A great local spot to spend time with friends. Mainly brats and other sandwiches. Lots of good German beer choices, as well as liquors.
The Reuben had great flavor and was loaded with corned beef. It is a large sandwich and easily shared between two.
The Steigel Brat was large and real good on the hoagie roll. They have about 8 different mustards on the condiment bar and it read fun trying them. The condiment bar also had warm and cold sauerkraut, banana peppers, cheese, and onions.
They have a good happy hour from 3-6 and again from 9-10. Tuesdays they have a few beers, Jagermeister and Jim Beam for $2. - 2019
Since the review above, I've become more of a Reuben fan. I had the Reuben again, and it's not the kind of Reuben I'm looking for. It's on a fresh Chiabatta bun instead of a grilled and crunchyrye bread. It has a healthy load of corned beef, but not much sauerkraut or sauce. The sauerkraut on the condiment bar is cold, so it wasn't good for adding to my sandwich. The little sauce I found had no sweetness like the normal Russian or Thosand Island dressing.
My wife got the Brie and Fig Jam sandwich. It was tasty, but the heavy load of sweetness from the fig am got to be too much before the first half was finished.
I think I'll go back to the brats. They've always been...
Read moreCalled to place a large order today for dinner (7 hour lead time). Nice lady on the phone was taking my order, and said that she could have it ready by 4:00 to avoid the dinner rush. A lady manager then picked up the phone, interrupted, and said that she is short-staffed, the kitchen cannot fill an order this large for take-out (false advertizing since their site says they can do take-out), and then hung up on me. I immediately called back and asked to speak to a manager, and the same rude lady manager got back on. I asked why she just hung up on me. She said that she did not (not true), but she did not have time to deal with me (a tourist customer). She said that we could come in to eat (contradicting her prior statement that the kitchen could not get the food ready). I then asked if she can place a reservation, she said that she cannot, then she hung up on me again. It seems like this place is plagued by a rude, lying, and...
Read moreThis is a self-serve kind of experience. You place your order at the counter, get your own water and refills, etc.
The charcuterie board/brotzeits teller is very small for the price. There are 3 different meats but because of the poor quality you couldn't distinguish one from the other. You can get better meat at the grocery store in a prepackaged charcuterie set than this. đŹ The Swiss cheese on the board was dry like it had been exposed to the air too long. Save your money. I wouldn't recommend this item at all - very disappointing.
My husband got a beer and didn't enjoy it. Said it tasted flat. It's rare that he says he doesn't like a new beer.
The Bavarian pretzel with cheese was good. We would recommend it. The cheese spread was very delicious. We would get that again.
The view outside is...
