Soft opening, and grand opening happened while I was staying at this brand new hotel, chosen for exactly that reason, since I have very high sensitivity (read: no exposure allowed), to mold, so a new building? ||Harried front desk person at check in. No small chat, no chat. Okay. Was just asking to extend my stay...|Definitely clean: my priority. Hallway, lobby, my room: simple, basic, (was missing a night light, so overhead bright lights and the microwave light were my lighting options), was situated with a bright light outside my room, with blinds to close, to make it about 80% dark for sleeping. VERY thin walls. Could hear (and see) the cars parking and locking doors 2 feet from the window, could hear the plumbing from floor above in such a way I got up to check twice to make sure my room wasn't somehow leaking, could hear the closet clothes on the wall shared with my headboard being moved in the room next to mine, which also had a small dog. Many rooms around me on the 1st floor. I'm allergic, but since the rooms were so new, I did not feel any allergies. Tufts of dog hair in the hall wasn't pleasant, but was not an issue as to smell, scent, etc. ||Simplified/basic also means you'll need to purchase cooking and serving items. Not one such item in the room. Good to know before renting the room if cooking is a consideration.|Basic mattresses and pillows, but new. This too is luxury. I prefer no carpet. My room had vinyl flooring (disabled suite), which does echo sound from slamming hotel room doors quite loudly. Wonder if a small mat added would help. I'm an experienced hotel traveller, so couldn't help but think on improved design for aesthetics and practical function.||Couldn't get on wi-fi until day 2, after many attempts, and a few calls to the suggested phone number, since the front desk person could not help. After muzak/on hold a few tries, I did get through, to finally get on the hotel's wifi. ||Thin walls also meant the industrial area (large trucks) on the 'back' side of the building were my morning wakeup alarm all three days I was there, as was the man in the hallway, hard of hearing, and/or inebriated, on his phone, during really late hours. ||Checking out at 7am, I called the suggested number, finally finding the phone to do so in the pre-lobby, since the lobby itself was not open at that hour (roll down locked counter). Man who answered was annoyed at being woken up. I explained I'd slipped my key under the locked roll-down. He woke up a bit to wish me a good day. ||Walking distance to restaurants, a little more of a walk to food stores. Great workout room. Barebones, but you're staying there for comfortable, clean, convenient sleep. Wear earplugs for actual sleep.||I wish this Woodspring Suites great success. After working out a few kinks and it will be a great place to return to. New hotels at that price point...
Read moreWifi didn't work. An alarm went off all night- something about a system error. Pubes in the tub that were there when we checked in. ||||I checked in with my daughter, a family friend, and paid for our dog to spend the night. In the morning of our checkout, my daughter was approached by the manager, who later identified herself as Laura Lamb. Ms Lamb walked up on my daughter and dog until she stepped back and told her to stop approaching. She demanded to know if she was a guest, what room, did we pay for the dog, who checked us in? When my daughter told her the information and directed her to me, she woke me up to confirm, rather than check.||||After my daughter told me the full story I went to speak with her at the desk. I was assaulted by Laura Lamb, who got in my face, screamed at me, and chased me around the lobby when I took a step back from this threatening woman. She threatened to call the police and have us removed. She further stated that if we were not out by checkout she would have us thrown out. When we checked out a full 15 minutes early, I will add, to avoid the possibility of this clearly unstable woman following through on her threat. She informed us at checkout that she had placed us on a 'do not return' list. She followed us out the door making motions that she was still calling the police.||||At this moment Laura Lamb is now calling my number and harassing me. Customer service keeps hanging up. They have informed me that I have to complain through the 3rd party I booked with, even though Agoda has nothing to with Laura Lamb's employment like Choice Hotels are.||||Also they charge for silverware, a can opener, and plates.||||Don't go here,...
Read moreWe had a reservation booked months in advance for a concert we were attending. We were from out of state and making the drive over; clock hits 3:05, just 5 minutes after check-in started, and we were 20 minutes from arriving after our 4 hour drive. Our phone rings and it’s a very unpleasant lady employed by this hotel telling us she cancelled our reservation because it wasn’t guaranteed. She tells us that we never gave a credit card — news flash — we were never asked for one! We try to get more details but practically get hung up on. We call back flustered trying to learn more and the same lady angrily tells us to stop yelling at her. I try and explain she is on speaker in the car and I’m not yelling and BAM! She hangs up again. We call back yet again and are met with the same short-tempered, rude lady and we ask very calmly (as to not set her off) to speak to the gm. Needless to say, they were doing this to tons of people because these employees don’t know how to conduct business. There was never a courtesy call asking for a credit card, any warning for the cancellation, and we would have happily given a card had we been given the opportunity!!! Would avoid...
