I am incredibly disappointed with the Moose Jaw. My boyfriend and I have lived in Summit County for quite some time now. My boyfriend has lived here for 6 years now and I have lived for 3 years. This week, we decided to visit the Moose Jaw for our first time. Neither one of us has really spent much time there before. We stopped by to play a couple of games of pool. We had our 20-month old son with us. There were also a couple of other people there with their children as well, who happened to be employees of the establishment (their children were approximately 7 years old and 5 years old). Not to mention, the bar was empty. At 9:45, we were told we needed to leave, because children could not be there past 10 p.m., which is totally fine. I completely understand. However, I happened to be in a conversation with the mother of those children at that time. The cook, “by the name of Frank” is the one who told us we had to leave (even though everyone else in the establishment was okay with it). At 9:50, he started to yell at us, because we had not left yet. I was still in conversation with the mother of those children at that time (who explained to me that she has never been kicked out before because of her own children). I was really upset, because I felt it was unfair because I was being targeted. I was being told to leave 10 minutes before 10 p.m., which was the time the gentleman told us we had to leave. Why do I have to leave 10 minutes earlier than the mother of the children of an employee? This was completely unfair to me. I will never visit this establishment again. If you have children, don’t even bother. It’s obviously not a children-friendly place….despite it claiming itself to be a “restaurant.” I am incredibly disappointed with the Moose Jaw. Other “restaurants” in town would have never kicked me and my family out of their establishments. This cook was...
Read moreStopped in here with my family for a beer and a snack on our way back to the cities. I typically enjoy dive bars, so we decided to stop in here for a quick round and an appetizer. They don't offer much for appetizers so we decided to get a basket of chicken tenders to share. We placed our order with the waitress and our order came back pretty quickly. We started eating the chicken tenders when I discovered that the one I was eating was raw throughout the majority of the middle. The bartender came over to see if we needed anything so we brought this to his attention. He was very polite about it and took the basket to have it removed from our bill. He then brought this to the attention of the waitress, who we later discovered is also the cook. The waitress began laughing and came over saying that she would take the chicken tenders we had just been eating and toss them back in the fryer. We explained that we were just going to finish our drinks and take off - no big deal if they could just take the tenders off our bill. She began laughing at us again like it was our fault and subsequently placed the basket on our table and began breaking open all of the tenders in front of us explaining that there is nothing wrong with her food. Since she was so rude, this was also brought to her attention, to which she replied, "Of course my hands are all over your food, I'm the cook!" She could not care less that she just served raw chicken to customers. She then went up to the bar and within earshot began instructing the bartender not to remove the tenders from our bill, making a scene in front of the entire bar of customers. We will never go back and I will be contacting the health department. I've never not left a tip before, so that was a first at Moose Jaw. I've never seen a waitress act so rudely without a single care for her customers. Eat there at...
Read moreSo, you know in movies where strangers walk into a small town bar and the record scratches and everyone stares at the newcomers? That's the first thing that came to mind when my family and I walked in here, but within seconds someone hollered at us to take a table anywhere we want and make ourselves at home and I immediately got super friendly vibes. We didn't know this was a bar, we're just tourists trying to find somewhere to eat. We appreciated the warm welcome. Our server and service was amazing. My husband and 2 daughters ordered pizza and the server was great about telling us they'd take a little while because they only had 2 pizza ovens and we were totally fine with that. After a good amount of time and only one pizza out to us, the server and owner were so apologetic...and they really didn't need to be. They also comped our lunch without hesitation. For the record, we weren't even thinking about complaining about the pizzas. We knew there would be a wait for them and we were enjoying our time there. The owner just came up out of nowhere apologizing. And again, she didn't need to. It was all good. I don't think we've ever been treated so graciously at a restaurant. These people are so kind and went above and beyond what they needed to. We try to come to Colorado once or twice a year and if we're ever back in Frisco, we won't think twice about coming back to Moose Jaw. Btw, the chicken strips, burger, and...
