I have never been one to leave a 1 star review before but DO NOT STAY HERE! CAR BREAK INS ARE COMMON. HORRIBLE customer service & communication. Our car was broken into the first of the 2 nights we stayed. We woke up early in the morning ready to make our drive to Olympic NP (3.5 hr away), come to find out vehicle window was shattered. Ours, along with 5 other vehicles were broken into that night (we walked around the parking lot to see, took pictures as well). We also were charged $8/night to park in this parking lot which obviously isn’t even monitored!!! We asked the extremely unhelpful & unfriendly woman working the front desk around 7:30am that morning for any surveillance footage due to our RENTAL being broken into last night, but she immediately blew us right off and said “well federal way is know to not be a good area” & that they only have cameras facing the lobby. After going back to the hotels website, google, and Expedia to read several reviews from the past couple of months, apparently this is a common occurrence. We left our phone #, never recieved a call. We spent 3 hours filing a police report (which has to be done online yourself) putting our entire day on hold. They kept telling us “Kathy” the manager was inspecting rooms- each time contacting them and going to the front desk - from 8 am until 5pm!!!! Finally, deciding to go sit downstairs myself and keep an eye out on the front desk area to see when Kathy came & left the area, after about 15 min of sitting there, I finally am able to stop her myself! (Funny how that worked out, just goes to show that probably neither of the employees even informed her that we were waiting on a call back). The only help Kathy gave me was that she gave me a case number to go file because apparently the cops came this morning to take pictures of this and the hotels parking lot across the street (I don’t even think our vehicle was still here when the cops showed up) and told me this happens often and that they have a security team run through the parking lot for awhile so that’s what the $8 goes for. Well if that’s the case; my car should have NOT been broken into so it’s hard to believe. She then says to let her know if there’s anything she can do to fix my problem, I said yeah, some sort of refund because now we are having to pocket $300+ to fix the busted window. As soon as I said that, she pretended to not hear and began listening to the convo at front desk and completely disregarded the remark about a refund and said “sorry, we are booked out tonight and I head this lady at the front trying to get a room”. - and she walked away as simple as that. No help, no solution. Before I personally got ahold of Kathy when seeing her walk out of the back area, I had asked to be given the phone number of a different manager because apparently Kathy was so busy. William, who was working the desk that afternoon caught an attitude as well and refused to do so, told me he wasn’t going to give me her number. He was also supposed to inform Kathy that we called that morning and we’re waiting on a call, but not once did we receive a call from her that day, and we watched her get in her car to leave from work at 5! This place is run absolutely HORRIBLE! It’s a fiasco and you wouldn’t know basically all the other customers are having the same issues as you unless you spoke to them and find out issues such as being given then wrong room after paying for a larger one, but front desk considering it “an upgrade”., there cars broken into as well, etc. I told William that apparently I’m not the only customer having problems with them and brought those two issues up along with mentioning how it’s funny all these issues are common issues according to the reviews on this hotel, he told me that it has nothing to do with my problem! Also, the AC didn’t work majority of the first night, had to remove comforter from bed due to excessive heat. But I didn’t even bother to mention that showing how they deal with any...
Read moreIt's your basic Hampton Inn. The rooms were average, if not a little bit larger than normal. It wasn't spotless and it wasn't filthy either. There were a few small items, water bottle cap etc... on the floor near the foot of the bed. The bedding was absolutely fresh. Small items on the floor I'll simply toss in the waste basket. Dirty sheets and I'm phoning housekeeping. The window was dirty on the outside, but not in the extreme. A vodka bottle was left in one of the drawers, sadly it was empty. It appeared that a previous guest left it there and place it in the far back, a cap to a pen kept it from rolling forward when opening the drawer. Not sure why anyone would care if housekeeping found an empty liquor bottle, I assume they find them on a daily basis.
I had some difficulties with the TV. That's usually my fault, often in hotels the controls on the remote do not match up with the TV. I just watched some news via my laptop. The Internet seemed really slow, I switched off my wifi and used mobile data.
I had plenty of hot water. In fact if I turned the hot on full with no cold mixed in it burnt my skin a little. The pressure in the shower was leak but that's the norm, water conservation.
The area appeared to have many attractions. Close to SeaTac and I passed a water park on my way in. No idea the name but how many water parks are in the Seattle area? Numerous restaurants in the area. The area also appeared to be a little rough. The front desk advised me to make sure my vehicle was locked and that didn't have valuables visible. Apparently another couple I share the elevator with received that same info, the lady was not happy to hear it. It sounded like she would prefer not hearing that kind of info. Personally I want to be told there could be an issue rather than finding out the hard way. I have a CCW and I made sure I had my side arm with me when I went out late at night to get an item from my vehicle. But the areas around SeaTac have long been a problem. Homelessness, prostitution and drugs are not new to the area. As with any large urban area, just be aware of your surroundings and don't make yourself an easy target.
I believe I was charged a parking fee, they mentioned something about that as I checked in and I meant to check my receipt but left it in the room so I can't be certain. One last thing, parking is tight. Small spaces. As I was leaving I had difficulty getting in my driver side door. I was unhappy with the person who parked next to me until I checked, they were parked perfectly. The spaces are...
Read moreDEMARION the General Manager is by far the most unprofessional employee I have truly EVER come across. I stayed at this location as we are full time travelers and in 10 years of being loyal to Hilton Hotels We have only ever had to ask for 1 other refund. We arrived in the room to find Cat Litter and Food ALL OVER THE FLOOR, COUCH AND BATHROOM. There were actual cat paw prints dusted in cat litter all over. They sent someone up to vacuum but even after they left it was all over the place and they didnt even touch the bathroom. An hour later the Fire alarm went off and they sent someone up in a baseball cap and sports jacket who handed us a battery and told us to replace it. even after we had to replace it, it still kept going off. Finally around 9-10 pm the front desk employee moved us into another room and claimed we would be refunded in full. After 3 weeks I finally called to see what the status was, and i was told with a very hostile manner that its not possible to refund because my father who booked the room didnt stay with us even though my name was on the reservation as the person who would be staying. I was told that this is "fraud" and that they needed to speak with my father and get his details. We searched for the email that was supposedly sent, and after not finding anything i tried calling DEMARION 5+ times and I never received A SINGLE CALL BACK. Another Hotel employee said he had resent the email several times, yet we still haven't received any of them or a single call. I truly could care less about the $160 refund at this point as its not even worth my time, However I am extremely disappointed at how he treated and spoke to us and am shocked that they have no means of accountability to help a loyal customer reach a resolution. When i mentioned the issues to DEMARION he said "he was able to see my history and that i bounce from hotel to hotel requesting refunds" again in 10 years of being loyal to HILTON and having a Hilton honors Amex i have only requested 1 Refund. He is a Liar, and being a business owner I would not hire him to make sandwiches let alone be a Manager or Even a Janitor with his approach to customers. I hope for Hiltons sake they do something about DEMARION as i cannot imagine he is leaving other customers with a good feeling and is a liability to the Hilton Brand. DEMARION do better! for yourself and others please... Lastly, Alexis the front desk Employee was just amazing, what a great person and energy! He should be promoted...
