I booked a room here last minute for a romantic birthday getaway, and because it was close to the ice castles. I don't write reviews of hotels, but this time I feel it's necessary.
To begin with, to give credit where credit is due, Yanette was extremely pleasant and helpful in ensuring we would have a pet friendly room ready for us when we arrived 2 hours after I booked the room. And the room was clean. Sometimes pet-friendly rooms can have a strange smell or in some ways just not feel as clean as they should. Our room was very clean and despite a very slight odor that wasn't too offensive, it was just fine.
Upon returning from the ice castles at about 10 p.m., my husband and I tried to go to sleep. We had planned to wake up early, enjoy the free breakfast, and then spend the day in Breck. But it was so loud that neither of us could sleep. It sounded like people were stomping around in their ski boots all night long. It kept up until I finally fell asleep around 3 am! And then, the same stomping noises and talking and laughing woke me up at 5 am. So I got maybe 2 hours of sleep.
Needless to say, I was too exhausted and angry to spend the day in Breck, and instead headed straight home to go back to sleep, skipping the free breakfast and just wanting to get out of there.
I had explained to Yanette and another woman at the front what had happened. I had never in my life experienced such an awful stay at a hotel. I live in an apartment complex, so believe me, I understand that walls can be thin sometimes. Being able to hear some light sounds from another room would not lead me to leave this review. But feeling like there were a herd of elephants above me all through the night and early in the morning, well, that would absolutely do it. And the women at the front advised that there was a ski team staying there, and perhaps they were the ones making all of the noise. But the hotel offered me NOTHING. Not a discount, nothing. No compensation for the fact that I got no sleep and my entire birthday weekend plans were ruined as a result. So I spent $300 to toss and turn and try putting pillows over my head, to no avail.
I was (am) extremely disappointed. I'm very involved with customer service in my career, and the complete lack of it here has made me decide that I will never return to this Ramada again, and I will also highly suggest to my friends and family that when they visit this area, they also stay away from the Ramada.
If anyone needs to know, room 111 is WAY too close to the stairwell, and even though it isnt directly beside or under it, the noises we heard truly sounded like people stomping up and down stairs. Maybe if you stay in a room well on the other side of the hotel your experience will be much better...
Read moreI travel regularly for canine nosework competitions. Leadville has few & very expensive options for dog friendly hotels. We stayed in Frisco & drove to Leadville the next morning. Hotel in great shape. Clean grounds, rooms, comfortable beds, nice bathrooms. Was convenient to have the Frisco Pathways across the road. Great place to walk your dogs & let them take a dip to cool off. |I got frustrated with check in due to the pet policy. I travel with 2 dogs so the pet fees determine my choice of hotels many times. I ALWAYS check the fee when booking. I am also a Gold member of the Wyndham Rewards. Not that it really matters any more. These days no hotel ever recognizes the status. Upon checking in I told the front desk I had 2 dogs. The woman gave me the policy to sign & said the fee was $20/dog/night. I told her no, your website says $20 per room with max 2 dogs. She told me that was wrong & kept asking me which site I booked through & where is that stated. I wrote down the corp site I use & told her it was stated on THEIR website....look it up. She kept asking me where & telling me it was wrong. Told her they need to update the website if it is wrong or update the front desk policy & staff. In the end I was only charged $20 but I also only stayed 1 night. KNOW BEFORE YOU GO!!! |I also got frustrated when trying to check out. I was going back & forth loading the car. On one trip back inside I asked the guy at the front desk if I could get a receipt. He asked if I was leaving. I told him yes I was loading my car. He said I had to come back once I was ready to actually leave. Stickler for rules!!! First time ever I have had front desk not let me check out when I was clearly loading the car to leave. Will try Twin Lakes Cabins next time we travel...
Read moreI had an extremely disappointing experience at Ramada by Wyndham Frisco, Colorado. The staff's behavior was unsettling, with what seemed like judgmental looks and unhelpful attitudes. The room was dirty, had a persistent unpleasant smell, and the carpet appeared neglected. When we checked out, communication with the housekeeping staff was challenging, as they had limited English proficiency. This language barrier was a recurring issue with several staff members.
To add to the frustration, our self-checkout from Walmart led to a bizarre situation. After leaving the hotel, we were approached by the police, who mentioned that the hotel had reported something suspicious in our room. It turned out to be a misunderstanding related to a Walmart tag, which the hotel staff apparently couldn't identify. The lack of communication and cultural sensitivity from the hotel manager and front desk was disappointing, and their response to the incident left much to be desired.
As someone who has traveled extensively, this was by far the worst experience, likely exacerbated by our different nationality. Despite being a family with children, the hotel's reported concerns lacked any basis, and the subsequent lack of apology or explanation was disheartening. This experience has left me questioning the professionalism and cultural awareness of the...
