Stayed in Chicago for the weekend and had the opportunity to visit the Blackhawks store on Michigan Avenue in Chicago. Walked over on a Friday morning to get there right after opening. The store has some good historical pieces in the first floor lobby. Walked up the stairs to the store past the history of the uni's and the Lego Hawks Logo to the merchandise. They have a decent selection for men, women, and youths. Some decor items. It was mid December so they had ornaments and other Christmas themed items. Was hoping for a little more selection among the jerseys. Barely any of the old greats to choose from. How come I can never find a jersey for anyone that played in the 90s except Chelios? Roenick, Daze, Crazy Eddie, Amonte. Glad we got here when they opened, within an hour the store was full of customers. Super friendly staff and as expected prices! Would love to post some photos, apparently Google Maps doesn't want to give me access to the...

While a much better location than previously, it still needs some work. The window display facing north on Michigan is pretty sad considering how much of a splash this location is supposed to make. They couldn't hire some professional window dressers to put something other than two skinny mannequins in the window? In that prime of a space? They also need more gripping lighting/signage to make it stand out more.
If you don't like what you see here, if you head down Madison to Gunzo's they have merchandise you won't find here. Between the two you...
Read moreA small store in an odd location (second floor of a candy store?) considering the huge legacy of the Blackhawks. I'm a big fan that was visiting from out of town, and was disappointed by the inconsistent selection. A lot of the fan gear seems gaudy and unwearable on a daily basis. Just give me some t-shirts, sweatshirts, and hats. I was surprised how little character the store had considering how big the character of the team is. My guess is it's operated by a third party and doesn't have a lot of connection to the team or its fans. But hey, it's still the...
