Umi Sushi Fresno — Restaurant in Fresno

I've had to downgrade my rating. The food is still too notch but unfortunately the wait time is unacceptably long... I placed my order after work and was told thirty-five to forty-five minutes. I figured, okay since it was after work and on a Friday evening... I took the long route, got some sho chiku bai Nigori Sake from central fish, which is an amazing price, and went on to pick up my order... It had been forty-five minutes since I placed my order so I figured if it wasn't ready by the time I got there it'd be close to being finished. I payed and waited outside with another gentleman and young lady who had payed before me... FOR AN HOUR!!! So all in all about an hour and forty-five minutes from the time I placed my order. Good thing it was only kind of cold and I'm used to working in the elements. Guys, your food is good... But c'mon! Instead of looking up at the tv watching videos maybe work like you have a line of people who have paid and are waiting for their food. Or better yet, look outside and see the people who have already payed and waiting for their food. I'm sure they won't look happy. Another encounter like this and I'll just start getting my fish from central fish instead... That's when you probably get your fish delivered...

The sushi was delicious! Both the Dragon Roll and Booty Tempura Roll werena delight to the senses. Unfortunately, the Grilled Unagi Teriyaki Bowl my girlfriend had was disappointing. The Grilled Unagi, despite being delicious, was riddled with bones that ruined not only the texture but the experience. Although the bones are safe for consumption it was unpleasant. Finally, the restaurant was cozy. We arrived 10 minute's after their 4:30pm dining hour and it was a full house. Our food took nearly an hour to arrive at our table just before we were going to flip a coin to determine if we should leave. Although the rolls were phenomenal after waiting for so long I finished my roll within 5 minutes and although I was still hungry we decided not to order desert or anything else out of fear of the wait time. A 30 minute wait time I feel is acceptable but an hour is too much for so little food. We shall return but with deep consideration and definitely staying away from the...

Delicious and the staff was WONDERFUL. Our waiter was extremely friendly and accommodating and made our first time here a great one. The rolls we ordered were packed with fresh fish and tasted delicious. We asked if we could add a little crunch on a roll and he offered thinny sliced lemon and peppers. We went with lemon and jalapeños for one roll. Delicious! The food was extremely well presented. We don't live within 30 minutes but I'm sure we'll stop by when we are near tower. Definitely worth returning! We sat on the patio around 6pm-8pm and it was very quiet & peaceful with a lot of greenery. Outdoor seating was very nice :) We loved the jalapeño bombs appetizer. A lovely & fresher twist on jalapeño poppers. They had beer, wine, soju, & sake. Overall great...
