Avoid This Hotel at All Costs - A Nightmare Experience If I could give this hotel negative stars, I absolutely would. My stay at the Ocean Mile Hotel in Fort Lauderdale was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had, and I’ve stayed in many places over the years. From deceptive advertising to shockingly poor service, this hotel should be avoided at all costs. 1. Deceptive Listing: The pictures online are completely false—they use images of another hotel’s exterior to lure unsuspecting customers. The actual property is rundown and completely different from what they advertise. It’s a blatant bait-and-switch scam. 2. Unhygienic Rooms: The level of cleanliness (or lack thereof) was appalling. The headboard of the bed was so sticky that my hair literally got stuck to it—something I’ve never encountered before in my life. How does that even happen? 3. Broken Amenities: They had a coffee maker in the room, but the jug was broken, rendering it useless. It felt like a random assortment of broken items was thrown into the room as a poor excuse for amenities. Why even bother? 4. No Housekeeping: During our entire stay, no one came to clean our room, change the bed sheets, take out the trash, or clean the restroom. The only items provided were a single tiny soap and a shampoo. No toothbrush, toothpaste, or other basic toiletries were offered. Thankfully, my wife had packed some essentials, but that doesn’t excuse the hotel’s complete lack of effort. There weren’t even proper blankets—just thin, cheap sheets that looked like something a homeless person would use. 5. Broken Facilities: The toilet seat was mismatched, with the seat and lid from two completely different brands, obviously patched together after a previous breakage. It looked cheap and was barely functional. 6. Security Concerns: The final straw? My brother’s backpack went missing from his room. When we reported it to the front desk and even the police, the hotel staff showed absolutely no concern. Their attitude made it clear this wasn’t the first time something like this had happened—they treated it as completely normal. The lack of care and responsibility from the management was both shocking and infuriating. Final Thoughts: This hotel is a disaster in every possible way. The management doesn’t care about its guests, the rooms are filthy and unsafe, and the amenities are either nonexistent or broken. I’ve stayed in budget accommodations before, but this was on a whole new level of terrible. Save yourself the trouble, money, and frustration—book elsewhere. I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone. If you value your peace of mind and personal safety, avoid Ocean Mile Hotel like the plague. Negative 5 stars. This place shouldn’t even be in business.

Booked this hotel for a girls getaway. This place should be labeled as a low-quality motel, not a hotel. When we booked, we were told there was not a deposit required. When we checked in, we had to pay a $40 cash deposit for the key. We booked through Expedia and prepaid. Upon arrival, the owner insisted on taking a photo copy of my friends debit card that she used to book. He was extremely rude about it. I understand the need to put a card on file for incidentals but a photo copy is insane. When we got to the room, it immediately smelled like mildew. It was apparent by the look of the room that the booking pictures must have been taken and either edited or taken of the only updated room on the property. There were holes in the wall, pillows with no pillow cases and exposed pipes. The filter by the air conditioner was absolutely disgusting. The bathroom had rust build up in all of the corners and the bathroom sink was clogged. The kitchen had 1 set of utensils and NO cleaning supplies. The stove had aluminum foil coating all of the burners. The bedside drawer was broken. The door didn't lock properly. The filter of the pool was green and all seating by the pool was old and dingy. The number of parking spots outside was minimal compared to the rooms here. Every time we walked to our room, we walked through clouds of smoke from people sitting outside their rooms. Housekeepers use metal shopping carts as their cleaning carts. On day 3 of staying here, we ran out of toilet paper because housekeeping doesn't refresh the rooms. We were only given 2 towels to shower with. When we asked the owner for a few more, he said "You did have a few in room didn't you?". It's as if he expected us to use our towels over and over. Mind you, there were 4 of us staying in the room. The day before check out, we asked for another trash bag because ours was full, and his response was "We don't have any trash bags tonight ladies". His back room was full of cleaning supplies, he was just being a jerk. The night before we checked out, we had to turn our key in because the office doesn't open until 9:30 a.m. and we were flying out early. We had the option to leave the key on the table and leave the door unlocked but we would forfeit our $40 deposit. This left us no choice but to stay in the hotel that night and eat dinner on the beds we slept in because the table only had 2 chairs. The price of this place is cheap, but the reasons above explain why!

This hotel was a complete DUMP. On the website they show a beautiful high rise building which is across the street. I recently stayed there on 9/12/24 I was suppose to stay there until 9/15. My first night as we opened the door we was greeted by a nice big cockroach followed by a very musty smell, the tv didn’t work. The broken down ac surprisingly worked. The fixtures in the bathroom were old and broken down , Oh another cockroach was crawling around . At this point I was totally creeped out and it was too late rto checkout because we had arrived late and the front office was closed. Not being able to sleep at all that night being afraid something might jump out at me. I couldn’t wait for the office to open the next day. When it did open I explained to the manager that the website was very deceptive and misleading. He offered us a new room but the condition of the room was absolutely Deplorable! That’s an understatement. I declined he said he’d offer me a 50% discount for the extra 3 nights that I didn’t stay there. Because I went thru Expedia that’s all he could offer. Expedia tried to contact the manager “ Oliver Pinch” several times but they were unsuccessful. This was on September 11th to this day September 20th we have yet to hear from anyone. From the conversation that the manager Oliver and I had he assured me that he would make things right, apparently that was not the case. Having said this I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND this place to anyone! I was also told by the locals in the area that it was more like a motel for ladies and gents of the night. This place had so many code violations it should be shut down here’s the proof to show .
