My friend and I visited the spa for a birthday celebration, and while the beginning of our visit was lovely, the overall experience ended up being quite disappointing.
Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by a young African-American woman at the front desk who was incredibly kind, professional, and welcoming. She truly set a positive tone and represented the spa beautifully. The facility itself was stunning, and our massages were wonderful relaxing and well done. Unfortunately, things took a turn during checkout and afterward, which left a lasting negative impression.
Before the front desk associate went on break, she told us another staff member, who first introduced herself as the manager and later as the supervisor would assist with our daybed setup. We were told we’d have Daybed 2, the one in the corner overlooking the water. However, when we came back downstairs, we were told we only had two lawn chairs, not a daybed. After some back and forth, another woman (who said she was the actual manager) checked the reservation and confirmed we did, in fact, have a daybed booked.
There was also confusion at checkout. I wanted to use a $50 gift card toward my balance, but my card had already been charged to my hotel room without my authorization to finalize payment. I was told it was too late to apply the gift card or adjust the transaction in any way, which was frustrating especially since it could have easily been avoided with better communication.
To top it off, when we finally got settled, it took about 10–15 minutes before anything was brought to us, and even then, we only received towels, champagne, and strawberries. We never received water or the full kit that was mentioned in the spa package.
This was supposed to be a relaxing, special birthday treat for my friend, but the disorganization and lack of communication really took away from the experience. The supervisor did apologize, and I appreciated that gesture, but the overall handling felt uncoordinated for a spa of this level.
Lastly, I emailed the spa with this same feedback and never even received an acknowledgment or response, which made the experience feel even more disappointing.
I’m not leaving this review for compensation. I genuinely hope it helps improve the process and communication for future guests, because this place has the potential to be amazing with a few...
Read moreI love massages and I have gotten many throughout the last few years so I know what good service and a good massage is.
Firstly the spa was very clean which I love. I am a clean freak and they make sure to upkeep with everything very well. They give you a locker so you can keep your belongings in during the massage and there is also a steam room you can enter after the service is complete. I had a 50 minute massage and the lady giving it to me was much older than I typically see people in this industry. The massage was good but there was no customer service. In the middle of the massage I am dosing off and the lady with just says “move your legs” or “turn your head” with her full voice. Typically people would guide you with their hands and a gentle voice telling you what to do but there was none of that and this happened multiple times throughout the massage which was really annoying. The massage was only 50 minutes and the moment I’d start dosing off and getting relaxed I’d get awaken by her telling me “scoot down” etc. in the end she threw me my robe and walked out.
Like I said, the massage itself was good but there was no “customer service” coming from the lady giving me...
Read moreWe booked this spa because they let you use the gym, pool and beach at the hotel. The spa is nothing fancy and doesn’t even have a proper enterance at the moment due to construction in the gym. The spa employees were very kind and Leon was great. We got two drink free vouchers and had lunch at Illios. The burger was good but I would not reccomend the slider trio. The pool attendee was nice to give us towels but most of the pool chairs were taken or had reserved signs at 1pm on a Saturday. We found 2 without seats without reserved signs and after 10 minutes of sitting down a restaurant employee comes over and asks us if there were reserved signs on the chairs. We said no and the attendee said well there should have been. We kindly offered to move but the attendee said it was ok. Then we walk over to go in the pool and it’s not heated, probally 60-70 degrees. Then we walk over to the beach and the attendant said lounge chairs are not included for spa guests. That’s not what the girl told me when I booked. Sadly I won’t be returning to this spa or hotel...
