I first want to focus on the good things about this location. La Quinta inn is located close to City Hall and the State Building in Fresno as well as other historic sites like the Greyhound bus stop. It is next door to an IHOP and write down the block is a grocery outlet. There are other historic sites and museums within walking distance. The girl who checked me in was very polite and helpful. The rooms are nicely decorated and the sheets and pillows are clean and comfortable. The television, refrigerator, and microwave all appeared to be fairly new. The staff were all very pleasant and accommodating. There were security guards on site regularly monitoring all of the walkways and parking lots. The swimming pool was clean and the area around the pool was neat. There is also a dog potty area with appropriate potty bags near the pool area. The front landscaping is very pretty and there are trees under which you can park your car out of the hot Fresno sun.
I wanted to focus on the positives because I did notice before my stay that many of the comments were mentioning the location being in a bad neighborhood, a lack of cleanliness in the units, and this there were receiving really not great reviews.
The value for the price at this location is very good. Some of the negatives I would note include that some of the walkways and exterior plaster need to be redone. There are locations in stairwells that smell of urine but I expect that this is the reason for the security guard. It does appear that attempts have been made to clean these areas and more cleaning needs to be done. There are small amount of homeless people that I observed in the area about two blocks away but nothing near what I've seen in other cities, especially near a city center. I did not feel that this area was dangerous in particular and I did walk in the neighborhood several times. The location is near the state building where the department of real estate is located and I was able to walk there in 9 minutes from La Quinta Inn. There were some historic sites including an old Greyhound station that had been restored.
One of the rooms that I initially was placed in was missing a piece of artwork on the wall and the tub appeared to be very old, giving it the appearance of being dirty, but actually just showing where and cracks. I asked to move from this room because the people above me were making noise and stomping on the floor and I was given a new room promptly, with absolutely no hassle. The new room was just the same as the old room and decor however the tub was a little bit newer and the piece of artwork was on the wall. The room was cool and comfortable. I had a view of the swimming pool and it was quite pleasant.
Upon using the pool, I noted that the water was very clear and clean, the seats were orderly and there was no clutter or Garbage anywhere in the pool area. There was a need for some replastering in this area.
The rooms come with a complimentary breakfast. The breakfast bar was nice. There were bagels and cream cheese, bread to make toast, cereal and milk, a waffle maker and syrup, and blueberry muffins individually packaged, as well as fresh coffee, and orange juice. There were also some hard-boiled eggs but they tasted as if they had been frozen at one time. They were not appealing. I would not recommend eating the hard-boiled eggs. There was an employee monitoring this area and keeping it clean and she was very helpful and pleasant.
I would recommend this La Quinta Inn as a good place to stay, especially if you need to be near the city center. The price is very fair for the accommodations and the location is convenient to food and other...
Read moreThis was the worst experience I've ever had at at an Inn,Hotel,or otherwise. We were in Fresno to attend a concert we called down to the front desk and asked Lexus if he could call a taxi service for us considering there was no type of information available in our room for a cab service or otherwise..not even a menue for the I hop that they basically shared a parking lot with..anyway we were already hurrying to shower and get ready. and figured they probably had a cab service they used for their guest. We told Lexus we would be ready is about 30min or so and if could have them arrive around 6:45pm . He agreed to call the cab but also said they usually come very quickly so again we said it would be at least 30min if he could call then and let us know when they were there.. we continued to get ready and waited around in our room for his call to tell us the cab was there...we waited and waited finally I told my husband to call down and see if maybe he forgot to call. So he did and Lexus said he had called and he would go out and check to see if they were there when he got back on the line he said they were parked in front by the pool. so we went down and got in the cab..I noticed the meter had a balance of $12.70 I asked if that was our rate and he informed me yes he had already been waiting over 30min and started the meter about 15min ago after dishbatch told him he had to. I was both very surprised and upset. How come Lexus didn't call us and let us know the cab was there 40min ago???? The cab driver also informed us Lexus had went outside twice and told him we would be out in 10min.. how would he know that he never called our room back??? All in all it cost us 40 to get to the convention center and the hotel only credited $17 dollars for such poor customer service on their employees part. Not to mention the maids waking us up twice early in the morning to clean the room saying their schedule says the room is vacant when it was in fact very occupied. And the little coffee pot didn't even have the grounds holder so u I couldn't even get a cup of coffee after someone just walked into our room. Never again will I stay here or any other la quinta Inn. Worst experience ever.. very poor quality for a $100 a night rate.. we should had just stayed at a motel six same quality for less money. If I could give them a negative score I would..Never again save...
Read moreI’m only giving a 5 star rating because I want everyone to see this! First of all let me start off with my experience here! Rooms were filthy and had a horrible odor and dirty carpet and walls and my sheets were not changed! I had pink stains on the pillow cases and dirt! Hair on bathroom floor and the toilet and sink and bathtub all drained very slowly! Not to mention when I went to lock my door the lock was broken and the door appeared to have damage due to being kicked in by the cops is what it looks like! I honestly came to that conclusion because I found drugs stashed in coffee pot! SO WHEN I WENT TO MAKE A CUP OF COFFEE I HAD FOUND A PLASTIC BAGGIE WITH SOMETHING IN IT! AND I FIND WHAT APPEARED TO BE SOME SORT OF ECSTASY PILLS AND WERE STAMPED WITH A CLOSED FIST AND SHAPED LIKE THE STAMP ON THE PILLS. Luckily for me! my sister works for drug and alcohol and I tested it and it was positive for methamphetamine and fentanyl!!! THEY ARE LUCKY I DIDNT FILE A LAWSUIT! Those drugs that I found due to their lack of cleanliness could have put me or someone else in harms way and even could have resulted in death if I didn’t see the baggy. Which was literally right where you pour the water in! Could have easily been brewed into my coffee unknowingly! This place is unsafe for families and is filled with a ton of illegal drug activity and I swear everyone appeared to be under the influence of methamphetamine. “I know a tweaker when I see one!” It’s also very sad too because there’s a lot of people who are mentally unstable and need help and their sickness has led to their homelessness and the drugs have probably caused most to go into a drug induced psychosis! They need to be taken off the streets and given the appropriate care they need ! Overall this place needs to be condemned and shut down! I didn’t feel safe or comfortable! I didn’t even feel clean after using their shower and I can keep going on! So please don’t stay here or risk putting your family at risk or...
