputation with avengeance. My coffee was tinted water and it still cost me nearly $5 to find that out when I took my first sip while standing in front of Haystack.
For people with plenty of leisure time and disposable incomes, this will be a cute story about the crappy looking little shop with horrible coffee, pathetic food and the crafty shop keeper who pretended to be incompetent as she raked in buckets of cash, hourly.
For people like me who started 2017 making $10+ per hour at my part time job, setting aside 75¢ to $1 each day all year, for a 24 hr "bucket list" visit to Cannon Beach before my cancer finally takes that option away from me, it was sad to spend an hour's pre-taxed pay on such a disappointing experience. Thank goodness Haystack at low tide was so wonderful.
I doubt I'll ever make it back again. My advice to every traveler who WANTS to enjoy Cannon Beach and NEEDS to do it within a budget, bring a thermos and your own food. You'll easily save $25 to$50 per person, per visit on snacks and a single meal.
My last bit of advice for those of us who want to support the local businesses and still get at least what they pay for, avoid the "Nightmare on S. Hemlock Street".
That's Seashore Bagel Deli and Espresso at 1188 S. Hemlock Street, Cannon Beach. It could definitely add poison to an otherwise fantastic day...

Read moreStopped in hoping for a quick cheap snack...a bagel can't be too much right? Wrong. Me and my friends ordered a pizza bagel (marinara and mozzarella) for $11 and then a bagel with cream cheese and turkey plus a water for a whopping $17. That's $28 for two bagels and a water. Now to be fair, they did put a lot of turkey on my cream cheese + turkey bagel, which i was thankful for, the food wasn't bad it just wasn't worth $28. Also, just a warning, there is a new sales tax on delis in Canon Beach, so the price was even higher than normal. The woman at the cash register was unfriendly and typed all of the transactions in by hand, making each transaction very long and making the line go very slow. She also...didn't ask us what kind of bagel we wanted? Which seems like a very strange thing to not ask at a bagel shop. They didn't even default to plain, they just grabbed random bagels, so our pizza bagel was on a sesame bagel which was kind of strange. Further, the man behind the counter wasn't wearing gloves which made me a little nervous to eat my food.
Overall, the food wasn't bad, just grossly overpriced and served...
