NEGATIVE STARS āŒ No travel program should associate themselves with this place. In fact, they should not call themselves ā€œbeach resort hotel & suitesā€ — it’s a motel that barely has beach access & offers no beach accommodations for guests. I was especially disappointed because I booked through Paisly by Jet Blue, which I have always had great experiences with. I was charged $50 for early check in when the room was ready which I thought was distasteful. I understand they have a check-in policy, but I arrived based on my flight, not by choice. I even asked if they can hold our luggage to avoid the room until check-in time and was told that ā€œit’s not safeā€. That already made us feel uneasy. The beach is across the street, not on the premise. What really got this ball rolling was when we asked if there were beach chair rentals available for guests and were told ā€œlean over the fence and whatever you can reach just takeā€ … we look over this ā€œfenceā€ and there were 2 chairs- a literal toddler-sized beach chair and a wheelchair. How inappropriate to collect chairs left by prior guests and offer that to paying customers and call yourself a ā€œbeach resort hotel & suitesā€. Now we get to the room where there was chewed up gum on the floor and a giant ROACH. After now reading reviews of bed bugs, I’m happy the first thing we did was check the beds, and we still did not sleep peacefully because we were so uneasy about the whole situation. The area by the elevator was leaking some type of liquid that went right into my eye šŸ˜– We decided after night 1 to check out early and find another hotel. After explaining this to the night shift at the front desk, they saw no issues with what we were telling them. I tried requesting a refund for the 2nd night which was denied. Again, I understand they have a cancellation policy, but we left for safety and sanitary reasons. It seems to gear towards spring breakers and not adults looking for a nice beach weekend. Had I known this, I would have never booked here and I hope Jet Blue disassociates themself from this establishment to avoid any further unhappy, loyal customers.

If you want an authentic Florida experience, stay at the Ft. Lauderdale Resort and Suites. It is nestled among the high cold looking highrise buildings crowding the beautiful beach at Lauderdale By the Sea. It has beautiful tropical landscaping, a beautiful pool with lots of lounge chairs and an adorable Tiki Hut Bar. Mario, the bartender is charming and polite. He makes great drinks and conversation. Each of our 4 night's stay, we made sure to return to the hotel before midnight so we could enjoy a nice drink before bed. The room was clean and comfy for 2 as we had a double queen room. There is an elevator directly behind the cute round office, which was great for 2 ladies to take their bags upstairs. Additionally, each floor had a vending machine and ice machine, right outside the elevator. Someone is on duty at the office 24 hours a day. So we felt very safe and happy in our hotel room. There is even a little Greek cafe located on the first floor where you can get breakfast or ice cream in the morning. The location is terrific for a new visitor to South Florida since it is located on Ocean Drive aka A1A a few blocks south of Commercial Blvd. You can easily walk to the beach and leave your car at the hotel to avoid the meter parking at the beach. Many cute shops and cafes are fun to browse through. This area is Lauderdale by the Sea. There's even a Cafe on the front part of the pier. To enjoy more of the Ft. Lauderdale Strip, you just need to drive south from the hotel on Ocean Drive to have a really scenic tour past the highrises and the view opens up to the beautiful Ft.Lauderdale Beach. Enjoy your beach stay in authentic Florida.

Stayed in room 114 for 5 days in February 2025. My friend broke out in what we thought were hives on the first morning. 3 days after getting home, I also broke out in an itchy rash. I went to the doctor because I thought I was having an allergic reaction to my medication. Nope, it was bed bug bites. Found out the bites can show up anytime from immediately to 14 days after bitten. I then read many reviews of this hotel and there were numerous reviews complaining about bed bugs. (One that said they also stayed in room 114). Management responded by telling people they were liars, needed a psychiatrist, needed an optometrist, said they didn’t have the intelligence to close the door to prevent bugs from entering, stating someone must have brought a bug infested dog into the room, and one of the most popular responses was that the people were mixed up about which hotel they stayed in because it surely wasn’t their hotel! So many things wrong with this hotel and if you read reviews on Hotels.com, Travelocity and other sites you will notice the same complaints are shared by many. Management refuses to take blame for anything and responds as any narcissist would. If it wasn’t such a serious matter one would think the responses from management were quite comical. Unbelievable how unprofessional management is. Berating and insulting people who have the audacity to leave a critical review. Steer clear of this place unless you want to experience two weeks of intense and miserable itching.

