Merriweather Resort — Hotel in Fort Lauderdale

An amazing place to stay! Mary Jo, Sharon and all of the staff go out of their way to ensure your stay is perfect! Our flight was delayed into Fort Lauderdale and Mary Jo made accommodations for us to get into our room at 10pm when we finally made it to the resort (super simple) Our room was a 1 bedroom, 2 bathroom with a pull out couch/bed. We traveled with our 2 boys (17 and 14), and when Mary Jo found out their ages she had a roll away put in our room (no extra charge) and had both beds made up so we could all crash when we made it to our room late that night. The rooms are impeccably clean (as is the entire grounds), and they provide beach/pool towels that you can exchange when needed. They also have beach chairs that you can borrow to use for your days on the beach. It is within walking distance to so many restaurants/bars and stores that you wouldn't even need to rent a car if you didn't want to. AS ALWAYS,, The Merriweather never disappoints. A lovely stay the last week of Jan,. into the first week of Feb. 2024 The location is perfect for us, directly across the street from beach, crosswalk in front of the resort, beach chairs are available for use in the office. But the pool is wonderful, nice warm water, you never want to get out! Just the two of us, the efficiency is fine. We do not get a car rental, we taxi or uber from airport, then you can walk everywhere. Tons of restaurants to choose from, (we love the CASABLANCA), all very close by. A CVS is close by also, for anything you forgot, plus english muffins, eggs, cheese, water, sodas, etc.||It is an older resort, very well kept up, and managed, and quite reasonable for its location! Spotless. The grounds are kept beautiful. And if you need a "doggy fix", there are usually visiting dogs, ( with their humans), that are available to pat!||You will not be...

We had the best time on our stay here. The location is perfect. It was a short easy walk on to the beach. We were next to restaurants and shops within walking distance. There is a CVS that is open 24 hours and is super convenient to walk to. The room was impeccable. The moment we walked in me and my husband both commented on how wonderful it smelled and how clean it was. The staff are so nice and attentive. Mary Jo is a sweetheart. We got the opportunity to chat with her throughout our stay and she made us feel welcomed and special. Dogs are welcomed which if you love dogs this is a plus because there were 2 chilling in the front office upon our arrival. They were so sweet! The pool is nice and clean.
