Owned at Westgate vacation villas and town center for over 30 years. With that many years experience I should be able to go and not have too many unpleasant surprises right? Wrong. No more airport shuttles. No more shuttles to and from any of the parks. The pool bars two years ago were open so random the bartenders couldn't even tell me the hours because they depended on how many people were at the pool. One sunny day I made eye contact with the bartender from across the pool and started making my way over and mid journey he shut the metal gate. It wasn't his break, it wasn't bad weather, it was him peacing out at 1pm because there were only about 15 people at the pool. I go on vacation to enjoy drinks and over priced chicken tendies at the pool. If I didn't own here I would never stay here. Oh and I just found out that they no longer do the owners bbqs and only one pool bar is open Friday- Sunday. NO OTHER POOL BAR IS OPEN DURING THE WEEK. What a joke. Have fun staying at a resort where you don't matter and the only thing they care about is money.
If I still haven't convinced you to steer away, hold my beer. Just kidding, it's Monday. There is no beer here..
Once you've actually paid off the timeshare, you've got maintenance fees that need to be paid every year. Ours are around $1800. $1800. Yes, $1800. $1800 on top of whatever your timeshare payment is if you haven't paid it off. Let me math you for a second. It's around $150 a month and if you don't pay those, you do not pass go, you do not connect $200, you do not vacation, you do not drink alcohol or get chicken tendies at the pool bar Monday thru Friday, oh wait... You don't get the last part even if you do pay your maintenance fees.
I've owned at this resort and still have gone to other resorts because of this. For instance, Universal Endless Summer Resort - Dockside Inn and Suite is awesome. Significantly smaller, but worth it. No, this is not a paid review and I'm not affiliated with the resort. Although I would love to do a paid review. Anyways, DO NOT GET THIS RESORT CONFUSED WITH THE OTHER ACROSS THE STREET Universal Endless Summer Resort ā Surfside Inn and Suites. It's a trap and significantly smaller. Dockside has a MASSIVE food court and the pool bars are always open. Weird. A resort that wants to treat it's guests? Huh. Plus, the resort has shuttles! The staff was even better which is super rare.
You might be wondering where the pictures are for this review? I go to Westgate in a few weeks (Hopefully the last trip before we cut our losses and bail) and I am making it my mission to take pics of everything that the resort doesn't tell you.
All in all, if you have kids and don't want to spend a ton at the parks and don't own at this resort. It is a fun place to be if you're a kid. The water park is awesome, but you pay for that.
2/18/25 UPDATED Check-in was another experience. I called a few days to make sure we were all good to stay and again asked to be by the pool bar so we at least have it for the weekend. They said no problem. Well, they told me at check-in that none of the pool bars were open except for the one at the water park. They also showed me the map and said we'll be staying at the gg villas. Not only is there no pool, it wasn't even by the closed pool bar š. It's almost comical at this point. It's almost the furthest villa from the water park. She did accommodate us by moving the room to the 6200 building and said everything would stay the same except we wouldn't have the Jacuzzi tub. We were okay with that. We waited for the room and then realized we only had a kitchenette now which was not stated in the change. We were fully downgraded.. The pack and play we ordered for our one year old was there so that was great. Until we opened it. There was a USED, DIRTY, PINK, ONESIE on it! You literally can't make this stuff up. We don't even have a girl so don't even say this is ours. See picture attached.
Pillows are absolutely massive so bring your own or a ton of Tylenol. Room was dirty. Stains on the sheets. Water park...

My wife and I have been staying at Westgate Town Resort in Orlando for three weeks, and unfortunately, our experience has been incredibly frustrating. We were looking forward to a comfortable, long-term stay, but ongoing issues have completely ruined our experience.
Severe Noise Issues: The rooms are connected by a non-soundproof door, making it impossible to block out noise from neighboring units. Our first room had a guest loudly talking on the phone all day, seemingly working remotely. We requested a room change, which was accommodated, but the same issue persistedāour new neighbors left their TV on all night long, preventing us from getting proper rest. The lack of soundproofing in this resort is a major flaw.
Disruptive Sprinklers at Midnight: Just when we thought we might finally get some sleep, we were woken up at midnight by the resort's sprinklers hitting a metal fence, creating a loud, echoing noise that lasted for an hour. Completely unacceptable for a resort that advertises a relaxing stay.
