We had checked in and a friend came to help unload (I am limited on what I can lift, partly why I am on disability). Right Off, the office/owners started saying to my husband and friend, No Guests! No Cooking! No Cooking! over & over. I went to the front desk and explained the situation. I was told, "Oh Alright 😊 No Problem 👍"
Now mind you, their rooms are by far some of The Cleanest & Nicest Rooms that I have stayed in &/or have seen amongst the ones which are "budget friendly" however, the management/office staff/owners seem to be prejudice and they were also very rude.
The very next morning, at 8:00am: ``👊✊👊✊👊"Housekeeping!" Ignoring the Do Not Disturb sign we hung on the door so we would not be bothered by housekeeping, as we were Not in need of anything. I think I may have used the bathroom once prior to finally falling asleep. So there was barely anything even used. I politely replied, "No Thank You, We don't need anything" Again: "👊✊ Housekeeping, We Sweep Floor, Everyday" I open the door and tried to explain that I had just been able to fall asleep 3 hours prior and we truly didn't need a thing. The housekeeper said she had to ask owner & took off down the stairs. One minute later she returns with the office manager to tell me that they need to check the room, that they will check the room each and every day and before he turned away, he said he wanted to remind us there is No Cooking in the rooms. I had paid reservations for several nights at this place and at that moment I had enough of the harassment. Yes, I said harassment as it very much was was they seen my husband and his friend; they attitude towards me quickly changed and we were pinned as partiers and possible drug users. I was floored! As a business they should be mindful of who is stay at their establishment, however, they also should not be so quick to judge every "book by their cover" - it cost them. I realize they may not have lost anymore what it cost to pay someone to clean the room twice in order to have it available for another guest, but I had immediately asked for a refund and I got it
😡 I will Never stay at the Super 8 in Elkhart...
Read moreThings started okay. The check in was awkward with the customer service rep stating he "would be surprised if Bethany put our roll away bed in the room because she doesn't remember to do anything". Roll away was indeed put in the room, so yay for Bethany. We checked in on Thursday, Friday we left early to go to a conference and as customary went to the lobby for the complimentary breakfast, got coffee a banana and yogurt for my daughter and in took it back to the room to enjoy while we got ready for our early meetings. Perfect. Saturday we start the same routine. Head to the lobby for coffee, yogurt, and banana. A rep there told us we couldn't take the coffee and food to our room. A banana and yogurt. I asked him why and he told me because it could make a mess. I reminded him that our rooms had refrigerators and a microwave, but still no food was allowed? He again stated, "right, no food allowed". So I then asked, " so why have a microwave or a fridge in the room?". Then I got a shoulder shrug. So I set my banana and 4 oz, highly messy and controversial yogurt on the counter and left. Thank God my daughter already had our coffee back to our room. I have NEVER heard anything so bizarre and ridiculous before! Even typing this out I'm laughing at the absurdity. Now I know why this was the last hotel to have any rooms available during a high conference week. Will not...
Read moreStood here a few days ago for a few days. Very nice owners and staff at this hotel (new owner) and they pride themselves on keeping a clean environment, however they are challenged by the unclean meth pandemic and the crowds that try to utilize their nice hotel. Even after being told to stay away the ugly dealers and the users they supply continue to do their thing, all night long. Hotel needs the money to keep the lights on, which is unfortunate for them to have to deal with those issues sometimes. Elkhart has nice folk, although it is general area is riddled with a meth (drug) plague which doesn't seem to be going away any time soon. The slicky sneaky dealers wear masks going in and out of hotels looking like bank robbers entering a bank, which looks creepy as heck. I can't imagine how families with children feel when seeing this activity going on around them. The breakfast needs work here. Aside from the obvious issues, I recommend this hotel, I just hope they find a way to rid of the vermin and make it more comfortable for non-vermin guests looking for an affordable safe...
