Got take out hibachi and sushi and was a little disappointed with how bland everything was. There just wasn’t much flavor in general (for both the hibachi and sushi) and I don’t think my steak for my hibachi was seasoned at all. This was my first time eating here so I’m not sure if it’s always like that or was just a one time quality control issue
I did like that I could request that my sushi roll be deep fried (for $1 extra) if it wasn’t already a deep fried roll. A lot of sushi places don’t give you the option to deep fry (at least explicitly on the menu/website), but that’s how I prefer my sushi. However, I wasn’t a huge fan of the kind of batter/breading it was fried in. I’m sure some people like it (my boyfriend did) but it just wasn’t my personal preference. I like more of a batter but theirs is more of a breading.
I did like that there were some customization options for the sushi through the website when placing an online order. A lot of sushi restaurants don’t provide explicit customization options, so that was nice. However, the given options were somewhat limited.
Also wasn’t a huge fan of being charged extra for getting fried rice with my hibachi instead of white rice. Fried rice has always been assumed to be included for no extra charge in my experience with other hibachi...
Read more*Update -I told the server about everything being wrong when she finally came back asked if I wanted a box. I told her she should have her manager atleast take off my meal since I didn't eat it and it was all wrong. She said ok. Came back with the full bill. We just paid and left. Will never be back and highly advise you do the same. * I chose this steakhouse because of the ratings so felt it was only fair to leave mine after our experience. Long story short, our server seemed upset we weren’t a full table, forgot our drink order, wasn’t happy when we had to ask again for the missing drink, got our food order wrong which of course we had no way of knowing and can’t be fixed once the chef has made it and it’s put in front of you. We both ordered full filet meals, appetizers and drinks , so nothing too cheap. Server never came back to refill drinks or check in, still here, 20 minutes after food service and she still isn’t back to offer boxes or get a check. I worked for 2 Japanese steak houses. Read moreI took a senior community group there for lunch today. They had the best time. The chef was charismatic, engaging, and put on a great show while preparing some amazing food. But, the show stopper was definitely the sushi and spring rolls! The Hilliard roll was something you would never expect and the sushi with eel(can’t remember the name) so delicious.
They also make a house ginger salad dressing. You will never want yum yum sauce again after tasting it. I ended up asking for it to eat on my steak and shrimp instead of yum yum.
The service was beyond our expectations as they staff helped with the residents in wheel chairs, were patient for those who maybe have been a little hard of hearing, and gave the ladies a small box of chocolates afterwards.
