BEWARE: Gratuity is automatically added to your total regardless of party size and you are not informed of this at any point. It isn't listed on the menu and staff never mentions it.
When you are finished eating you are handed a portable checkout device with ONLY the total displayed. You are not given an itemized bill to pay - just an amount. The total for two entrees, one appetizer and a soda was a bit more than I was expecting but I couldn't remember what every item cost so we added a tip and paid. After you pay it prints out an itemized receipt. On the way home I noticed that there was an 18% gratuity added to our total. This wasn't mentioned to us by staff or noted on the menu anywhere. It is a blatant way of scamming money out of unsuspecting diners. I'm not sure this is legal but it sure shouldn't be. Absolutely disgusting behavior.
It is a shame because the food was good and we were looking forward to coming back but unless the owner addresses this issue we will never return and make sure others are aware...
Read moreThis is the most difficult review I have done in quite a while. My struggle is describing a restaurant connected to a car wash. You can see and hear cars being vacuumed from some tables in the restaurant.
Google reviews say this place is fantastic and some dishes are just that. We were a party of 3 and found the mole was exactly what you expect of an Oaxacan restaurant a savory and tasty choice. Everything else ordered was good, not exceptional but good.
The staff here is fantastic! That said, the evening we were there the staff was spread so thin that we waited at least 15 minutes for our margaritas. The drinks were good, but a long wait when parched.
I wanted this to be my new favorite Mexican spot in Frisco, but am undecided. As of now, a return visit is TBD. I say, give it a shot and add your review. I do want to see this place be a...
Read moreAwesome Oaxacan-style Mexican food at a much more reasonable price than many places you'll encounter in a ski town. Food was super tasty. Plenty of flavor, not too spicy. The Oaxacan coffee and horchata were such delicious sweet treats we didn't need anything more for dessert, which is nice because we were stuffed! My wife and I split the molcajete. We were extremely hungry when we arrived and still wound up taking about half of it home with us. Our kids loved it, and the total bill came to about half of our usual cost for dinner at our other favorite Mexican restaurant in Frisco. The dining room isn't fancy. Florescent light and diner-style tables, but some fun wall decor and friendly service and atmosphere. Definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for easy, reasonably-priced Mexican...
