Me and my friend while visiting Chicago did some shopping. All the stores we went into the employees immediately greeted us and were attentive even talking to us while checking out but then we went in here. As a previous retail store manager I walked in and didn’t even know if there was employee inside. Then I saw there was only one employee at the register and two girls in the store “shopping”. We walked passed her and didn’t get a hello or even a hi. We weren’t asked if we needed help. We realized the two girls in the store were stealing. It seemed easy to get away with it since the employee wasn’t paying no attention to anyone. My friend wanted to get t shirts and I stopped her from spending that much money in the store as it seemed the employee could careless if we bought something or not. I bought a keychain for $5. When going to the register after saying hello myself I didn’t even get acknowledged. Not a hi how are you, nothing. Rang me up gave me my receipt. Didn’t say thank you or asked me if I needed a bag. While walking out my friend mentioned the disappointment of our experience here and how easy it might be to steal since no one was paying attention. We were sept 3, 2020 at 2:00 pm. Employee was a African American girl. Seemed like she didn’t want to be here. User LRH ticket # 38-42045. What a...
Read moreI had to buy a gift for an out of town colleague who is speaking at an event hosted by us. The best idea was to buy a Chicago skyline/shoreline picture to be framed. After visiting several stores in the area, including state street souvenirs, Macy's, Walgreens, museum of illusion, bye bye Chicago and My Chicago, I was directed by the last shop to try "I love Chicago" on the other side of the building on the same street.
Et voila they had the best choices and at a reasonable price. Frankly I think this store has the best choices for a bit more generous spend and I think it is well spent. The other stores sell almost identical products and are affordable if you are on a budget of less than $20.
"I ❤️ Chicago" has a bit more variety and are certainly the only one that sells panoramic views of Chicago shoreline, skyline and more which are a bit more expensive at $35 and above . And it took me all of 3 miles to discover this...
Read moreDiscrimination at its finest. I went into this store last week visiting with my mother for the day. What I thought was a friendly conversation between an employee and my jacket was actually a Loss Prevention tactic to show that he was watching me while I shopped. When leaving the store my mother told me that employee pointed at me and my mother and told his coworkers to "watch them". How disgusting. I'm genuinely hurt and embarrassed that I walked into a store and had a genuine conversation with an employee who saw me as less. Even foolishly while walking out the store after our purchase telling him to have a good day and take care. Whole time I was a threat in his eyes. If you come here and are a POC, be careful. They are not too fond...
