I went here in a Friday afternoon and was impressed by their lunch specials. They have sushi, teppanyaki which is hibachi style and bento box options. From those menus the teppanyaki caught my eye. It comes with so much food . It came with salad with option for ginger or ranch, miso or clear soup, vegetables, and your choice of protein. It is so filling. The food had great flavor and came out hot. My mom had the same as me but she got the shrimp teppanyaki and she loved it. We both had leftovers. The server was attentive and willing to explain items and their specialties to us. I really hope this place is here to stay. They have a variety of items in their menu from sushi to poke bowls as well. They have a nice bar area and a sushi area too where you can see the sushi chef at work. While we sat down we saw so many people come close to the restaurant and take a glance at the menu. I wish more people could come an enjoy this place. Everything is fresh and we had no complaints. For a $12.99 chicken lunch special offering , that can't be beat. Other restaurants charge almost twice as much. My only suggestion would be that the salad wasn't so wet and the miso soup just needed a little seasoning but nothing bad. I know they just recently opened but it is definitely worth a try .

We had come to this place because they had spectacular reviews and many people were raving about the food. So I unfortunately think our expectations were super super high going in. We ordered the krab wontons and they were delightful. The jalapeño roll was pretty good as well but the seaweed was a bit chewy so the pieces were a struggle to get down. The fish tastes fresh and the flavors were great though. We then got the teppanyaki dinner for an entree and it was a little disappointing. The soba noodles were super dry and not flavorful at all I felt like they were there to just take up space on the plate to make it appear bigger, so perhaps they could update that to make a different side or make the noodles better, the vegetable portion was super tiny but good, the rice was also pretty dry and not super flavorful but it was decent. Then the protein, chicken, was pretty good and there was a good amount of it. Their yum yum sauce was great so that helped with some of the lacking flavors with the rice and noodles. I did like the salad and soup that came with it too. Overall, the service was great and the restaurant itself is very nice. The food was like a 6/10, we weren’t blown away, but we could have just ordered the wrong things, it seems like they are more sushi forward.

We love sushi and Japanese food so decided to have a birthday dinner here after reading the reviews. It’s conveniently located in The Oaks Mall, just a short drive off the I-75. Plenty of parking and easy to “walk off” your meal browsing the shops. The food was fresh, very good quality and delicious. Although pricey, we would certainly come back. The decor is modern, tasteful and elegant. The service was good overall despite our server forgetting a few minor requests. The ambiance was really the only “negative” aspect of our experience. The music was unfit and quite loud, especially considering the place was almost empty. Although it may not seem to matter much, music definitely affects ANY ambiance. The impression and quality of the establishment would work best with calm instrumental music, played at an un distracting volume. When celebrating our birthday dinner, we would have enjoyed our overall experience much more if suggestive R&B music wasn’t blasted throughout the restaurant. It’s surprising no one noticed until near the end of our dinner, when the music changed and the volume slightly lowered. Overall they have a winning recipe if they consider ALL factors in the experience they are offering.

Wow. What an utter disappointment.

Headed here for lunch after reading mostly good reviews. I love Japanese food and was excited to try a new spot. We ordered some krab wontons, one sushi roll, and a teppanyaki lunch special.

After about 30 minutes, the wontons came out. They were room temperature and lacked even a hint of krab, but we were hungry and ate them.

After almost an hour, my soup and salad came out.

After even more time, I finally had to get up and leave. I was already late for an appointment and couldn't afford to be any later. My poor wife had to sit and wait for the check and wander around the mall while I was at the appointment she was supposed to join me at.

I understand that sometimes kitchens get backed up. But in those times it's the job of the wait staff to keep customers informed and make up for it however they can. We never got a single explanation or apology from the White staff. We barely even saw them. In over an hour we got a single drink refill and really no other service.

They get two stars because after my wife asked for the check for the appetizer and drinks they did offer to bring the food out to go for free. I would love to tell you how the teppanyaki is but I'm going to have to microwave it tomorrow and see. My wife ate her sushi roll in the comfort of the food court.

There are plenty of good Asian places in Gainesville. Don't waste your time or your money at this one. It's not...

Our server was great, very polite, professional and quick, ordered Uni, ate a bite and it was not fresh. Tasted like urine smells, no problem though, wasn't even going to complain just ready to move on. Don't expect the freshest stuff from a mall restaurant. Server comes back politely asks me why I didn't finish the uni, I say it just wasn't very fresh, it's not a problem though don't worry about it. 10-15 minutes later some young guy working the bar with tattoos going down his neck approaches to argue with me about the uni, was aggressive and awkward, never introduced himself or anything. I say it's not a problem, he goes on a tangent about the uni just getting off the truck yesterday. "Okay." He asks if we want different fish instead, I say no, while we eat our meal, not gonna argue didnt even really care. We agreed to swap a spyder roll for the price of the uni. It was an awkward end to the night, I was very impressed by the food, service, and atmosphere up to that point, maybe get rid of this guy and get a different manager? He seemed to have a big chip on his shoulder. Even while we were eating I look over and this guys staring? Very strange. Two people with a 100.00 check with a 20.00 tip to our server, it's not like we were being cheap trying to pull a fast one on this restaurant, this guy was just weird, made me and my date uncomfortable...
