Hello,
I am extremely frustrated! Please assist me with my complaint by directing me to a contact for corporate. My original reservation was from June 27th to June 29. We were traveling for a swim meet. I checked out on the 28th due to the accommodations being unacceptable.
My rooms were on the "pet "friendly" wing of the hotel despite confirming "no pets". I walked the building in the early morning of the 28th noticing a distinct difference in how the other floors smelled compared to mine. Room 105 had mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. The toilet did not have sufficient power to remove waste with one flush. Paint was chipping in the tub. Calcium was built up on the shower head. The bathroom door had to be forced shut. There were stains on the bedroom floor and the room had a faint moist cigarette smoke odor.
Room 109 had similar issues. The room felt clammy. The lamp shades were stained. The grout lines of the bathroom floor transitioned from Grey to black in the higher trafficked area. This felt unhygienic. The shower head was stained with calcium deposits and the tub had chipped paint. The lamp cord in yhe bedroom was plugged in an adjacent wall socket creating a tripping hazard.
I went to the front desk and spoke with "Danny" about my concerns. He attempted to accommodate me with similar rooms on the second floor. But upon seeing the initial room with chipped paint, I declined. "Danny" explained that the building was being renovated and updates were coming soon. He showed me an image of what appeared to be marble in the bathroom. I empathize with that, but my experience was far from that image, or the images they advertised. Maybe other guests were privileged to stay in the renovated sections of the building. Danny stated that he would refund me the amount for 28th to 29th but would not consider any discount for the previous night's disappointing accommodations. I exclaimed that there was nowhere for us to go to make additional impromptu reservations due to so many families travelling and participating in this swim meet! He remained unapologetic for the accommodations.
I have videos and photos to substantiate my complaint.
Thank...

Read moreTL;DR: It's affordable and like another review says, you get what you pay for. We arrived at this hotel, and it looks very impressive from the outside. The inside does have a bit of a funky odor, and there are several printer-paper signs advertising that you have to sign into the pool and get a "wrist belt" or you get charged an exorbitant fee (like $500).
When I asked the receptionist the reason for this bizarre rule, he just said, "Rules are rules."
Fair, I guess.
I decided I had to see this impressive pool that was under such intense guardsmanship. What I found was a clean patio with plastic lounge chairs, which is fine.
What was not fine was the pool having many bugs and leaves in it, and no net or means for guests to clean it if they choose.
The breakfast was... Fine. It was perfectly serviceable, and the biscuits and gravy was pretty good, uf you cut up some sausage links in it.
That being said, the highlight of this place is the friendliness of the staff. All of the cleaning staff were very professional and greeted us every time we saw them. There aren't many people running this place, and it's impressive that they manage what they do.
One other thing ro note, the hallways are DARK, so people with sight impairment may have a hard time navigating.
The price is great. Very affordable and convenient for a quick stay or a night away.
So, you get what you pay for. 3/5 (but...
