The Fresno Convention & Entertainment Center is an outstanding venue that truly elevates the standard for event hosting in the Central Valley. Conveniently located in downtown Fresno, this multi-purpose facility is perfect for a wide range of events, from large-scale conventions and trade shows to concerts, theater productions, and community gatherings.
One of the most impressive aspects of the Fresno Convention & Entertainment Center is its versatility. The center comprises several key venues, including the Selland Arena, Saroyan Theatre, Exhibit Hall, and Valdez Hall. Each space is well-designed and equipped with state-of-the-art amenities, ensuring that any event, regardless of size or scope, can be executed seamlessly.
I recently attended a concert at the Selland Arena, and the experience was exceptional. The arena is spacious, with comfortable seating and excellent sightlines from every angle. The acoustics were top-notch, enhancing the performance and making the event truly memorable. The staff were professional, courteous, and efficient, ensuring that the entry process was smooth and that all guests had a pleasant experience.
The Saroyan Theatre is another highlight of the center, renowned for its elegant design and intimate atmosphere. It’s a fantastic venue for theatrical productions, ballet performances, and other cultural events. The seating is comfortable, and the stage is visible from every seat, providing an immersive experience for all attendees.
The Exhibit Hall and Valdez Hall are ideal for conventions, trade shows, and large gatherings. Both spaces are flexible and can be configured to meet the specific needs of any event. They are well-maintained, with modern facilities that include ample restrooms, concession stands, and accessible areas.
One of the key strengths of the Fresno Convention & Entertainment Center is its commitment to providing excellent service. The event planning team is knowledgeable and accommodating, working closely with organizers to ensure that every detail is taken care of. This dedication to customer satisfaction is evident in the smooth execution of events and the positive experiences of attendees.
Additionally, the location of the center is very convenient, with plenty of parking options and easy access to local dining and accommodation. Overall, the Fresno Convention & Entertainment Center is a premier venue that delivers outstanding experiences for a variety of events. Read moreThe venue is fine given it's age. The feedback is regarding the security staff, ticket booth staff, and vendors. Ticket staff says NO bags, backpacks, etc of a certain size. So many people make last minute arrangements to not bring in bags. But looks then as people enter, security staff allows people in with these supposed prohibted bags. All they do is use the metal detector and manually search the bags. This upset many families who ditched their backpacks, bought clear bags, and not bring in the food items they planned for their athlete, etc.... The convention arena staff also needs to realize that this is an all day event of elite athletes and many have Olympic aspirations. Many of them have very specific diets of clean healthy food. To disallow the parents to bring in food and force them to buy from the only vendor (Mexican food) which sells high velocity and heavy carbs is NOT ideal. I also found it funny they sell cotton candy, popcorn, etc....which is fine. BUT they must acknowledge that this't a 2-3 hour basketball game. This is an all day event from 7 am until 8 pm. For many (like us) this is a two day event since we have multiple athletes competing. I hope CUTA renegotiates the terms with Convention Center and remembers the population they serve. Let families bring in the right foods. Take a look at other CUTA tournaments who sell healthy food options .... They are doing it right. I hope the convention staff sit down and discuss the different messaging they are sharing re: what you can bring in, rules etc.... I also hope the convention and vendor considers healthy options depending on who the client is and what...
Read moreFresno's oldest (formerly, the only) stadium sized venue for sporting events (ice hockey, boxing, exhibition basketball, etc), concerts of major artists, traveling shows too big for the Saroyan (circus, teletubby/Disney on ice type stuff), as well as local high school graduations, competitions, etc. ℹ️These days we have the Save Mart Center for all the big acts and events. I'm not sure what has been going on there in the last couple years. It was empty the last few times I have been to shows at the Saroyan though I believe I saw an couple MMA toy haulers in the parking lot. I do recall about 5 years ago there being a hip hop/rap show with some fairly popular artists ("snow that product" was on the bill but not sure it was a Strange Music event) and it seemed to draw a pretty large crowd. ℹ️There is ample parking and REMEMBER- METERS ARE USUALLY FREE AFTER BUSINESS HOURS. The exterior is dated and there are zero comfortable seats in there. I have fond memories of the place but it was never what I would call "modern" nor has it ever been visually appealing, at least not in my experiences (which go as far back to my childhood in the mid 90s). It's always seemed a bit run down or ill maintained but it serves it's purpose nonetheless- large indoor arena/stadium type venue capable of a variety of configurations, with a large capacity and ample parking. Honestly it would be well suited for big rave type parties,👩🏼💻👨🏽🎤🎠✨🎡 EDM festivals,🎪🪄🎟️ and regional rap battles🎤🎚️🎧🎲 or something like those...idk......
