Title: A Satisfying Dinner Experience with Delicious Butter Chicken Review: I recently had the pleasure of dining at East India Grill, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. The dinner was not only great and filling, but it also satisfied my craving for my all-time favorite dish, butter chicken. The flavors were rich and authentic, truly hitting the spot. While the staff at East India Grill might be considered bland by some, I personally believe that when it comes to dining, the focus should be on the food itself. The attentive and friendly service is always a bonus, but ultimately, it's the taste and quality of the cuisine that matters most. In that regard, East India Grill impressed me, especially considering the mixed reviews I had heard. If you find yourself in the area, I highly recommend giving East India Grill a shot. Their wide variety of dishes and the standout butter chicken is sure to leave a lasting impression. It's the perfect opportunity to indulge in flavorful Indian cuisine and experience the authentic taste of India. East India Grill offers a satisfying dining experience with their delicious and flavorful butter chicken. While the staff may not be overly engaging, the food more than makes up for it. Don't hesitate to visit East India Grill when you're in the area.

There was plenty of seating available (mostly booths with high dividers to make the space feel more intimate); comfortable, warm lighting; and enough decoration to pique my curiosity while waiting for the food. My order was taken immediately around 1pm and the food was brought out quickly. I was pleasantly surprised by the thin crispiness of the naan, however it was a little bland by itself and on the pricy side--a characteristic of all the dishes actually. The curry dishes come with rice included in their price averaging ~$18. I ordered the Paneer Tikka Masala and thought it was well spiced, medium bodied, and on the sweeter side. The rice, however, was very plain, sporting a few fennel seeds here and there, and on the stiffer side which didn't quite suit my preferences. Moreover, I honestly think it muted the flavors of the Tikka Masala instead of blending with and delivering them. Overall, I'd probably come back to try some of their other dishes and update this review then.

Mixed feelings… Atmosphere: There is a sign on the front door that says no screaming children. There is a sign inside that says “use silverware”. The whole thing felt kind of anti-child and anti-Indian culture as traditionally food is a family event and hands are often used to dip naan bread into dishes. There are Christmas lights hanging, pretty chandeliers, and large TVs. Service: Not very friendly. I never saw a smile. She seemed annoyed. I had to ask for to go containers twice. My water glass didn’t get filled as often as I needed and it wasn’t easy to find a server. I expect better. Food: Nice and hot. Loved the vegetable korma and butter chicken. A little salty and I could have ordered it with a bit more spice (2 was not hot at all). The price was higher then what I’m used to… which is hard to pay when one gets poor customer service. Unfortunately wouldn’t recommend for poor service, high prices, and signs that make me uncomfortable.

What seemed like would be a great evening turned out to be disgusting... Just like many others here on yelp, I too was directed here by a dear friend. So i decided to take them all out for dinner just for the heck of it.

We proceeded to eat the food (first batch of naan was cold, we requested new ones) and I have to admit the food was good! better than most.

Buuuuuut I knew it was too good to be true. Looking over towards the chef, I noticed some rather disgusting actions that the chef was doing. It almost made me puke so if you are queasy, stop reading now..

The chef was coughing and sneezing all over the food he was making. He was wearing no gloves while cooking and worst of all he was cleaning snot off his face with his hands and then without washing his hands, he was preparing more food. BARFFF!!!!!

We immediately stopped eating and requested to talk to the manager. He seemed to try and avoid us at first but eventually made his way to us in an empty restaurant. We told him what he saw and he said he would look in to it but never returned with anything. We had other problems too but it wasn't as close to a problem as the chef. They were just problems relating to service and friendliness.

Anyways when we got our check we wanted to talk about the things we had saw. He approached the manager and someone else (I think it mightve been his son) and they laughed at us. This really upset me as I just ate some germ filled dish and all this person was doing was laughing at my face and saying that it happens and its in all restaurants. PURELY DISGUSTED! Then we started to argue a bit and he basically said it was our fault that we got food like that. how? I dont know

We continued to argue and he even threatened to call the police. I said be my guest as you are disgusting along with your restaurant. He faked calling the police because we waited and they were a no show. As we were leaving they were calling us names and were pretty much trying to insult us. Being the bigger person we just left.

As a warning to all, food may taste good, but may contain ingredients that you normally don't expect :P This is why the one star, I don't feel that a restaurant should be allowed to operate like that and then they disrespected us for THEIR mistakes... Oh and if your allergic to nuts and you tell them dont put in any, they will be in the food, so...

My mom and I were regular customers at this place. Once every two weeks at least. All the servers know us and so does the manager/owner. Well today we went in and ordered our usual lamb korma and chicken tikka masala and two naans. Well as I was walking to the bathroom I saw one waitress pick up the papadums (Indian type of chip) with her bare hands and served it to a customer. One each is given to each table but I couldn't believe she didn't use tongs or some kind of barrier between the food and her hands which who knows if they were clean or not. Then we ordered our food I ordered my tikka masala without green onion which is my usual order. I don't really care for green onion and it's a little odd for that to be loaded up in chicken tikka masala anyways. We get our food and not only does mine have tons of green onion but it was so salty and it didn't even taste like the normal chicken tikka masala that is normally served to me pretty much on a weekly basis. I didn't make a big deal about it thinking it was the wrong dish brought to my table and the waitress took it back, after stepping on my moms foot really hard under the table without even acknowledging a sorry or anything. Well about two minutes later the manager/owner brings the same dish back to our table and insists that I order something else because that's how they make it. I told him I've been in there every two weeks and know what I order because it's the same thing all the time. He was so rude and told me "I know what I'm talking about I've been cooking for 47 years". I was so appalled. He was so rude and that is definitely not the way to treat someone who comes in there every two weeks and racks up at least a $50 tab between the two of us. Oh and I don't have kids but if you do, beware. He absolutely hates kids and babies. If one crumb is on the floor he will walk by they table and either give a warning, scold your child, or give you the rudest look. Also I have seen him tell parents to quiet their children even if they aren't loud. Will not...

Such a rude place. We reached place at 9:30 and their site had said it was open till 11 but the waitress clearly did not seem happy and said we need to order fast as kitchen is going to close . Anyway we did order quick. The waitress got the plates and just kept it as stack on the side of table expecting us to distribute to all 7 of us by ourselves (such “great service”) Further We got hair in the biriyani and showed to the waitress and she just took the plate away and no replacement … forget about replacement biriyani but did not even bring an empty plate to continue with rest of dish . So we asked about it and another waiteress said she didn’t know anything about this and was almost shouting at us. Another restaurant staff probably manager came said “ oh you guys got a hair .. never heard of it and just went away “ not sure what was he trying to tell us .. it was just a statement and nothing else . So when we asked finally he said if you don’t want then don’t pay for biriyani and when asked about the rude behavior he said they are fine not having us as customer again .. great treatment of customer 🙁 and finally when cleaning he said they have camera that they can look at morning as if we intentionally put the hair or something .. never had such a bad and insulting experience in any restaurant in Seattle or anywhere .. these people absolutely have no idea how to treat customer . If we could give any lower rating I would have given. And yes they’re is a gratuity in bill for all the...
