I'm not too sure what has happened to the customer service here, it seems to have really gone downhill. I ordered a French door here and when it came in, it was swinging in the wrong direction, when we went to correct the order, I was told the correct door was going to cost $300 more. Since they did not properly listen to my request, the door should have just been swapped out for the correct one. I also ordered a new garage door and when I came in to pick it up, someone didn't secure it to the skid it was on. When the employee was using the forklift to take it off the top shelf, it fell and broke and had to order a new one, but no discount or anything was offered. My brother recently bought a whole deck and we were expected to go pick everything ourselves from the yard, they ended up helping after we had to ask multiple people and pretty much get laughed at. I also bought 2 of the vinyl temporary sheds, after paying for them, I realized they wouldn't fit in the vehicle I drove. I brought both of the boxes back in and asked the customer service if I could leave the cart there for a few minutes and she said yes and wrote my name down, when I came back to customer service after about 5 minutes, no one could tell me where my cart with my paid merchandise went. I waited for about 5 minutes for someone to figure out what was going on, it didn't seem like anyone was worried about it. I walked back to the shelf and someone had placed my paid merchandise back on the shelf. I had to figure this out myself and put them on a cart and walked out of the door, no one questioned whether I paid for the merchandise or not. This place has really lost...
Read moreI went in today 6-9-20 at around 6:00 pm to return a painters tool which I ended up not needing. Upon entering there was two girls working the front desk. A younger (don’t know name) and an older one which I believe her name was Kim. I got to deal with the you get person first I told her I did not have a receipt but I did have the card I used to pay with. She asked for my ID I told her again I had the card but she did not care. I was upset after she was trying to do a no receipt return for store credit when I told her I had the card I used to pay. I walked out of the store and looked it up on the Menards website myself. I returned to the store and got in the other line. Immediate she went to the other cashier and whispered something while looking at me. Then she got on the radio and spoke in a very audible tone that “Now he’s back and I don’t know what to do.” When I reached Kim I showed my duplicate receipt and it went on without a problem. Employees like the younger one are the reason people get upset they are lazy and don’t care. To add fuel to the fire they speak about the customers in their presence. After she was on the radio another (bald) male employee was giving me dirty looks. If he had bothered to come and see what was going on rather than have a rude attitude he would have realized what the problem was. Looked for a mailbox on line before going to the store. Found the one I wanted, on-line said there are 3 in stock in Mishawaka. Great! Went to the store, none on the shelf. Looked up... there they were.... on the top of a 10' high shelf.
Finally found a person to help get them down. Oh no no.... These are located in the garden shop. I'll go get one, he says. When he came back 20 minutes later, he says "I found it," but this one doesn't have a sku # for scanning it at the register, so I'll have to find a ladder to get those down. Hmmm, that's what we asked for in the first place.
Wait another 10 minutes to find the ladder, he got ONE down.(and put the other one back on the 10' high shelf) I guess they really don't want to sell these.
Now to find numbers for the address. Guess what?There are no 5's anywhere to be found and we need two of them. You can drive to Elkhart for those, they have them in stock.
You can't make this stuff up!!!
