We ate here for the first time last night. We weren’t sure what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised by what we ordered. The sautéed veggies is NOT what you would think, it’s more of a stew that paired deliciously with rice and peas. I got it with the fried chicken and thought I’d be getting something “simple” but instead it was perfectly cooked , very moist and was uniquely seasoned.
My husband got the curry chicken rice bowl and ate nearly the whole thing (he’s not a huge eater). We have had curry chicken many times before but the flavors of this one was different. Both plates were very flavorful, as well as their award winning grilled oysters that we had for appetizer.
Meals were large portions that we took home to have for lunch today. And for non-alcoholic drinks- I had the hibiscus and my husband the guava. They were both very good, though I added more water to mine (I like my drinks not too sweet and watered down but that’s a personal preference).
Both of our servers were very friendly and prompt, but one in particular who was very descriptive with other dishes on the menu-where the oysters and fish came from, how they’re cooked, portions (to share or individual). Sadly we did not catch her name but she is the reason we now want to keep coming back to try everything they have at least once. She even drew characters on our to-go box!
We love to eat out and try different foods, but if you’re thinking of going somewhere for lunch or dinner and are wanting something hearty with lots of flavor, this is the place to visit. Oh, & don’t forget their plantains. You think you know what you’re getting until you take...
Read moreI had heard so many good reviews and was greatly disappointed. When I arrived there were only two people in the kitchen and they did not acknowledge me. The restaurant was completely empty & I thought maybe they just needed a moment. I had to get my own menu and sat there waiting for the gentleman to come talk to me. He seemed confused about what food items and beverages were in stock. The salmon was completely mush and my salad dressing was separating. There were black flakes floating in my beverage and no one was attentive. I asked about food to go only to hear the cook saying they did not have anything and to only offer me fried chicken or jerk chicken. I was very reluctant to even order but thought I would give one more chance. Sadly when I ordered fish and chips, it looked like it had been completely burnt and had been kicked in dirt. It completely dried out on the outside, smelled of old grease and filled with grease inside. It was DISGUSTING!!! I wanted to have a great experience and have authentic Caribbean food. The waiter also charged my card for another person's ticket. I will never go back to this restaurant, as I had high hopes to support this local business only to find they have very much gone downhill. I do not recommend them to...
Read moreFirst off, I did not eat at this restaurant , I wanted to, I tried, I was patient and there was not much competition on a COVID19 Sunday.I would like to try again at some future date , but I dont plan to drive through Eureka anytime soon. It took 20 min standing to try to place an order, wile in full view a hostes , a cook and her grandmother shimmied around in a randome and lesurely fashion - it was a Sunday after all...Meanwile customers who have been waiting for 55 min to eat ware politely trying to check on the order and perhaps cancel it, wile they ware shushed away and told it's comming. the food was sitting behind the counter for who knows how long wile this poor hungry man have been repeatedly asking about it. The place did not inspire confidence, but I ordered the fastest thing they had - a yuka cake , baked and ready to go - it still took 10 min to take my $6 and send me on my way with my diabetic husband, on the verge of collapse. The cake was uneddible. I tried a single bite of this dense brick - the plastic fork broke and I could not swallow. I offered it to a pretty desparet looking man on the street and later saw that he too had to cast it off to...