This isn't an expensive stay. So, if you desire perfection, pony up the money and stay elsewhere. That being said it's worth the price of admission.

It's located across A1A from the ocean. It will take you roughly 5 mins to get to the beach. Access is just about a city block to the north and another two to the right. The beach is excellent. There is a sizable reef about a 15 min swim into the ocean. Perfect for shore diving and snorkeling. There are no lifeguards on this beach. Drinks are not permitted on the beach so take caution if you sneak a cocktail in.

You have nearly a 10-15 min walk to the downtown area. There you will find several bars, restaurants, shops, etc. It's kid friendly. But, also adult friendly. Good place to have drinks. Most the restaurants are pretty good, too.

This is a really old structure. It’s been there for years. The rooms are ā€˜ok’. Beds are a little hard. Ours creaked. They are clean for the most part. I did not see any bugs. And bugs are prevalent in Florida. Our room was not cleaned daily which is a Covid thing. Not sure if this is a state law type of policy or just their own. But, if you need towels they are happy to give you more. The bathrooms are small and simple.

We specifically requested a room by the pool. Don’t make this mistake. Like I said, the structure is old and you will hear all the happenings around the pool area day AND night. Several partiers congregated around the pool area at night. This wasn’t a big deal to us, but if you have kids they may not be able to sleep. In the morning kids began what kids do and this was a nuisance to a couple of adults trying to sleep in. In addition, there is a bar right next to the pool with music and drinking patrons. Just not the best place to get your 40 winks.

The pool area was a little disappointing. It didn’t seem like anyone cleaned around or in the pool. Just my opinion. I could be wrong. I tried to take a swim around 11am and it was full of bugs and other things that fall from trees. The water was also too low so it didn’t break the surface to the filter. I got out very quickly.

Oh, and smoking is prevalent throughout the resort. Sure, there are signs posted everywhere, but people were smoking everywhere, too.

The staff was really cool. We changed rooms 3 nights in and the young lady at the desk was excellent in finding a solution. The bartender in the tiki hut was also a great guy. I really didn’t meet many others, but it seems they hire good people to work there.

All in all. It’s not a bad place. It’s not an expensive place. If you’re on a budget then I recommend it. If you want something ritz-like.. Go the Ritz...

Stayed Here February 16-21 2025 WORST experience EVER!!! The Rooms stink the bathroom is NOT even that. There's sooo much wrong with this place it should be shut down. Our room was 114 and apparently everyone who's stayed here or in this room has stories. BED BUGS !!!!!!! They have a pool grosse! No chlorine, I'm sure of it !!! They limit you to a teeny tiny bar of soap and the cheapest toilet paper you could ever use. The place is a dump , and on the first night we definitely should have left as soon as we opened the door and walked in to see room and what they call a bathroom. I've stayed at alot of hotels NEVER had issues much less Bed Bugs ! I'm still recovering from bed bug bites after seeing a dr. and now my friend is dealing with them. That's horrible. I'm sure theyll have a narcissist comment because they were called out AGAIN !!! but if you look on reviews and go on Hotels.com you will read about the smell when you open the door. Pool and BED BUGS BOTH disgusting. Don't stay in 114 . I had to borrow a employees beach towels from their home because we thought it was allergy to the laundry soap they use. NOPE ! BED BUGS !!!!!Sooo much wrong with this place smoking and cigars are welcome wherever you try to enjoy. That should be a limited area. The night we got there no one was present at desk. We sat out at a table on our luggage waiting for help for almost 30 minutes when the one and only person finally saw us it was they were elsewhere repairing something. Hmmm seemed to see that same complaint on bad reviews of others. this place has had many different names the gyros place by pool was closed and had a sign that it was temporarily closed. Ya ok ! It's a Dusgusting place and terrible customer service just excuses ! I wish we would have done better homework. Live and learn...
