Note: Photos attached are NOT Lands End.
We reserved a room for 3 nights and when we got there, it had a horrible smell. We opened all the windows and sliders and left for an hour. When we came back, it was still unbearable and I had a migraine after being in the room less than 30m. The office clerk, Brett, is the probably the rudest, unprofessional, unethical, and childish person I’ve ever met. I went to the front desk to tell them of the odor and the woman said the carpet was just replaced and that must be the smell. I said it was making me feel sick and I couldn’t stay in the room. Brett freaked out and stomped around like a child and said he was keeping one night’s fee. He said I booked the room over a month ago, his ONLY concern is revenue. Yea, I booked it because I was planning on staying there…but it was not inhabitable which was THEIR fault. Not once did he apologize or have an ounce of concern for us. We drove 5 hours and were stuck without a room on spring break weekend. He couldn’t have cared less, never did he even express a tinge of kindness towards us. He has an extreme anger problem, I was shocked at his behavior. I told him he certainly was not going to charge me for a room that was unfit to stay in (even though he was trying to intimidate me). That is just unheard of - we give you a room you can’t stay in but still have to pay us?! Truth be told, I was happy to be out of the hotel. The hotel is run down, the room is very dingy, the furniture is worn out and uncomfortable and the view is not good. Luckily I found the top rated Hallmark resort which was heavenly AND $50 cheaper per night. It was clean and so extremely comfortable. I’ve attached a photo of my beautiful room and view at Hallmark, which was just down the road and so much less money and way, way better all around. The front desk people were amazing and even apologized for how Lands...
Read moreMy husband did the hotel planning and to be honest when we first got here I was a little nervous. It looked a little outdated, and when the hotel attendant asked of we had dogs staying with us, I thought oh no our room is going to smell like wet dog from other guests who brought their dogs. This turned out to be one of my very favorite places and our stay was perfect. Some of the things we loved about Lands End was how close it was walking distance to everything in town. They also provided free bags of microwave popcorn and a bunch of older dvds, so every night after our outing for the day, we would come back to our room, open our patio door so we could listen to the ocean, turned on a movie, had a fire in the fireplace, ate popcorn and relaxed. It was perfect
Another thing I loved was they don't have housekeeping. No one bothers you or you don't have to hide things before you leave for the day. They leave you alone. If you needed more towels in your stay then you put a bag of wet towels outside your door and they deliver fresh ones later in the day to your doorstep. Also, every night they deliver a compressed firelog on your doorstep so you can have a fire in the fireplace. We had one eveynight. It just added to how cozy this place is. This will forever be the place we stay when we come...
Read moreWe spent 4 wonderful nights at this property. Check-in was a breeze and the front office personnel was kind, yet professional. The room we initially booked was a studio. It was clean, warm, and comfortable. There was a balcony, fireplace, and a fridge + microwave. During our initial evening the front desk called to ask if we wanted a room upgrade for the following day...! So we opted to change rooms. The second room faced the beach, was clean, warm, and comfortable! It also had a jetted tub (single person sized), a full kitchen, and fireplace.
NOTE: All rooms are pet friendly!
From the windows we could see the lighthouse and coastal rock formation to the North. The property is literally 2 blocks from main businesses and borders the beach.
During our stay a weather front also pushed in a dropped 5" of snow! Snow on the beach 2019!
It was an amazing stay, at an amazingly good property, in an amazing coastal town.
