I went here for new years Eve. I will never return. Their customer service is extremely poor and the staff is rude. This is what made my experience poor.

  1. When you call room service or the front desk, they do not answer the phone. I tried calling all night and morning. No one ever answered the phone.
  2. The staff seems to have an English barrier. It is difficult to communicate with the staff especially the housekeepers who mainly speak Spanish and very little English.
  3. The checkout is 11:00 am. Housekeeping came to the room just before 10:00 am. When the housekeeper knocked I said I was still in the room. She opened the front door and quickly shut it after I said again that someone was in the room.
  4. I went down stairs to the front desk since they don't answer the phones and I asked the lady at the front desk why is housekeeping at my room before 10 am and our checkout is at 11. She said sometimes they come early to see if anyone was still in the room. I then asked her if she can extend my time. She said she will give me until 12 to be out the room.
  5. After I returned to the room a second housekeeper came and knocked on the room. It is now 11:06 am. I yelled loudly that someone was in the room. I just stepped out of the shower and was getting dressed. This housekeeper opened the door widely and stood there looking at me as I hopped real fast under the bed covers because I was undressed. I said ma'am please leave. She stared as if she did not understand what I said. I then said, I am undressed and I extended my checkout for 12. She then said in her Spanish accent that no check out is at 11. She then turned around and walked out of the room and shut the door. Unacceptable!
  6. After this last encounter, I went back down to the front desk to complain on the last housekeeper walking in on me after I told her that I was in the room and then argued that my checkout was at 11:00 am. To my surprise, the housekeepers were down stairs chit chatting in the lobby. I spoke with the lady that extended my time about my second incident with the housekeeper. She looked over and started conversing to the housekeeper in Spanish. She asked me to identify the housekeeper and I said it was this one and the house keeper said "that would be me". She then rolled her eyes and proceeded speaking in Spanish to the lady at the front desk. I said I'm sorry, I do not understand Spanish and they continued to converse in Spanish and laughing... The front desk lady said, I'm sorry she was misinformed. There's nothing else I can do. I then continued saying this is unacceptable for housekeeping to walk in the room and argue with me as I am undressed. So I asked to speak with her supervisor. She said I am the supervisor on duty. If I want to speak to her boss, she gave me an email to contact. She then told me to have a nice day and that she is no longer going to talk with me since I asked to speak with her supervisor. I can address the rest of my concerns with her supervisor...
  7. I have emailed the supervisor and I also called the customer service over Clarion Inn to make a formal complaint. They gave me a case number and said that this was unacceptable. They also gave me the owners email to also get in touch with. I have yet to receive a reply or response.

Never in my life have I ever had such a poor experience in a hotel like this. They should be investigated and coached. Until they fix these issues which are pretty consistent, I would not recommend anyone to stay at this...

This place was ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! Before I delve into the negatives, let me take a moment to highlight the staff. The team here is INCREDIBLE. From the ladies at the desk to the gentleman who introduced himself as the general manager, they went above and beyond to make the best of a bad situation. My honest advice to them: you all deserve to work at a five-star hotel that matches your professionalism, dedication, and incredible work ethic. You’re truly a credit to hospitality. Now, let’s address the room itself… (see photos for reference).

First impressions? The struggle began with the door. It was either misaligned or damaged because we had to literally throw our bodies into it to get it to open. Once inside, we were greeted by a foul, sock-like odor that hit immediately. Not a great start.

Next up, we tried to turn on the TV—only to discover it wasn’t even plugged in. The ever-helpful general manager came to fix it for us, which we appreciated. However, once the TV was working, we were left watching a very small screen (likely under 32 inches) with limited channels. On top of that, the buttons on the remote required considerable effort to even change channels.

Moving on to the bathroom. To put it mildly, it was a disaster. The door wouldn’t close properly, which I suspect is due to the fact that the bottom of the door was completely rotted. Looking up, I noticed a missing light fixture, leaving a large hole in the ceiling with paint peeling around it. The ceiling also had a shoddy patch job that looked like it was done by someone with no experience. The caulking around the tub was the worst I’ve ever seen, and the mirror seemed to be barely hanging on. The sink was corroded—on the outside. And to top it all off, the water pressure in the shower was so weak it was almost unusable.

The condition of the flooring was another issue. There were huge gaps in the poorly installed engineered flooring, and, of course, I stubbed my toe. The walls had hooks where pictures might have once hung, but now they’re just bare. As for amenities? Sure, there was an ironing board—but no iron to go with it. The USB ports on every single lamp in the room didn’t work, either.

Now for the positives (if I can call them that). The pillows were soft and comfortable, which was a small comfort as we tried to forget the rest of the room. The location is also fantastic, right across the street from some of the main attractions.

In summary, the staff, pillows, and location are the only redeeming qualities of this hotel. Everything else about the room was appalling—from the smell, to the disrepair, the paper thin walls, to the complete lack of basic functionality. My advice to the owners: your incredible staff deserves a facility that matches their commitment to quality and hospitality. Until then, I cannot recommend this...

