May i add!!!!! An Omelette is EGGS AND CHEESE TURNED OVER THATS HOW IT HAS ITS NAME... HOW IS IT THAT CHEESE IS AN EXTRA CHARGE AND AN ADDITIONAL INGREDIENT!? i have to say im not pleased with the egg and have not been for a couple years. Every little additional charge has definitely turned me off from being a customer or bringing my family, friends, employees or anyone for that matter to the egg. Breakfast should be quick, easy and inexpensive. Too expensive and very manipulative with the menu. Everything is in adition like its ala cart. Cmon $20 per person on average to eat breakfast! A bit obnoxious if you ask me. Dont go here, go to Big Horn restaurant just down the road. Big Horn is awesome for breakfast and have local specials that are very reasonably priced well under $20/person. Furthermore the omelets are twice the size at Big Horn vs. The Egg! Save some money go elsewhere for better food better service and better decor. Lastly whats up with the pinch of ham and cheese in this omelet no meat and cheese is NOT what i paid for and what is wrong with the eggs? The taste and feel is weird and rubbery with lots of moisture they seem fake like powdered eggs. This time will be the last time I or my business will order from there. Very unsatisfied.
P.s. i cunduct business daily in estes park and dont upcharge for location. your extra charges are not for loss of monies for delivery in the mountains on your products you use Cisco or even from a lack there of products due to location. its simply so you can up charge the tourists who come to this town. You are just like McDonald's and them charging an additional %120 on dollar menu items. Greed, as simple as that greed. Get every dime you can from people even though you sell a generic selection of products made into as you want to believe a wonderful creation of art on a plate. I have tried to give you chances but i will no longer even consider the egg for breakfast. I dont like feeling confused for ordering a ham cheese and bacon omlet and a waffle for my family just to get the bill for over $30. Very sickening to have an expectation and an excitement to order out instead of cooking just to get all the way through the order and ready for the meal just to be charged a ridiculous amount for one or two meals. Your prices change every order. Literally every order all my receipts are the same order just to have different prices and different charges. Im sorry for posting such a long message but i feel our community needs to know this and avoid being scammed. If 4 million people visit estes half go for breakfast and half of those people receive an extra $1.50 charge for general items that come with the order then you "the egg" are scamming MILLIONS from your community and customers and yet where does the millions go? Not to better food or service but to line the pockets of the owners...
Read moreI got food posioning from here.
I recently visited The Egg of Estes with my significant other while on our honeymoon in Estes Park. We had high expectations based on the positive reviews we'd heard about the restaurant.
Upon placing an online order and enduring a 20-minute wait, we entered a crowded establishment with a vibrant atmosphere. Despite the initial delay communicated by the front desk, the staff's energy was welcoming. However, our optimism quickly faded as our order took longer than expected.
To escape the cold weather, my partner and I initially waited in our car, but upon seeing a parking spot open, we decided to move closer to the restaurant. After inquiring about our order, we received it promptly. I had ordered the Avocado Toast with added bacon, anticipating an additional charge.
Regrettably, within a mere 8-9 minutes from receiving our order, we discovered our food was disappointingly cold and soggy. My Avocado Toast was notably affected, with cold, old-tasting bacon. Even my husband's waffle and bacon were equally cold.
This culinary letdown took a toll on our day, especially considering the occasion of our honeymoon. Subsequently, my stomach began cramping, leading us to abandon our plans at the Rocky Mountain National Park and return to our cabin, where I spent the day battling food poisoning symptoms.
The experience was heart-breaking, as we had hoped for a memorable meal at The Egg of Estes as many others have had. While it is memorable, not in a positive light. It seems that when ordering for takeout, the attention to detail and quality may be compromised. This incident has left us with a lasting negative impression, especially given the special nature of our honeymoon.
I sincerely hope this feedback is taken constructively, as it reflects not only on our personal experience but also on the reputation of a well-known establishment like The...
Read moreFood/Taste/Flavor: 4/5 - Hiker's Benedict was cooked well. One of the eggs was slightly overdone where it doesn't run as you cut it open. The other was spot on though! Asparagus, tomatoes, and mushroom can get very watery but it was done well. There's a bit of saltiness from the ham and bacon, a hint of sweetness from the tomatoes, and earthiness from the mushroom that compliments each other. Can't really taste the dill in the hollandaise sauce though. The dressed greens were very sour and tasted mostly of vinegar
Texas Steak Skillet was savory and filling. Huge serving but could have used more bell peppers to cut through the heaviness from the steak and potatoes. They were surprisingly generous with the steak but it was a bit on the drier side. The scrambled egg wasn't much of a scramble but was fluffy with a milky undertone
Ambience: N/A - ordered food to go. At around 9:45 AM on a Saturday, there was a line out the door to put their name down for tables and to pay for their checks. There are a few tables outside with umbrellas.
Service: 5/5 - while it was crazy busy, the hosts and servers were still friendly. There were some language issues and each person has a particular role so they are unable to assist in other tasks
Value for price: 5/5 - reasonable price with good food. Worth the wait! Note that the online pricing on their website is outdated and this is where all the QR...
