Despite this being an “all ages” rv park, I do not recommend if you’re under the age off 55 or have multiple dogs. Initially the park seemed nice enough that my partner and I put an application in for an annual spot and that’s when everything changed. Jodi, a real life version of Peggy Hill, was VERY upset bc we have 4 dogs. This has never ever been a problem before as 3 are small old pugs but Jodi INSTANTLY started telling us “no, nope. Not with these dogs. You’ll have to get rid of them” she let us know she didn’t actually have the power to make the decision but it was clear she wouldn’t let it fly. After that moment, it was like we had a problem for the rest of the time at Lake Magic.
After being told we could not stay for a year but we could stay for 6 months (because that makes any sense?) I asked about getting amazon packages bc my understanding from the rules was I could not if we were not annual. They said having them delivered to the front office was no problem and that fedex/ups delivers right to your site. Okay perfect! For my first 2 deliveries. My next 5 packages were all tampered with to the point of being able to not only see inside the Amazon packaging but also any further packing inside the package. Only the ones delivered to the front office were like this, none of the ones I got delivered directly to my site. Any interaction with Jodi was absolutely not pleasant going forward. She would go out of her way to yell at me and my partner for anything, her favorite being speeding thru the park or not stopping at every stop sign despite watching employees of the park not stop or completely maxing out their golf carts. The one day, my partner was FOLLOWING another vehicle, she waved at the first vehicle and then ran up to scream at my partner about not stopping fully at the stop sign despite the car literally in front of them doing the same thing.
The bathrooms are absolutely not cleaned regularly either. The toilets have a chemical sprayed in them daily but that is it. The 700 showers regularly had large dead bugs in showers for a week+ and the 500 are growing mold/mildew in multiple stalls. A thick layer of film is very visible in the corners of every single shower stall. The pools, when randomly not locked all day, are not frequently cleaned and often have leaves and bird feathers floating through out. The laundry room in the park has very small washers/dryers that are very expensive, there is a laundromat right next to Aldi that is way nicer and way cheaper.
The park is very nice and quiet in the off season. The other guests were all very friendly.
It has also now been over 2 months and we have yet to receive our deposit back for the electric as well, so be aware, it’s not a refundable deposit but an additional $100 on top of their already high...
Read moreStayed 2 nights for free as part of our Thousand Trails membership with the Encore addon. Full hookups (50amp, water, sewer). Stayed in site 806.
We called the day we arrived and were surprised there was a spot this close to Disney with availability, so we quickly snagged a night. We went to Disney World the next day so we extended to 2 nights. It was early December so props to the resort for having a spot and allowing us to extend. But that's about where the compliments end.
The water hookup took 30 minutes to figure out. The water connection had 2 spigots and both were leaking. Took a bit of wrenching and adjusting to get everything hooked on without a leak.
The site was sand with gravel and very uneven. We had to use a few blocks to get level and even then it was tricky since front to back and side to side were bumpy all over the place.
The site was located right on the walking path to the pool and tennis courts which we didn't mind since we used the tennis courts. We heard a bit of walking traffic but since we spent our only full day away from our site at Disney World we didn't really care about the busy pathway.
The service was sub-par. We arrived and the lady at the the entry booth was less than friendly. The next morning when we extended our stay she was even less helpful and acted like we were inconveniencing her. And then the morning we left at 11:10 (checkout is 11, so we were obviously a few minutes late as we packed everything up), we received a very unfriendly call that we needed to vacate immediately.
The only dumpster is located outside the resort near the entry gate and it stiiiiinks. We're full-timers so we're used to dumping our garbage in gross dumpsters, but this one gets the award as the grossest. And it's tough to slide open and shut so you get to inhale the smell for a couple seconds while you fiddle with the latch.
Cell service is pretty bad. We use Verizon and AT&T and both were sloooow or even nonexistent even with a WeBoost antenna.
Obviously the biggest attraction is the proximity to Disney and other fun things in the area. For the price we paid (free with Thousand Trails membership), it's hard to really complain much. But it's still worth sharing some of the minor issues we had...
Read moreLake Magic is/was a great RV Resort. It will be great again as soon as they get rid of their new Manager (Cassandra) OMG the worst! The park has great sites, clean, two great pools, one right beside a lake. For the most part the rest rooms are clean except for the one in the 700 area. It has had a out of service situation since November with no repair date in sight. The rest of the staff are really amazing and the workers do their best. I'm not sure if Cassandra thinks she's running a daycare with the way she speaks to the guests. She had a meeting and went on to inform us of a few things. She works off site and is rarely here. She informed us that our lots were not our lots. The lots belong to everyone and you are only renting the cement pad. No vehicle tires are to be on the grass. She informed us that we and our guest could park across a six lane highway at the Publix Plaza if the driveway isn't large enough. which they are not. I got in touch with the shopping center management and they have not authorize any one at Lake Magic Park of such a parking arrangement and informed me that we will be towed. Thanks for that useful information Casandra. There is restroom painting required. She informed us a month ago that she has the paint now but still no work done. She was asked 20+ questions at the meeting about the park, it's condition and other concerns. 90 per cent of her answers were "we're working on it" She has some sort of education in Hotel Management but not a RV resort where most here don't stay for only a night or two. This is our winter home. We all understand that rules are rules but her delivery is beyond less than professional. She has publicly and aggressively said, quote " if you don't like it leave." A solid rumor has it she doesn't like "old people". She has an approval rate of 5 per cent based on how guests feel here, however most will return again next year as we are certain she will not be here...