Just because the location and the price may seem like you got a really good deal do not let that fool you. The employees are cold rude and extremely unprofessional. Also just so you know they DO NOT ACCEPT ANY CASH APP, CHIME, VENMO ANY ONLINE BANKING CARDS for the deposits so even if you go ahead and you pay for your reservation already no matter how little or long it might be and when you go into actually check in they will not accept your reservation even though you've already paid for it and tell you you need to leave because they will not accept those for the deposit. I immediately called Agoda which it took down almost 2 months to even be able to get the hotel to pick up the phone or respond to an email while trying to investigate this so I can get my money back. The final verdict was the hotel refused to give me a refund basically told them no they were going to steal my money even though they did not let me stay there and they know they did not let me stay there! So after I was told this 2 months later I called the hotel to ask them why they would do that and the lady got really smart with me and asked me why I would be calling him because I was supposed to call the third party who would then call them and I was not supposed to contact them well it was my money they stole so hell yeah I contacted them. I had to stay here before and they were always really crappy but when I went to go check in this time the lady said that I should know that they don't accept that card because I had stayed there before oh yeah I had to stay there before and I use this card before so how was I supposed to know that. Do you really think I would have just thrown my hard earn money to some crappy company? Absolutely not! Unfortunately this time of year it was extremely expensive and I needed a place to stay so I found somewhere cheap and figured I'd be okay for one night clearly I was wrong I ended up having to go and get another reservation and paying for another hotel that night where I had to pay a lot more and I'm still out the money from this hotel. They are refusing to give me my money back so everybody please be aware and do not go to this hotel unless you want to get screwed over one way or another. On top of them being dirty which I like I said I stay there before they have tons of people that od there the cops are always there and this is not me just saying this because I'm upset with them this is the truth just read the reviews before you decide to waste your money here. And definitely do not pay for this hotel until you get there. I would recommend never paying ahead of time but unfortunately we have to do that a lot these days so just be careful where you spend your money and call and get all the details before you actually pay a third party company. Good luck...

The hotel was disgusting I found roaches in our room that was alive there was missing light fixtures and the back board on the beds had what looked like hand prints and someones private area was smudged onto it. The sheets where dirty and had bodily fluids on them and the room was filthy. When I originally booked the hotel over the phone with the lady with booking my husband and myself asked her if the room had two beds and a sofa bed and she said yes that it did, she also told me that the hotel also had roll out beds similar to “cots”. We told her multiple times that we had to have two beds and a pull out couch atleast for my kids to all have somewhere to sleep and she said that this hotel had all of that so that’s why we initially booked it. But unfortunately when we arrived to check in the front desk told me that they didn’t have “cots” or a room with a pull out couch and that they only had a room with two double beds. I told her then that it was going to be an issue because now I have two kids that don’t have a bed to lay there head on. But she just pretty much ignored me and was acting like it wasn’t her problem. So we went ahead and decided to atleast go and look at the room to see if we could maybe go to Walmart and buy an air mattress for them but when we walked in the room it was so disgusting and dirty that my husband and myself didn’t even want to sit on the bed much less have to have our kids sleep on the floor. So I went back to the desk and told her that the room was not going to work and that I wanted a refund and that we was leaving and she said she couldn’t do anything because her system was down and that I may or may not get a refund even though it wasn’t what we originally thought we had purchased and the fact that we was only there for maybe 30 minutes before we called it quits and turned in the keys and left. I even asked for a cleaner room and was told they didn’t have another room to move me in. So I had no choice but to drive around until almost 2am with 3 kids in the car trying to find a another hotel and being short on money because not only did I just sent 500.00 on what I thought was going to be a good hotel but I also had to now spend more money on another hotel for my kids and my husband and myself. Because the Clarinn Inn refused to give me a refund last night and or put us in a clean room that would actually accommodate all of us like it was supposed to be. But Here are some of the things I noticed in the room and I will be reporting this place to the better business bureau as well and will also be putting this review all over there google reviews.

The location of this hotel is prime. That being said, I’m shocked at how trashy it is. We stayed here for a week during Hurricane Milton, we got stuck here as all the other rooms were full, even in nearby cities and all the hotels in Clearwater in non flood zones were full too. The photos make it look nice online. But it’s not. We stayed at a king “refurbished” room. We walked in and I literally wanted to walk back out and leave. Which we would have if other rooms were available elsewhere. The bed is uncomfortable and squeaky, the shower head nozzle wasn’t screwed on right and left water spouting onto the bathroom floor every time you showered. Bad water pressure. There was a dumpy couch in the room that looks like someone was murdered on it or like it’s inhabiting a ghost. The bathroom door on the bottom was all chewed and broken. One of the lights in the room didn’t even work. The fan in the bathroom doesn’t work. There’s not even a light cover on one of the lights in the bathroom. The ironing board has this nasty stained cover on it. We checked the bed and dumpy furniture for bed bugs and it shockingly seemed clean. We never got bites while staying. I guess we were lucky. I cried because we had to wait out the storm in this dump and had no other choice. I can’t believe what they charge for these dumpy rooms. The “laundry room” looks like you would get bed bugs just from using it. Homeless people probably use it as it’s outside where you can just walk into it. The elevators were sketchy and would malfunction, one day one of the elevators doors kept opening and closing, even though nothing was in the way. Scared us bad enough we jumped out and refused to ride it the rest of the trip. Shady people seem to stay here and the staff was shady too. No wonder their check in room locks after a certain time of night. Even the check in room is unwelcoming. They don’t offer breakfast or anything. There were only 2 staff members who were nice, the nice tall guy who checked us in and out and the nice lady who helped us report a dog barking next to us which we were concerned for because it sounded like the dog was stressed out and being neglected from his cries. Poor thing. All and all… I would NEVER stay here again and wouldn’t never have stayed in the first place had we had a choice. Such a waste of a hotel with such a prime location. Too bad it’s such a dump. Oh yeah and they charge a 50$ deposit, which you never even get back even though they say you do. This hotel is a joke. Don’t walk, RUN!!!
