I honestly enjoyed the authentic Puerto Rican food, however the service was subpar. We didn’t know you had to ask to split the bill before (All the other restaurants in the area did it when we payed.) When we asked him to he said he couldn’t, I asked why, and he said we didn’t tell him when we ordered. It was 3 of us. The bill was $50, and so we were figuring out how to pay together but separately. He then came and split the bills, and mine was $25, another was $26, & $15 for the other. He charged us $16 extra to split up the bills with an extra tip. When I asked why mine was $25 (I ordered a $7 1/2 chicken, $4 vegetable, & $5 rice and beans he said tip was included.) so $16 in food but I paid $25. The kicker is I always tip my bill and post on my socials to get more customers for restaurants. I did free UGC for other restaurants in the area that gave good service. I don’t even typically write reviews, but he really got me with the tip is included, and charging us all extra for no reason. There are 1000s of other local restaurants to go to that don’t rush you out, overcharge you, and have bad service. We ate at a sushi restaurant the next night and tipped over...
Read moreOn our last day in PR and I was smelling roast pork from our hotel across the street. We’ve been eating mofongo throughout our 7-day visit to the island from the east end of Farjardo to the west coast of Aguadilla. This place was memorable and not disappointing! The yucca mofongo was the best we tried from the countless restaurants we attended. The pernil y arroz con habichuela was incredible. I wanted to stuff it in my luggage and take it home. My son had rotisserie chicken and my wife the chuleta and both were magnificent; tender, not dried out and full of flavors. The wait for the food was a bit longer but, possibly it was because our mouths were watering from the roasted pork aromas lingering in the air. When our feast concluded we shared a pistachio tres leche that was light, not overly sweetened and melted in our mouths. I would have paid three times the price of our check. Which is my last point, my kids could have paid for the bill. The bill was less than lunch for 2 adults, and that’s with 2 Medallas. I highly recommend you visit this restaurant. I have placed this restaurant to be my new go-to place once I land...

My family and I were staying at the Hampton Inn across the street. We had dinner at Diego’s the night before and absolutely loved it. The pernil was excellent, and everything we tried was delicious — we even mentioned to the staff that we came because we saw it recommended on TikTok.
Unfortunately, when we returned the next morning for breakfast, the experience was completely different. The service was disappointing and made my family feel unwelcome. It seemed like we were being treated as an inconvenience, and at one point, a Dominican staff member was openly complaining to local customers about us having to wait & that she wasnt going to serve us— which was both unprofessional and disheartening. So we left.
Bottom line: The food is great, but I wouldn’t recommend going during breakfast hours unless you’re a local. The difference in how we were treated was hard to ignore, and it's the only reason we...
