We have been visiting Cannon Beach for years and years. If you want to pay insane prices eat at this place. Our family of 4 ordered 2 grilled cheese sandwiches which they say is full of cheese but was very basic. They say it comes with a side of pickles which made me laugh because they threw like 3 pieces of dill pickles in the box with the grilled cheese sandwiches. Their fish and chips were $26.00, a cup of ginger soup was 7.00 so a basic grilled cheese on subpar store purchased sourdough with 3 small pieces of dill pickle slices and a small cup of ginger soup with tip and my .70 paperbox was a total of $23.54! My husband went in and picked it up the dinner and was shocked to see the price of $102.00. He didn’t say anything to the restaurant but was shocked. They don’t post their prices and this is why… we ordered “to go” and they automatically add a 18% tip to all take out orders. Then they also charge .70 on each to go box (basically what they put your food in- they said it’s biodegradable box but it’s a very basic paper box.) This place thinks very highly of themselves to be so elusive about their fees and absolutely greedy. We went to pelican for our families dinner last night and all had amazing meals and drinks and it was 120.00 with a good tip. So many places with good quality food and better prices. Just thought I can warn others...
Read moreWe arrived in Cannon Beach around 5:30pm. Around 6:30pm, we decided to head to dinner. We were not sure on where to go but decided to stop into Screw & Brew. I wish we had researched a little more on where to go. I didn’t mind the eclectic atmosphere (you dine in the middle of a hardware store)… but, the food was sub par at best and EXTREMELY overpriced. I had the halibut burger with fries. The menu said it was $23 which is pricey but I understood it was halibut which typically is more expensive. I was surprised to find out that the fries cost $3 extra. (Yes, the menu indicated this but I had not read this part). I have never been to a diner type restaurant where they charge you extra for your fries (usually burgers come with fries). For $26, the halibut burger was just okay. It was standard iceberg lettuce, pickles and tomatoes. The fish was fried (which I asked for) but was a small amount. My son ordered clam chowder and it was nearly inedible. It was very, very salty. My husband got oyster shooters which he said were good. For 4 meals, an appetizer and 1 beer - the total was $162 after tip. (Yes I still tipped our server). She did her job.. so no complaints but also nothing to rave about. For $162, I would expect excellent food. Sadly, this was a very...

Typically I like spicy but hard to turn down a Korean style soup in a coastal town hang out. Tender pulled pork with melting your mouth garbanzo beans and a soup that was actually not spic/hot but deliciously kimchi based. Hot damn. The server told me the woman sitting next to me had concocted the whole thing. Brooklyn (pictured here) was the creative chef. I asked her how she had done it and listened to her process with growing appreciation. She MADE the kimchi herself and then put it together with a couple of choice ingredients, including the pork and garbanzo beans, and let her Instapot do the magic to create something amazingly delicious. Perfect and hearty for a cold and rainy day. I would've gladly had a second bowl.
During the epic ice storm in January: Ordered three Ecola Burgers to go. Each had specific dietary restrictions -- expert staff didn't blink. While waiting for the order, asked for some fresh Oyster shooters. They go for $3/ oyster. Simply delicious. Their sauce has a subtle but beautiful kick. Burgers were delicious and came with Tillamook cheese. No photos bc we ate...
