We enjoyed our short stay in room 1102 of The Aqua. It was clean, the staff was friendly and attentive. Staying at a place like this feels a lot more authentic than staying in one of the cruise ship looking/feeling, nickel-n-dime you for every breath you take hotels surrounding it. I love the fact its only 2 floors so you dont have any weird elevator systems to navigate. Parking is $10/day here, you take 20 steps out of your room door and youre next to your car ready to roll, instead of "waiting for elevators, just to get down and spend 10-15 minutes hoping/praying the $60/day (what most of the big ones charge) valet is in a good mood that day. There are also multiple pools peppered throughout their sister properties on the 2 blocks, so if one pull is being overly boisterous you can go next door for some quiet time. It blows my mind how many people think its a flex to stay in one of the big towers next door, when this is the REAL FLORIDA. Only reason I can come up with is they just want to pretend they live in a skyscraper for a day or two because they live in a burb somewhere🥴As a lifelong Chicagoan, this is what Im after when I head south. Thank you Team Aqua🙌💖

The staff at this hotel is cheerful, the location is amazing and you can tell they have tried to make updates to the building. However, for $370+ a night, I was surprised to see a few easy things that I believe need to be improved for the price. 1. The shower tile is the same tile you find in public school/public pool bathrooms. I felt like I needed to be wearing flip flops in there. 2. The bathroom hair dryer looked/performed like it was from the 80s. Not cute vintage, just extremely old and for the cost of the room it’s something that should probably be updated. Easy to do. 3. The bathroom window, which was on the ground floor and opened to the hotel’s outdoor guest lounge had a hole in the frosted glass cover. Someone standing out there could look in on my showering if they wanted to. 4. Overall, the floors were sticky and slimy, as if they were mopped with soap cleaner that was just left to dry and not actually cleaned with water. I kept wiping my feel on a towel before putting them in shoes or getting in the bed. This would not have been such a downer if the cost of the room was $200-250 per night, but for $370+ per night I was surprised.

The Front Office Property Manager, Maggie was phenomenal. She checked me in and walked me to my room. I had a King Studio. It was spacious, clean, comfortable and it smelled great. My room was cleaned each day and fresh towels were provided. Any questions that I had about the area, Maggie was able to help. She recommended a rooftop lounge and restaurants. There are multiple swimming pools on site and the beach is less than 5 min walking (1 block away). The Front Office provided beach towels daily. There is another property located across the street called North Beach Hotel. There is a Cafe located at the North Beach Hotel called Village Cafe. The food was good. Guests have access to the pools and hot tubs at both hotels. The nearest CVS store was 15 min walking in the sun (6-7 blocks away). I purchased wine, water, snacks and souvenirs there. I went to clubs and bars in Las Olas and Downtown Fort Lauderdale on Nugent Avenue. I enjoyed my stay and I would love to stay again.

I'm not sure how this place has such great reviews. Its location is close to the beach and the room was spacious (family suite). Other than that, it's nothing special and they just seem disorganized.

We were told our room would be ready at 3:00. We brought down all our bags only to be told it wasn't ready yet. They kept saying 10 more minutes while they cleaned, and after all that the floors were still dirty.

We were finally ready to go to the beach when we realized the door was not locking properly so anyone would be able to get in without the key card. We waited for the engineer who told us they had been having issues with the key card mechanism on the doors not working properly, so it had to be replaced. All of this was just a huge waste of our time.

Later when we returned that evening we realized there were only 2 bath towels, even though we were in a family suite for 6 people. And even though it was only 7:00pm, we were not able to find anyone to get towels for us. No one was at the front desk, and when we called they told us no one was available to deliver towels to our room. The next morning I told the front desk and asked if we could please have 6 bath towels put in our room, and he assured me they would. When we returned to our room, they had left us a bunch of random towels in different smaller sizes, but none of the actual large bath towels. I feel like this is a basic need and it makes no sense that they could not get this right.

The water pressure in the shower was non-existent, and the bathroom was constantly humid because there is no dehumidifier built into the bathroom. They also did not clean our room at all throughout the stay.

The TV kept turning on and off by itself, so it is impossible to watch anything.

I also wanted to mention that there is a huge four seasons being built across the street so I suggest not staying at Aqua until the construction is done.

It's just not worth it. We've stayed at other hotels with a similar price that are much better, such as...

I must first say thank you to Levingston, he made the stay a four star. Reason being, The lady who made our reservation she went above and beyond trying to find us a suit with a pull out sofa, I cant remember her name but she had an accent from the Caribbean. she found us one as it was a real busy weekend and they were booked, she held it for me until the next day and I must say I appreciated that. The problem started when we got into Florida it was after 12am we got to the hotel and there was a bit of mix up as to where to check in and so forth, we were originally booked for La Casa, anyways Levingston finally came checked us in, he was friendly and real nice. the room looked nice clean and every thing had a little kitchenette, real cute. Its late so open up the sofa bed for my kids to sleep, oh my goodness, a host of dead bugs, then it got worst the sheets were filthy with a big stain in the middle that went right to the mattress, just nasty. we were gonna all bundle up in main bed then find some where else in the morning but Levingston came to the rescue, told him about all the issues, he told us hold on he went and search found us a different room loaded us in his car and took us to the other property, told us he will try and find a suit in the morning. and that he did we weren't even up as yet when a staffer cant remember his name he was a real nice young man, called and ask if we were ready to move or wanted to wait, he came took our stuff and move us down stairs to much larger suit. much cleaner the kids each has a full size bed. Thanks to Levingston our mini vacation was saved and we were able to enjoy our...

The North Village is a hidden gem Ive been going to for 5 years and never disappointed! While they are all great I prefer the Aqua Hotel run by Maggie who makes you feel like family. Her warmth and attention to detail will have you going back. |She is frequently seen in her golf cart giving potential clients a tour first. |If you want to experience the real Florida at incredible rates this is the hotel. All the room are IKEA style furnishings are so refreshing and most importantly 100% clean. The hotel staff upon leaving the magnet for room to be made up are there immediately. |Each hotel has a salt water and chlorine pool. If you stay at one of the properties you have use of all the properties. With fairy lights and chandeliers hanging between buildings in beautiful gardens and hidden pathways. Theres so much to love. |Theres a charming local bakery, juice bar & restaurant if your vegan, outdoor wine cellar with fire pits for smores, boutiques, a stationary food truck , several cafes and restaurants. The spa. |As a full time Florida resident this is my personal go to for stay vacations to decompress. |Fort Lauderdale offers free curb to curb transportation. Water taxi’s offer up and down the inter costal waterways for one time charge. And more water taxi’s that are free. |I always go off season .. there may be dime reduced hours and it’s hot.., but its not crowded at all. |Theres plenty to do in AC like art museum, Bonnet House tour, Candle Making class (fun!) , Fish Market - feed the Tarpon monster fish! , Christmas Palace displays, Tufting, Pottery lessons, live bands, and so much...
