Wow, this was my second time trying this restaurant and I won't be going back for a 3rd attempt. The service here was extremely poor, I came in for breakfast this time, I had 3 in my party and 2/3 didn't get their complete order, then when we mentioned that we didn't receive all of our food we were given only 1 of the missing items and then the bill came, I asked for a glass of water at the end and the server told me to follow her to the bar to get the water! Wow! Maybe the server was overwhelmed with the less than 20 people who were there but I think that she felt that her job was done when she delivered our check even though we didn't even get all of the food that we ordered. i like to think that I'm an easy customer to serve, I didn't cause a big fuss about the missing food, I mentioned it and we received part of the missing food so rather than keep complaining I just decided that I wouldn't be going back to this place. It's a dive bar, sure but they should still make sure to provide the service that their customers had paid for, I didn't order anything more than their meals already had included. And the food that I did receive was terrible, if you go here NEVER order the biscuits and gravy! It was super bland and seemed like they just added flour to milk to make the gravy that was poured on top of some nasty stale biscuits. Maybe the hash browns that were missing from the order would have compensated for the lackluster biscuits and gravy but I never got those even though they were included with the meal. I doubt they were all that fabulous considering the quality of what I did receive. I figured that if I had to hold their hand to get my food that I would probably get food that was tampered with or something, maybe spit on or dropped on the floor intentionally. . I wouldn't recommend this place to someone that I disliked. It's too bad because I really wanted to like this place, but if you aren't going to sit at the bar and only order drinks then this isn't the...

We came in on a Sunday evening after a recommendation from Carter House Inn; our party of 4 got the ribeye steaks and WOW.
AMBIANCE: Our party of four grabbed some open bar seats and we were acknowledged immediately for our drink orders and also kindly pointed out the chalkboard menus for our food choices. We all went with the ribeye steaks which came with a salad or soup and also a side of fries or baked potato or onion rings. The U-shaped bar was very cool and the screens on the walls showed either the games that were on, or something easy to watch like TheChive TV or Family Feud.
FOOD: The flavor of the steaks are amazing and deeply meaty, the texture is tender and if you go for the gorgonzola butter, honestly takes the steak to the next level. If you're not a fan of blue cheese, the included horseradish sauce cuts through the fattiness of the steak if you need it. We chatted with Ariel and she mentioned that the meat is cut in-house which may affect the quality and hey, if so it really does matter.
The doneness of the steaks were perfect. It's rare (ha) to have a place make a true medium rare and this place certainly does it right. Honestly one of the best steaks I've had and I've had Ruth Chris or Nick and Stef's - this place wins every time!
SERVICE: We were traveling with folks from out of town and everyone was super kind and welcoming. Ariel helped describe how our steaks came from and really made us feel at home on top of our flavor adventure.
PS: My stoic father in law is really big on health foods so when he found out everything was grass-fed he ate with gusto and was really impressed with the taste too. So thanks for representing American steak, AA Bar & Grill!
Awesome. Would love to come again and will recommend to friends in the...
Read moreI used to go to AA for breakfast every weekend and it was always awesome in every way. It's definitely a dive bar atmosphere, it has its charm.
Today was the first time I'd been there in a year or more. They had only one person bartending/serving and one person in the kitchen - I can't see any reason for them to have a skeleton crew when they're so busy and I know they're raking it in, so my complaint is about the business more than the staff.
It took about 30 minutes before we got the server's attention long enough to order (just barely). The coffee was cold and there was definitely no opportunity for refills.
The food, which used to be so delicious, was AWFUL. The gravy tastes like paste, just raw flour, no seasoning, a few specs of sausage that did not add any flavor. No part of the meal was seasoned.
Two of our 3 breakfasts came out with no hash browns, which is like a third of the breakfast. By the time we finally got those hash browns, we were finished eating so we were over it by then but they only sent out one order instead of the two we were shorted. We weren't trying to wait another half hour or more to get it sorted. We just won't be going back. There are enough good restaurants in Eureka at this point, resting on your laurels is not going to...
