UPDATED REVIEW: last night my wife and I decided to come here for a tasty dinner, based on our visit 6 months ago. The experience was so bad that I felt I needed to update this review from 6 months ago. Starting with the 3 calls it took to make a reservation, to the completely clueless wait staff of 2 on a Saturday night, and the amateur cook that was filling in for a chef (I assume), this place needs a lot of help. You could hear the constant arguing from the cook and one of the waitresses, as if we were all there to watch them act it out instead of them being there to service their guests. There was a 40 minute wait between salad dish and Entre dish. There was not even a piece of bad bread to hold us through this ridiculous wait. Food was cold, in all 3 dishes we had. My steak was so flavorless I couldn't even finish it. My wife has an eggplant Monaco (described as eggplant parmesan) that was so spicy very few people could eat it. Either make the dish right or warn your customer they need to love seriously spicy. A lobster ravioli boiled to infinity where the lobster was a rock and the pasta almost completely broken. The caprese salad was ok, but I mean, that's a hard one to build wrong as nothing in it is cooked. The bread was like what you bake when you are learning to play with dough. We both went to the bathroom after getting back home, to kind of wrap up the experience. A $315 dollar dinner for two that will go down in our books as the worst possible operation we have ever seen and paid to see. I guess the music was good and I guess everybody can have a bad night. But not for those prices. Not here where you come for special events. If you are not ready for primetime, Then don't take SO many reservations. Any good manager knows that so it goes to show this is a ship without a captain. Manage yourself better. This was a joke; an example of what a sh$t show is all about. Soooo sad.
ORIGINAl REVIEW (5 stars) We stopped here, early evening on a Saturday. Party of 3. It was fairly busy evening already and they found a way to accommodate us (with a 7 year old) in the last open table but with a 1.5 hr deadline to finish dinner which was plenty. They had a lot of amazing specials and a very well curated menu. We had one of the most unexpected delicious and pleasant dinners we have had in a very long time. This is a fantastic little gem in Cannon Beach everybody should try. The front room staff is fabulous and the kitchen is spectacular. Enjoy!! (Pls make a...
Read moreWe liked Josh and his predecessor so much we made consecutive dinner reservations for five nights of our 8 day vacation in Cannon Beach and Josh didn’t disappoint - each night we were offered not only the varied menu items but the ability to cherry pick and order individual dishes from the chef’s Prix fixe Menu. The green salad with fresh berries and goat cheese and pecans is a WONDERFUL way to begin a Josh meal. Exquisite lettuces sourced from private growers and berries bursting with flavor - oh I could go on an on. The dressing is out of this world and you can mop some up with their homemade focaccia bread slathered with their VERY addictive herb/garlic butter. I had the Tiger Prawns the 1st night and my partner had the salmon. Both dishes shined with special sauces and complimentary starches - mine had a polenta cake also surrounded with local veggies -all in their respective different sauces- truly a meal to take your time with and savor! I could go on but this review will be too long. TRUST ME - if you like ‘dining’ the old world way, hearing a marvelous background music selection that does not interfere with conversation but contributes to the joy of life and good food, come here! This is NOT a modern hip place. The food is but this is old world dining at its most intimate and careful attention to all details. Take your time, plan on a relaxing dinner, and let Josh and company thrill you. Reservations a must! Come early - 5 to 5:30 pm is a good...

After a BRUTAL week, my wonderful hubby treated me to dinner out at The Little Yellow House here in Cannon Beach where he’d done signage for the wonderful new owners. I will just say that this was the most AMAZING meal I’ve had for quite some time. The service was exemplary, the texture, flavors, and quality of each item in our multi phased dinner was off the charts! This young couple who makes up the Chef and wife team that runs this operation is not anything you’d expect in a small coastal town like ours, they are New York, Boston, San Francisco level culinary performers. We are SO FORTUNATE to have them here locally! This was an absolute delight of an evening for us and a special night out for any of our visiting tourists. Absolute perfection. And did I mention they have a superb Walla Walla wine on the menu? Yahhhhh…, and the majority of the folks around us also ordered at bottle or at least a glass (or 2) of this beautiful Cabernet Sauvignon ♥️ Well done folks, see you again...
