Update: The owner's reply is problematic.
I'm not an unkind person, but I was tired and upset and the longer the situation went on, the more upset I got. The owner's response puts my integrity and kindness into question in public, and I find that incredibly demeaning and frustrating.
I was NEVER offered to reschedule my service and for the fee to go towards it. That is a straight up LIE. I was offered a service of a lesser value instead. In fact, I still have the voice mail from the stylist saying that while she thought that that was the case, it actually WOULDN'T go toward another service. I was offered a different service of lesser value since the stylist would've no longer had the time to do the original one instead. I had to work later that day so, I was wanting to reschedule to a different day since I woke too late for them to complete anything much before I had to work. That was whole reason I was flustered and rather irritated and I was trying to explain that, but I was told I couldn't do that if I wanted to use the fee for a different service and that I'd be charged full price AGAIN if I came in another day.
There were reasons I didn't mention the child. This is public, so I'll just leave that right there. Why should it matter that I didn't mention that? Other reviewers were granted exceptions for other, seemingly less pertinent reasons.
While it was nice to be offered best wishes on finding someone else to do my hair, it doesn't replace my money. I plan to do what I need to to get it back still.
PLEASE DON'T GO!!!!
Please don't go here. Long story short... I was up all night with a sick kid. Unfortunately, I fell asleep and missed the start of my appointment. So, I called hoping to straighten it out. That didn't go so well. In their defense (but only for a second), they offered a solution, but they wanted to offer me a service that was worth less than what they had already charged my card for... AND... well, I was told I had to be there within a certain time frame, but I live over 40 minutes from the salon and couldn't meet the time constraint. They have a 100% cancellation fee if you no-show or cancel within a certain time before the appointment. It's unreasonable for people like me who have emergencies like the one I had. Plus...they said if I'd scheduled over the phone they wouldn't have taken a card number, so no cancellation fee would've been automatically charged. How is it fair that one customer pays a fee and another doesn't based on how they book?!
Anyway, the stylist who answered the phone even said I could use the fee for another service if I were to reschedule after offering a disclaimer that she's new and she'd "have to check." I'm sorry, but since that was said AT ALL, it should've been what they did. Most salons are in the business of taking care of people, so they offer a "one time exception" for emergencies like mine especially for new clients so that reviews like this don't happen. As an aside, one of their arguments was they don't make exceptions to policies, but other reviewers on here have stated otherwise.
I went ahead and contested the charge with my bank and I just found out it's going to be made permanent.
I guess I was asking for a little grace. Don't look here for that. Instead, look for rude managers and/or responses to your plea to get your money back. The stylist I was dealing with probably even called the manager to tell her I was going to call.
I really did feel bad for missing my appointment. If they hadn't been so resistant and/or down right rude in response to my request to reschedule. I might have even stopped by and tipped and said "sorry I missed you."
Not cool. Not cool at all....
Read moreTHE WORST hair salon I have been to in my life!!! Not only did they mess up the color not once but twice and cut off more hair then I had asked for but when I complained that my hair color had COMPLETELY FADED WITHIN THREE weeks they asked if I wanted to come and get it fixed a third time. When I said no that’s super unhealthy and asked for a partial refund the owners answer was to have her coworker tell me no and that I could leave a bad review. I originally got suggested to come here because I was looking for someone who could do balayage since I just moved here from Florida. Myself being a blonde I always do research into a hairstylist before I come see them. I was very confused to why my hair came out so poorly when the girls work looked so nice online. It was when the hairstylist tried to post my after photo online when I realized THEY COMPLETELY EDIT THEIR PHOTOS. When I originally came in the lady started coloring the brown on top and then when she washed my hair out she felt the blonde at the bottom was still too blonde so she put in some brown at the bottom but left the color on too long. She promised me that the bottom would fade since I told her my hair didn’t look like a balayage but only brown. She said if I didn’t like it to come back within a wk and she would fix it. After a wk went by I knew I had to call because I was very unhappy. I had a diff hair stylist try and fix the bottom saying that yes indeed it was too dark and wasn’t what I had asked for. It looked better and I figured it would at least do for the next couple of months but recently the color had faded so dramatically that I had to call a third time because my hair is in a dirty blonde looking color now since all the color has seemed to wash out. I understand that color can do that but in two weeks is a very short time. I think a box from the store would of lasted longer. I called and was told the owner would call me back multiple times and she never did. Finally after a few days I called back and was told by the front desk lady that the owner said she wouldn’t do anything for it and that I could leave a bad review. So apparently money is more important then customer satisfaction. I emailed the owner and got no response. If you go to their fb I have posted the diff images of my hair before, after, what I wanted, how they made my hair look (their edited version) and how my hair is now. I will be seeing a new hair stylist soon and will repost to this to let you guys know who to go see...
Read moreI've been going to the same hair stylist down in Olympia for over 12+ years. That stylist has been difficult to continue seeing, and so I was looking for someone local. Being extremely anxious and protective of my hair, I reluctantly chose this salon as it was closer to me and seemed to have a girl with hair in a style i enjoyed on myself too. I met with Chelsea, who was absolutely phenomenal. She informed me she has only been doing hair officially for 5 years in the industry, but has been doing hair even before her official license. I was not only impressed with how well she listened to my wants, but also listened to my anxiety and concerns about seeing a new stylist and getting my hair cut the way I wanted. She also took the time to inform me why my hair was over producing oils - i'm dealing with a medical condition and restricted diet, and she was able to not only help show me how dry my hair was, but she restored my hair with moisture, showed me how to properly blow dry it to prevent grease build and provide volume, and she also hooked me up with an amazing dry shampoo that is an absolute god send for my hair. I've been 3 days wash and grease free in my hair, which i haven't had in over 2 years. Chelsea knows her stuff, and her attitude and personality are both confident, plus warm and welcoming. She was down to earth and relaxed and I just truely appreciated her service. I learned so much and walked out of the salon with hair that felt so good, and i'm just so greatful to have her nearby for cuts from now on. She was even very encouraging with the rest of my hair plans, such as adding fun fashion colors myself in the future! You guys have a wonderful gal on your team and I look forward to coming...
