Destin Pointe Vacation Rentals — Hotel in Destin

After spending our family vacation at Destin Pointe, I can honestly say I won’t be staying in a hotel ever again. It’s so worth the extra money! These guys were awesome!! Everything is very well maintained, the condos you rent look EXACTLY like the photos which is a nice change and the staff is so sweet and helpful. My ONLY complaint is the advertising for the beach access. We followed the signs outside our condo to the beach access for Destin Pointe but when we got there and set up, we were asked to move so that the chair rentals could be set up and then asked to move again(outside the chair rental) because it wasn’t “the beach for Destin Pointe” which we were then told it was all the way at the other side of the Jetty, which was NOT put on the signs or made clear on the website. The signs only indicated that the path ahead was access to their beach and when you get to the beach, there are no signs indicating that you have to go down the beach to access Destin Pointes Beach. Beware too that ALL the boats for the excursions go right up on the beach right there so there really is no safe place to play in the ocean unless you hike outside the jetty(again not made known on the beach access information online or on the signs). Not a deal breaker just something I want to make known so that others don’t make our same mistake when assuming the signs would point you in the right direction. Would stay here again though and now that we know where we need to be, we can not waste so much...

Magnolia House- Destin, FL - Unit #304 Terrible experience! We vacationed at a Vacasa condominium that was advertised as upgraded and nee and we were shocked upon entry to find mildewed windows and cob webs throughout the lanai area. The carpet was stained and the unit had missing door knobs and tiles that were old and dirty. We had to wear shower shoes the entire time. Appliances were old and the patio door required body-building strength to open and close. One bed smelled of urine and the hvac system didn’t cool well in the bedrooms. Garbage disposal was broken and they randomly sent a repairman to the unit to fix it without prior communication. This property rented for over $400/night which is on par with some 4-star accommodations. The blonde manager who claimed to be “the boss” was rude and chastised my son for riding an e-scooter on the property after we explained that we had previously made aware of the “no motorized vehicle” rule and we were headed back to our condo just about to get on the elevator. She was on a warpath! Sad that this had to be our vacation experience as vacations are meant to be relaxing and enjoyable. Beach access requires a 400 yar d hike across super soft sand and/or a golf cart ride I would certainly not recommend this establishment as the rooms are hit or miss, management is very rude and impolite and beach access is ridiculously arduous to get to and from. We stayed in condo 208 July 14th - July 21st. Destin Pointe gave us the keys to the unit and allowed us to check in early even though the unit was not quite ready. Huge mistake! Apparently the unit was not checked out at all before our stay which Destin Pointe says is their process. So upon our departure, we get a mysterious $120 charge on our credit card a couple of weeks later. Apparently there was a hole in the wall found after we left and that we put it there, and we were charged without even being called. When I called Destin Pointe to find out the reason for the charge, they said that we had put a hole in the wall. My husband actually saw a small hole in the wall while we were staying there but didn't know that we had to take inventory and report any damage we saw. I didn't see the hole at all. I called the owner and they wouldn't even respond to my call or email. I have never encountered any thing like this in my 20 years of staying in condo's in Destin. I will never stay at these condo's again. Apparently, the Destin Pointe process is to charge you whether you damage a unit or not. Also, we weren't impressed with this unit at all.
