The motel was dirty. The first room had holes in the walls that allowed noise and smoke from non-smoking rooms to enter the room. The second room had locks that were not locking. The management blamed settlement of the building for the doors sinking below the lock slots. Upon inspection, the steel door frame was about 1/8 inch too high from the bottom of the lock slide area and appeared to be at that level for a long time as previous customers wore out the areas to a shining metal with their attempts to lock the door. The wobbly plate was removed with difficulty as the stripped threads of the bolts did not want to come out. Eventually, the manager gave up on fixing the door lock as we waited patiently and gave us a third room. There the bathtub drain did not open and the shower became a bath pretty soon as the water did not drain. The whole room was dirty both with stuff on the floor that stuck to your feet and with various dried out fluids on the walls that were plentifully applied throughout the room. The management economized on soap and shampoo which were not present in any quantities. The sink dripped and the toilet valve was seeping and would upon occasion burst out in a rush of replacement water to replace the seeping water. The staff did not know the area and could not direct us to public transportation, especially the rail system which was a mile or two away or the bus stop which was almost directly behind their place. The internet did not work. Wifi signal was fine but the actual connection to the internet was not occurring. Other customers had similar problems and the staff blamed the customers own equipment for the connectivity problems. They would point to their own phones and say see it works. We took one of their phones and actually connected to their wifi system instead of phone company's network and it too did not work. Only after wasting a half hour, did they admit that their modem was not connected to the internet for a number of days. Everything with the management would be acceptable in India but it was the USA and our standards were not being met by the management team. The place was run down and deferred maintenance was visible throughout the place. The attitude was worse... Overall a third world experience at American prices. Our experience at other Motel 6 far exceeded that at this stay. Will never go back to this dump even if it is Motel 6 and Tom Odett keeps...
Read moreAs the title says run away fast. At check in we noticed a sign that stated not visitors. I asked why that is and they stated that they are not allowed. We were there in the first place to see some friends and they were due to stop by during our visit. After we check in and get to our room, as we are walking in, we notice that the pictures on the website are nothing like the room at all. No carpet, no chair, and a platform bed that if the mattress slides, it will hurt your shin or cause you other injuries. I go down to desk to inquire about it and he states that there is nothing he can do. I go back to room and decide that I am going to shower and as soon as I walk into bathroom I notice hair in the tub. There was also hair on the towels and on the toilet. The hair in the tub was private hair and the hair on the towels were long.. I go back down to the desk once again and he states that it is probably my hair that I put there. At this point I ask if he wants me to drop my drawers and prove its not my pubic hair and how would it be my hair on the towels and all when the hair is very long and I have very short hair. At this point he stated he would refund us. He did not offer another room. When I get back to the room to fill my husband in, he has pulled the blankets back and is about to gag due to the hair and fluid stains that had been left on the sheets. So at 4am, we are trying to find another hotel but stuck in the situation that if we check in to another hotel, we will then be checking back out shortly. It was finally the next evening when we were able to lay down because being in town for friends and family. we could not cancel our plans. I am sorry to be so forward but if you do not want the sexual comments made when you find hair in the tub hen do not stay here. And no the pictures for this place is nothing like the...
Read moreThe staff was basically non-existent & when they were available, they were rude. We travel with pets, so we always make Motel 6 our go to home away home.
We arrived Friday afternoon for an evening concert. We checked in & introduced our pets & got them all settled & went to concert. All good til Saturday. We went driving around to locate the graves of two of my brother's to get our first look at their head stones, and my mother's grave as well. After a long day, we arrived back at the hotel at 4pm looking forward to a great time relaxing in the hot tube & pool before our 8pm dinner reservations at Ruth's Chriss Steakhouse.
We were met with a catastrophe! Our room was next to the laundry, no bother to us. But a pipe broke and flooding our room. They weren't aware until the guest in the next room complained about water seeping into their room. At that point, the manager entered our room, turned off the water at the valve under our sink.
They made no effort to clean our room. They just left our room flooded & closed the door leaving our cats stuck stranded on the beds unable to get to their food or litter box. The bathroom trash can & litter box was overflowing. We splashed into standing water & distressed pets! They offered to move us to a 2nd floor room. I am disabled & this just was not a good fix. We waded in, packed up, cancelled our dinner reservations & left Dallas & a special trip that I planned for 5 months behind. My husband is so outraged he has vowed never to go to Dallas again. The jury is still out on Motel 6, our all time favorite for at least 10 years.
The manager said our room would not have flooded if we had been there to report the broken pipe. They tried to make it our fault because we left the hotel for a few hours....