Fire Alarms and Smoke Issues: This morning at 7:00 AM, we were jolted awake by the fire alarms going off in our building. While we understand safety measures are necessary, there was no actual fire or emergencyājust a neighbor cooking breakfast. The smoke from their room even entered ours due to the gaps under the adjoining door, which further highlights the resortās poor room design and ventilation issues.
Lack of Meaningful Resolution: They did move us to a different floor after our first complaint but the sound continued within a day of the move. Plus we had to pack everything up which was not a small chore and ate up much of our afternoon. After multiple complaints and giving the resort every opportunity to make things right, all they offered was a late checkoutāwhich does nothing to compensate for multiple nights of lost sleep and disruptions. For a three-week stay, this lack of customer care is unacceptable.
The only positive I can mention is that the staff were friendly, and I appreciate their efforts within their capacity. However, that does not make up for the multiple disruptions and lack of real resolution to our issues.
I have noticed that Westgate Town Resort responds to Google reviews, which is great, but perhaps they should focus on resolving guest issues before those reviews need to be written. We gave them ample opportunity to make this right before posting this review, yet nothing meaningful was done.
Had I known about these issues before booking, I would have chosen another hotel. I cannot recommend this resort to anyone looking for a peaceful stay, and I would strongly advise potential guests to consider alternative accommodations.
I sincerely hope Westgate Town Resort takes guest feedback seriously and makes improvements. However, based on my experience, I would not return and would caution others about the same issues.
I received a further response by email.
Good morning, Craig!
We sincerely regret and deeply apologize for any inconvenience or disappointment this may have caused. It was never our intention to fall short of expectations. We strive to provide the highest level of service and take great pride in ensuring that every guest has a positive experience. Unfortunately, in this instance, we did not meet those standards, and we truly regret that.
Kind Regards, Westgate...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSoā¦. I wanted to give this a lot more stars than I did but itās been hard to.. Iām currently still here wishing I never booked due to the fact that they do not help with any noise complaint. Their security doesnāt seem to ārushā or come at all when things are occurring. I didnāt think it would be hard to just call the room being complained on. But apparently they āmust comeā to check it out, but that just means they arenāt going to show. Few nights ago a couple was blasting music until 1:30 am and then ended up started to fight and throwing glass at each other little before 2 am⦠had started to call security from 11pm-2 am and no security ever came to situation the problem. We got absolutely no rest at all! After not sending anyone they had the audacity to send us a text asking us how our stay was knowing damn well they didnāt send anyone for the issue.(I attached the video I took as proof incase security needed proof, it just got so bad and didnāt stop) To top that off; our first morning waking up, was by room service at 8 am knocking because they āassumedā we were checking out⦠check out isnāt even until 10, but they thought it would be smart to wake up an entire family with kids at 8 am instead of checking the rooms they actually had to clean. So being awoken that early after getting in so late wasnāt fun. Literally no rest entire 5 days we were here. Better yet, every night since has been the same, screaming kids, loud music. Feels like we paid to sleep in a frat house⦠on day 2, our key card just decided to stop working and we waited over 35 min for security to make their way over to us even after we called 5 times since we canāt go to office to fix this problem⦠being 32 weeks pregnant and having had rushed back to use the restroom just to have to wait that long since the key card didnāt work; wasnāt fun. lol All the walls are paper thin and the water does smell pretty bad from the shower to the sink⦠Although they have extra āamenitiesā like the arcade, restaurants, ice skating, the Swan rides etc To me, not worth it if you canāt get absolutely any rest.
Iām updating this literally one hour later. But right now we did have an issue and called on neighbors due to kids screaming, playing loud music, and playing with a ball that kept hitting our jointed door⦠and they did end up coming this time to tell them to calm down. So I will give them a star for finally handling it(semi- since the neighbors began to cuss thru the door and let their kids start to play karaoke) Wish they stayed back for few minutes before leaving building to ensure the neighbors didnāt cause more issues. But itās currently midnight and those neighbors and kids are still up and at it making noise. To top it off; same neighbors woke up little after 6 am; being loud, slamming doors and not caring about waking people up. But when we got up at 8 am to load the cart to check out; they began to cuss through the door on how we are keeping them up even though some of the people in that room had just walked out few minutes before we got up to start heading out. So when they made noise it was no problem. But when we made a little after the legal time thatās allowed, we got cussed at and screamed at through the door by the parents and their...
